I did a…read morecouple steroid shots in my knee the first one helped for a little while the second one did nothing. A steroid shot in my foot only made it worse. I really did not want to get a knee replacement. I am 62 years old and would probably be looking at a second knee replacement in 10 to 12 years. I finally reached a point that getting up in the morning was terrible, I could hardly walk. I knew that it would not be many years until I was in a wheelchair if I didn't do something. But what? None of the doctors I had seen did anything to help me other than telling me I needed surgery. When my friend suggested acupuncture, I thought I might as well try it. If it didn't work I would be no worse off. I found Andrew Wen in Anthem, AZ about 15 minutes from my home. I sent him an email explaining my situation and he called me that very night. After listening to what he had to say I could not wait to get started. I started seeing Andrew at the end of February and I must say he is simply amazing. My right knee felt better after my very first treatment. I am still a work in progress, I had several issues that needed addressing. It took me many years to get myself into this mess. So, it is not a one treatment fix. If I only knew about acupuncture back then! I have improved so much. I no longer need a knee replacement. I have learned that pain can come from a different place than what you might think. My knee pain is not completely gone, but it is way better than it was before. Because of the pain in my foot and my knee, my husband used to say a walked like a penguin. The pain in my knee was so bad, the way I walked changed, which ended up causing me problems with my left foot and ankle. The stiffness in my ankle made everything worse. Andrew has been treating my left ankle as part of the process to make my right knee better. Yes, you read that correctly. My stiff left ankle was causing some of the pain in my right knee. I now understand now that with my right knee hurting so badly when I walked, I was shifting my weight to my left side which caused a lot of stress on my left ankle and made it very stiff. As a result, while walking, my weight shifted to the inside of my right knee causing a lot of pain. As I said I am a work in progress. I am walking better and feeling better thanks to Andrew. He is the nicest man! He always makes sure I am comfortable and explains very clearly why he is doing the treatment that he is doing and how it will help. I have learned so much about the human body that I did not know before. The whole process has been a wonderful experience. I will be forever grateful to Andrew Wen for giving me my life back. Thank you!!

I'm so sorry for the people who had a bad experience with Dr Erica…read more She is a very caring and compassionate Dr. I feel that she saved my husband and my life. When my husband and I had Covid, my GP would not see us and told us to go to the hospital emergency. My husband went twice because he was having a very hard time. They took X-rays and found a spot on his lungs but said it wasn't a problem. They asked him if he wanted to stay and he decided to go home. He went home with no instructions, no meds no follow up. We were frantic. I called Dr Erica. She looked at the hospital X-rays and tests. She said that the spot on my husbands lungs was pneumonia and prescribed antibiotics. Because we had Covid she set up appointments for us on the phone. I can't tell you how great it felt to talk to someone who cared about us and did something about it. She also ordered oxygen for us because our O2 was low. She then gave us her home phone number for us to call at anytime. For a month she continued to talk to us, giving us instructions about what to do and she adjusted our meds. When we were well she recommended that we follow up with a pulmonologist. So again, if you are looking for a Dr who cares, I recommend Dr Erica.

I cannot recommend Dr. McKeen (Dr. Erika) at Arizona Medical at all. She did an incomplete and…read moreasymmetrical job and then tried to require me to come back in and pay extra in order to fix her mistakes. Since Dr. Erika was unwilling to act in a professional and honest manner around this issue, I am forced to write a bad Yelp review. This is what happened to me: 1) Before we began, I told Dr. Erika what my budget was. I made it clear that I had a specific budget and that, because I live out of state, I would not be able to return for more work. 2) We came to an agreement as to what procedures I would receive and the costs involved. 3) She at no time told me that she may need to do additional work later "after the swelling went down". Since I live out of state, I would not have agreed to those conditions. 4) Dr. Erika injected a number of lines above the upper lip. She then told me that the work we had agreed upon was complete and that there was extra product in the syringe. With the extra product, she injected the vermilion border. I left understanding that the procedure had been completed. 5) I returned home and after a few days the swelling had gone down. I could then see that the procedure was done incompletely and asymmetrically, leaving me looking seriously worse than when I went in. Although she had told me that she had completed my upper lip lines and that there was extra product remaining, she failed to fill two deep lines running upwards from the lip. I was also left with a lopsided upper lip from the injection in the vermilion border. 5) I brought this up to her and she changed her story, saying that "There were a few lines remaining as we ran out of filler" and that I should have known that she might need to do more work "after the swelling went down". 6) Dr. Erika then told me that I needed to come in and pay an additional $319 to complete the procedure, even though at the time of our appointment she told me that she had completed the upper lip with extra product remaining in the syringe. 7) I am now stuck with an embarrassing and shameful mess of a mouth. I am embarrassed around my family and in public. I have to cover my mouth with my hand to hide it. I will have to have the procedure repaired at my own additional expense. 8) I told her that I cannot fly back to Phoenix for another appointment nor to pay another $319 out of pocket to repair the mistakes she made. I asked for a refund on this botched procedure or at least for her to help me pay to get it repaired in my home state. 9) She refused any solution other than my paying her more money. She laid the blame on me telling me that I should have known that I would need to come back for more work. She also insulted me by accusing me of simply attempting to get a free procedure. Given the shoddy work, the poor communication, her attempt to get more money from me than we had agreed upon and her insult to my integrity, I cannot recommend Dr. Erika.
