I was referred to Chris by one of my friends. I have been struggling with neck and shoulder pain for a couple weeks now. It just just about went away twice but then got reaggravated both times. The building was pretty easy to find and there's plenty of parking. It's a very calm and quiet environment. He did a mix of deep tissue massage, cupping, and Accupuncture with stim and some deep stretches. He also used a topical CBD rub and a Chinese medicine spray when I was done. It felt so tingly and nice. He wore a mask the entire time as did I. I felt AMAZING when I left. It barely hurt at all! He did warn me that it would likely tighten up a bit again, and that I would need a second appointment which I did not hesitate to make before leaving the office. With this particular spot it can easily be 'over' worked and actually make it worse. So I am VERY hopeful that after my second session I will be good to go. I can't say enough good things about The Muscle Doc. I'm usually SO hesitant about having a male provider for anything due to bad experiences in the past, but Chris made me feel so comfortable right off the bat and my nerves were nonexistent. Making an appointment is extremely easy via the website. There's plenty of dates and times open to fit any schedule. The office is located right next to Balboa park, which sounds like a nightmare at first but there's client parking. So, no need to leave an hour early to spend 30 minutes looking for a spot. The office is also quiet with pretty much no other foot traffic, which is very appreciated. Chris has done absolute WONDERS for my body in just two sessions. My first one was my first massage in about 4 years and I absolutely had to book for 4 weeks out for maintenance. My gym performance following that massage was incredible (better ROM, better muscle contraction, and less recovery time). I had to schedule another session earlier than scheduled due to a knot in my shoulder that was causing EXCRUCIATING pain, and I was able to get in the next day first thing in the morning. Chris completely took care of it and now I'm back to normal. I will continue coming here again and again. I know the price can be daunting for some, but it is worth every penny. Little backstory: 3 years ago I landed on my side from about 15 ft in the air while skiing and have had EXTREME lower back/gluteal/ hamstring & quad tightness/pain ever since.
