Today, I came today for my appointment, even called 30 minutes beforehand to confirm that I'd get a massage from her, and they said yes. Instead, when I walked in, she said she was sick and that someone else would be giving me my massage. If this was the case, why didn't anyone say so when I called beforehand to confirm? I squeezed in time on a very busy schedule because of her promise. Instead I got someone else, and also didn't get the focused shoulder massage by her so it felt like a waste of time and money- I felt tricked. If I had been conveyed this information, there would be more trust in this service, and I could make better decisions on whether I decide to come anyway, or another time in a few months for a massage I feel is worth the price. My esthetician failed to introduce herself and, while the service did good things for my skin, her clunky heeled shoes and rapid, noisy movements ruined my post-massage relaxation and made the service feel rushed. She also provided too-vigorous shoulder and foot massages which I had to ask her to stop. Overall this facial experience was 2 stars. Mani pedi was lovely and relaxing with Hilda, also a 5 star experience. There are no shower or locker room facilities, but I was given a robe and a tote for my stay. The facial and nail services also include hefty doses massage, so I'd ask the massage therapist to skip those areas and focus on shoulders or back instead to maximize your massage minutes! The waxing room didn't appear to be a place where one would feel comfortable disrobing for this type of service. My heart was telling me to just leave and chalk it off to a potential bad experience avoided. I persevered and stayed. I disrobed and lied down on her waxing table. She stated the process of waxing. She didn't seem to have an organized and methodical system of waxing different areas to insure each area was completely hair free after the process. She started using an electric trimmer. She stated that it was to shorten the hairs and that each area would be waxed afterwards. That didn't happen! The end result was some areas were waxed and most were not. They were shaven with her electric hair trimmer. She made a statement that her price was a good deal. I never made any issue over her fee! All in all I would never return to Lenore's for this or any service. My advice to all is; spend more money at another salon which seems like it is an ongoing business and have this service done by an operator who is knowledgeable and has a proven technique so that afterwards all hair has been removed by waxing and not a combination of waxing and an electric razor.
