Wendy is the best !! I always do a ton of research before buying something or hiring anyone and I loved Wendy's About page on her website. I felt like I could trust her and just overall, felt she was a genuine person to work with - and entrust her with my decluttering project (oh god, am I a hoarder?) She came over and the first 30 min, she assessed my apartment and we came up with a strategy on what parts were the most stressful; my closets. I literally could not fit a single new item in there, let alone see what I had - I had been wanting to declutter for years but never got around to it, because I thought I would be able to do it myself... OBVIOUSLY I never did it and the stress kept building. Enter: the New Year, and Wendy. I had been reading about how a decluttered house contributes to the rest of your mood, and I really wanted to start the year off feeling clearer. So, we did it - it took about 2 non-consecutive days to organize and get rid of things. I looked into my closet after she left, and I was blown away by how she organized it all. I got rid of tons of clothes and things, and Wendy helped me bring it to Buffalo Exchange and Goodwill. She advised me on what kinds of bins and storage organizers I should get for our 2nd session in my living room (yes, you have to spend a little money on bins and boxes but it is WORTH it to keep you sane), and when she came back to do the rest of my apartment, we had a plan. She even organized my makeup area, and I got rid of/sold furniture items that do not belong ! Now, I look at my place and everything makes so much sense. Wendy helped me put things I don't use regularly away, and things I use daily in their place. WHY didn't I think of that? I have no idea, but THANK YOU, Wendy!! I've worked with Wendy on two projects and recommended her to my daughter to help organize her tiny space. Inviting someone into your home to help you deal with spaces that you've been avoiding takes some courage. Sometimes it's something easy, and sometimes it's something that is charged with emotion. The last thing you want is someone who gets judgy about the number of books or widgets or cracked vases you happen to have. Wendy has the perfect temperament, patience, and spatial intelligence to work through even the thorniest organizational problems. When she saw I was getting overwhelmed, she broke down the decision or problem into a small, doable, bite-sized task. Throughout the process, I got the tiny rewards of progress, which kept me going. Before I begin, I 1000000% recommend Wendy! Wow - just WOW!!! I hired Wendy to help me unpack and move into my brand, spanking new home. The task was daunting (to me) but Wendy and her team came in with confidence and new exactly what to do to tackle the task at hand. They immediately made me feel like yes, we can get this done and it will be great. First they had to move boxes from the garage into their respective room. We purged as we went and at the end of each day they would take items out for donation. She would also purchase items needed to help with the unpacking and organization before returning the next day. The biggest tasks by far were the kitchen and my bedroom/clothing. My kitchen and bedroom has never, EVER been this streamlined, organized and just plain beautiful. I've worked with Wendy and Actually Organized several times. She is a life saver. I originally hired Wendy to do a whole house purge/organization. She was amazing. At the time I had a one year old and a four-year-old and our house was bustingst the seams with "stuff". Wendy was both lovely and talented. She was easy to reach and listened carefully to what I wanted. On the day she took care of everything in conjunction with my movers and even relayed some instructions about my apartment from my building guys for me. We had agreed on 5 hours and when I got home from work she had so much done. Wendy was prompt and did an amazing job on my mom's two closets. She was organized, took control of the donations (in a completely lovely way), and was truly a pleasure to spend the day with. She brought her own bags for donations, and took them with her at the end of the day to unburden us with the task of transporting our donations. I worked with Wendy from "Actually Organized" over several organizing sessions and can't thank her enough for her help and expertise. I am an entrepreneur who works from home; organizing a live/work space within the confines of a New York City apartment is not easy! I was looking on Yelp for a closet designer but for years have also been looking for the right professional organizer to help me declutter and clean up my apartment.
