She takes the time to answer questions and truly listens to concerns. I went in for a typical cleaning and was experiencing intermittent pain. I've been told by other dentists that I have cracked teeth that need to be repaired, so I was concerned about this pain. Dr. Haffner reassured me that my teeth only have "wrinkles" that come with time and that I do not need additional work. For the first time in a few years I feel confident about my oral health. In that time, the office manager had already called his dental insurance and found out what it was. She also made suggestions on how to make sure that he had coverage. Dr. Dawson was beyond kind and incredibly effective! My dad had chipped his tooth and had been unable to close his mouth! They did a cleaning, x-rays, and for three hours, the dentist fixed my dad's tooth and drilled another cavity. Afterwards, my dad turned to me with tears in his eyes and said, "I can actually close my mouth! For the first time in months, my mouth feels normal!" We can't thank Dr. Dawson and his staff enough!

I haven't eaten on that side of my mouth for two years. I go to see him months after the pull and he tells me " it looks like whoever pulled the tooth cracked the tooth beside it" so he sends me to his friend (affiliate) she tells me there is no crack but she sees a cavity and has to do a root canal. I refuse the root canal because I showed no cavity on X-ray. So, I go to another dentist NOT affiliated with them and he tells me he sees NO cavity and NO crack. My old insurance was running out ironically around the time my tooth started hurting so I went back to him because he was close and really wanted to see what he says this time. I gave him a recap of everything that happened and of course this time he sees no cavity or crack. I had a cleaning scheduled, again trying to use coverage, but the billing lady called and gave me a price larger than expected so I questioned it. And in rude form ,as she always is ,she gives attitude and tells me if I have two insurances by law she has to charge me both deductibles even if one covers it. I checked with three other dentists and they say that's not true. So, I cancel the appointment. I will be calling the dental board to find out this information as well. I guess this office doesn't believe in patients advocating for themselves ,because after I get a letter stating they will not service me any longer. What a joke! I wasn't coming back there anyhow!!! I was using that insurance up quick that expired in 2 days for a cleaning. Now that my new insurance has started I was definitely looking for a dentist and office that doesn't give bad advice, refer to affiliates , and respect their patients' rights! I am a recent transplant to the area and had originally picked Tidewater Dentistry, Dr. Williamson and his staff because the dental insurance that I had was accepted by his office. I feel like I won the lottery. From the very first visit, they have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, welcome, and absolutely fearless. So much so, that I do not have insurance any longer and continue at this practice because they are so WONDERFUL! Also - they offer a discount if you are paying with cash or check - BONUS. There may also be other discounts available and all you need to do is call and ask. Staff has also commented they would be happy to help me go over insurance plans should I go that route again. I have NEVER been to a practice where I have been offered that help. Dr. Williamson is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful and kind. He spends as much time as you would like with you and thoroughly answers all questions. Also, I needed an 'emergency appointment' to have a crown re-glued before I was leaving on a trip. I was worried that I was going to have to pay for the visit and the procedure - that's the case at all. This is a practice where they do NOT nickel and dime you to death. I only paid for the procedure and they made my appt ASAP. I cannot say enough about how wonderful staff is as well. Cleanings are absolutely stress-free! This practice is really, really great. Dr. Williamson and his staff are courteous, professional and timely. For 55 years I had put up with rude comments because of the natural color of my teeth. They couldn't be whitened. I am very picky about the results; my expectations were and are exceeded in every way. Seeing the dentist can be costly, but I can say they did what is best for my overall health and long-term relationship with my mouthcare regiment. Mouth guard wore out after several years; got new one; they clean my mouth guard at visits for free. Very satisfied with my long-term use of services. My wife is also very pleased her dental care and how they conduct their business.. My age is 64 years old. Several of my teeth have been replaced by this office too. I am staying with this office.
