As I'm reading over the reviews posted by others on this site, I find myself rolling my eyes,…read morewondering what store they're talking about (and whether any of them have even the slightest idea of either the differences between fine quality and junk jewelry, or what's involved in creating the jewelry that they see in showrooms or wear on their bodies), because as a formally trained and certified silversmith (a long time ago, in a former career) I actually happen to know both, having not only designed, hand fabricated and sold fine jewelry before, but actually competed and won an award for it at the national level, 30+ years ago. From that perspective, what I can tell you without hesitation is that the jewelers and sales staff at Vallee's Jewelers not only DO know very well what they're doing' but they know it a whole lot better than many of their competitors do. (In fact, their in-house bench jeweler/goldsmith is a 3rd generation Master Jeweler and certified Master Watchmaker with more than 50 years of hands-on experience in the trade, which is an incredible rarity, nowadays!) Not only that, but the store's sales professionals are also top notch, with decades of experience under their belts, as well. What most people don't understand is that better than 80% of the jewelry they see in stores and online is made in low rent sweatshops, where the focus is on cranking out volume at the lowest possibly price, rather than painstakingly crafting pieces of wearable art that are made to be worn and enjoyed for generations The difference between the two are not only in durability and in price, but also in the amount of a Master Craftsman's time required to make it happen. The same is true of repairs: in order to give an accurate price quote for the repair of anything more complicated than a ring re-sizing (especially if it's on a piece that was made in a foreign sweatshop), it's sometimes necessary to first spend some time double-checking that the piece is solid, rather than made from hollow tubing (as is sometimes the case). Since broken pieces of solid metal can easily be welded or brazed (soldered) back together again, but hollow pieces cannot, what happens to a craftsman's reputation in the eyes of a customer, if he promises to do something for a reasonable price and then discovers that he cannot? As for interpersonal treatment, I have been in their store several times (including right before closing time on the Friday night of a holiday weekend, when everyone was in a rush to put the long week behind them and get home to the ones they love), and even then, I was greeted warmly and treated well by everyone I met. Needless to say, I am and will most likely continue to be a fan of theirs. 5 out of 5 stars!

Wonderful experience here!…read more I usually trust Yelp reviews a lot but I'm really perplexed but the ones here for Vallee. Everyone here was so nice. They are super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They aren't pushy with their sales. They let you customize. They held on to a ring for me while I was deciding whether to get it - all in all a month basically went by before I decided to buy it. I wanted to change out the stone and Rob found the perfect ruby for me. His sister is a sweetheart. She's fun to talk to and has a great memory. Remembers people and their preferences. I very much enjoyed working with all of them. I also brought in a 22k gold chain that needed the clasp replaced and because they only have access up to 18k gold lobster claws, the other woman in the store gave me a great suggestion to try a local Indian jeweler who might have 22k. They could've easily not said that and just had me buy a 14k or 18k clasp, but they knew the color of gold wouldn't match and we're looking out for me. Also the prices here were very reasonable compared to other jewelers in the area. My 14k gold ring with a larger, genuine ruby and diamond clusters was cheaper than other rings with small, lab-created rubies from other jewelers. And this was even better cuz it was exactly what I wanted. I fell in love with this ring.
