I had been to acupuncture before but it was not the greatest experience. I passed the Acupuncture Studio one day taking a walk and took one of the fliers. I decided that it was something I wanted to do for myself as I have been focusing on health and I do believe in the power of acupuncture. At my first visit with Javier we sat and talked about my health history and issues I was concerned about. I was immediately set at ease by his easy going and calm beside manner. He explained everything he was going to do and about the different points he was using and why. In my previous experience I was just kind of stuck like a pin cushion and never really told for what, but Javier really took the time to explain which I thought was invaluable. He listened to my concerns and checked my body and tongue for issues. I was recommend some herbal supplements to help with my issues but I never felt at any time that it was pushy or just trying to sell things. I have continued to come back each week and I definitely notice a difference. I look forward to my visits with Javier and every week he follows up on questions and checks how I am doing during the treatment. I have such a calm, relax, peaceful feeling when I leave every time.It really is amazing how needles in certain points can relax you within minutes. As my treatment went along he would change certain treatment styles depending on how I am feeling or what part of my cycle I was in which I love because it's very tailored to me. I definitely feel better because of this treatment and I am so happy to have found this place and Javier. It makes a world of difference when you have someone who is not only very knowledgeable but puts you at ease. Julia is a very knowledgable and skilled practitioner and she is also a great educator. I have been coming to her for 4 years now to control my hyperthyroid condition and I have been able to achieve consistently good bloodwork results with acupuncture and herbs and avoid using any medication. I was very skeptical when I first came to see her. Also, the idea of getting stuck with needles didn't appeal to me. However, I am not a fan of being medicated with Western drugs considering all the side effects. Being that I was always healthy prior to my diagnosis of Grave's Disease, I really wanted to do something to regain my health naturally. It took me a few times to get used to the acupuncture process but Julia has a way of making you feel at ease. Then I began to notice the effects: feeling relaxed, calm, more focused, less stressed, better sleep. I simply felt better and better. I have found my home w julia as my acupuncturist. i have visited others in the past which were helpful as well , but , Julia far exceeds them all . I've got a serious twisted neck/back, and got worse after a rehearsal of a performance. When I visited the studio, the pain was extremely serious like I had it even I didn't move. But I've got so much better after Dr. Javier's treatment. It wasn't like that magically recovered right after the treatment, but it was slowly getting better and better after a few hours. I was so happy that I could got up smoothly once I woke up. Couldn't do it for a few days before visiting the studio. He taught me some stretching, too. I had his treatment twice in this week, and now I feel like I've got 80% recovered. Another point is that Dr. Javier and the receptionist are so nice and kind. And the place is clean. I know what you're thinking. 5 stars seems unbelievable but Julia and Javier deserve it. I met Julia almost 2 years ago at another location with lower back issues. She asked a lot of questions about my lifestyle, health, work environment for my 1st visit. She put me on a treatment plan and I'm happy to say my issues have subsided. She also educates her patients on diet, mental health and physical health which all play a big part your overall well being. I continue to go for maintenance treatments which Javier has assisted with. Javier is professional, knowledgeable and truly takes his profession seriously. I worked with Ms. Alikina in acupuncture over several months for lower back pain. Ms. Alikina was very thoughtful and knowledgeable, spending a lot of time getting to know me, my symptoms, and how I was feeling. A lot of time and care was taken in the actual acupuncture session, and comfort was paramount. Ms. Alikina was always open and available to answer questions about treatment either during the session, or in between sessions. I am a psychologist, and I have referred several patients to Ms. Alikina to treat pain from chronic medical conditions, anxiety, and depression, with good results. I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy 2 yrs ago. The neurologist told me come back in 4 months and we'll see where it goes. I received no comfort or medicine to help me heal.
