Geno is an excellent practitioner, the best I have found in SD county so far. I'm very picky. Most massages I get are mediocre. I like to feel actual relief, not just have a relaxing spa session. Geno LITERALLY saved my life, SHOULDER Destroyed I'm not exaggerating, I had a torn rotator cuff, a messed up chest muscle, as well as the back of my shoulder and my AC joint was separated. I couldn't do daily activities (shave, hold up a phone, raise my arm AT ALL without pain) The pain was INTOLERABLE. My right thigh is in a lot of pain because I was hit by a car several years. I went thru the complete Scripps Health system: PCP review, "Here... try these lotions", to the Pain Management Group and on to the Neurology Group. That process took about 4 years and I was still in lots of pain. Now they want me to drive to UCLA in Westwood to meet with a very specialized Neurosurgeon. So I asked my neighbor, who is a Navy SEAL how he deals with physical pain. He said 'acupuncture.' I said 'acupuncture'... you mean that Asian Pin Snake Oil System Treatment. This review is LONG overdue. Over a month ago, I injured my neck due to chronic neck pain from work stress and for the first time in my entire life, ended up in the ER. I then had to attend appointments at the spine center and be injected with all kinds of steroids and anti inflammatory injections. Even after all that I was still in SO much pain that I ended up seeking acupuncture and cupping. Geno saved me. After a 30 minute session (1 hour total) of both, I was still in discomfort and pain so he had to do a second much deeper round in a certain spot and the pain 100% disappeared. He literally saved me. I have been going here for years - my top pick for acupuncture. I had to write a review after i came in today after not coming in for a while because i moved across town. It was worth the long drive. Tried Hans' massage yesterday...was mediocre at best. He must have not read my intake form at all and didn't discuss it with me. Which means he just did a standard routine that he does on everyone. I specifically wanted my neck, arm and hands worked on and he spent like 2 minutes on them. Never asked about pressure which was WAY to light. I didn't come to get petted. Seemed like he was tired or bored and want to get out of there. After reading all these rave reviews I expected it to be much better. I guess I should try Geno next time... Geno did indeed redeem himself. I received the trigger point acupuncture plus massage treatment that was definitely grueling at times but quite effective. Geno explained that I'd be sore the day after but on the 3rd day it'd feel great. He was right, the next day I could barely moved! But the 3rd day my neck and shoulders felt much better.
