He explained that if the repair person is not very familiar with the phone, they can mistakenly break these two components. I was very grateful for the information, as I had not felt comfortable with the shop I'd taken it to previously. My phone was struggling immediately after I left the previous shop, but I was on my way to catch a flight and did not have time to return to the shop before my trip. We didn't think much of it Bc they offer a "lifetime warranty". We took the phone back today at 10:45. They were supposed to open at 10 but no one was there & it was locked. Called the # & they said they were running late. We continued to wait until the guy showed up. He looked at the phone & said it isn't their fault & that they would need another $180 to fix the problem. He claimed that he thought it was because maybe my daughter sat on the phone. I explained to him that I weigh a lot more than my daughter and I said on my iPhone daily, and have never had the issue. He said, "Well, you have an original screen". I told him that I didn't realize that the screen that they replaced it with wouldn't be similar to the original quality of the screen, & he just shrugged his shoulders. I told him that we already spent a lot of money on the screen & didn't want to pay $180 more. Michael responded to my quote request really quickly and fit me in during a busy holiday week between Christmas and New Year's. He walked me through the process, worked fast, and was very thorough. Before I left, he double checked everything like FaceTime and Face ID to make sure it was all working perfectly. He even added a screen protector for free and would not accept a tip, even though I tried (I still did for the superior service!). Super friendly, great conversation, and his shop was clean and welcoming (plus he has a cute dog named Angel). He also cleaned my whole phone, including the case.
