Adamantine Spine provided a top-quality service from start to finish. As I watched them unload my houseful of furniture and boxes from storage, I was struck by how meticulously they handled each piece, often rewrapping furnishings that had lost or torn wrappings when originally stored. We had a lot of heavy, large things to move, and I was sure they would not be able to fit it all in one truckload, but they did, and every piece made it to our new house in great shape. Loadout was efficient and neatly done. All of our new wood flooring was covered and protected. Near the end we realized that essential hardware (sofa legs, bed bolts, table top connections to a pedestal), were all missing- having been removed by the company that moved us to Madison, Wisconsin. Not knowing when or if we would find them in the mass of boxes, I told the crew to go home. When I found a box with all those pieces the next day, I called and crew members and their manager returned, put all the pieces together carefully, and did not charge us for the second day's work. I give these guys 5 stars. The Iowa City crew loaded us up one day and the DesMoines crew unloaded us the next day. Both crews were excellent. We did not see a dents, rubs or any marks left on any walls. Nothing was broken when they unpacked, and we had several large glass pieces of furniture. They first wrapped them in cardboard and then blankets. First rate in every way. Everything was put in rooms we directed them to place things. Beds were all reassembled and placed where we wanted. We used them to move across the country (Iowa to Michigan). The entire experience from start to finish was excellent. They were responsive, kept their appointment times, nothing was broken, and it was stress free. There were some extra heavy / fragile items that they built a crate for, which they did on-site. This made a huge difference and really protected our belongings. I was impressed with the hustle of their movers - most of these guys are college kids who were jogging back to the moving van to get more boxes. Overall, hiring a mover is definitely worth it. It cost a little more than we expected, but it was something we would do again. Don't annoy your relatives by ordering some pizza and asking your cousins to move the couch - they'll invariably end up breaking something and it will be way more stressful than it needs to be. Hire these guys instead, but still order the pizza - your movers will appreciate it. read more

2 years ago I had an awful moving experience with a different company and I was hesitant to use movers again. But Adamantine Spine Moving was wonderful! They reached out to discuss the move and what I had to move and made sure that they had all the proper things to move my stuff safely. Max and Kyle were my movers and they called me when they were on the way, showed up on time, were cautious about where they parked the truck so my neighbors could still get in and out, and were super fast at loading and unloading. I had used this company for a previous move and it went great. This company has lost all of its credibility. The crew went through my things, mishandled them, broke them, were rude and disrespectful to me as a single female. They destroyed property in my new build. Under tight time constraints with a real estate transaction I was left assisting the crew and was left babysitting their crew for three days. They were not efficient and had poor leadership when on site. When the owners and managers were asked to come and address things on site they refused and were appalled that was being requested. I Wouldn't recommend this company at all. I think I would have better luck hiring my local high school football team. read more

I reached out to Adamantine for a quote for a small move (1 bedroom + office into a 2 bedroom apartment; no couch (being delivered later) and one bedroom set along with a few shelves and general housewares 15 minutes across town. They quoted me at SIXTEEN labor hours for my move. Every other company I reached out to for an estimate suggested 2 movers for 2-3 hours would be plenty for my needs. I moved into my current place with just one person helping in under 4 hours start to finish, so 16 hours is wildly inaccurate. I called to clarify, thinking there had to have been an error or mix up with how they had calculated the estimate but the employee I talked to insisted it was correct. The staff at Adamantine Spine Moving did a tremendous job with our move. From the order through the delivery of our goods we were treated with respect and courtesy. The professionalism of this team is to be commended. The price for our move was extremely reasonable as we secured a truck that would have gone from the Chicago area back to Iowa City empty. Because of this, we did not have to pay for a round trip when we only needed a one-way move - a win-win for the movers and us. Simply put, these guys were top freaking notch! Not only were they in communication several times leading up to moving day, but they were alway courteous in doing so. They were punctual, arriving just after 8AM on moving day. After getting a brief tour of the residence and items to be moved, they went straight to work! They were friendly, personable and attentive to detail. My movers, Kevin and Griffin, spent several minutes carefully wrapping my leather couch before loading it. First of all, it is great to not have to move yourself and do heavy lifting...everyone despises this aspect of moving. Awesome movers! I needed a long distance move from Iowa to Philly. I went with this moving company over others because of their great reviews and they did not fail to meet expectations! Friendly staff, quick response, timely service and managed to keep me updated every step of the way. Everything was well organized from arrival for loading, packing the bed, updating me on truck situations and travel destinations to final day unloading. I also had a car to load onto the back of a truck and the team did a great job - furniture and car was in great condition after arriving. The only downside - they are a bit pricey for single/student movers with relatively few furniture pieces. But if you have a family or a house to move, they are worth the money. read more

I have used Adamantine Spine Moving for 2 moves and I will be using them again. All of my things arrived when they were supposed to, where they were supposed to, and all in one piece! For the reviewers who don't like that they took a long time or are overpriced, I disagree. Both times I have used them I was moving 2+ bedroom households and they completed the ENTIRE MOVE within 4 hours. Yes they did charge extra for a crate to move my large flat screen, but it was worth not having to replace it! I have used other movers who did not take this extra care and ended up damaging my TV. The workers are friendly and professional, even in the middle of a humid hot July day. That brings me to my only peeve: I felt like the guys didn't take enough water breaks. I can't say enough for the quality, care and professionalism of Adamantine Spine Moving. Our move from Davenport, Iowa to Phoenix, AZ was as stress free as possible thanks to them. They packed and loaded our belongings and stored them in their warehouse. Once we found and bought a house in AZ, they reloaded our belongings and moved them out to AZ. There were no subcontracted moving companies involved, they did everything from beginning to end themselves and did it exceptionally. I had a large vintage murano art glass collection included in this shipment consisting of hundreds of pieces of glass. They worked with me to allow me to pack the italian glass collection myself which resulted in MANY boxes of fragile glass that were included with my entire household goods to be moved. Incredibly, the only damage under this entire move was one ordinary kitchen drinking glass. Bravo! Worth every penny. read more

My dogs were barking and one of the staff first came to say hi to them and calm them down which I really appreciated! I used this company to move from apartment to apartment all within Iowa City. I had a one bedroom move but had a good amount of heavy furniture. I was contacted right away by this company after requesting a quote and was given a fair price. Unfortunately I underestimated how long the job would take by an hour or so but that was not their fault by any means - I should have calculated better with the amount of stuff I had. I also called last minute on a weekend to try to move my moving date a day early and they were so kind to try to accommodate me but unfortunately couldn't which I expected and appreciated them trying. The team called ahead of time and arrived early which was great and got moving quickly. They worked quick and problem solved well as the elevator in my building broke that day. The parking situation at my new apartment was challenging since many people were moving-in that day but they worked seamlessly with the other movers and were so nice not to charge me for the time it took to figure out the parking fiasco. Overall they worked quickly without elevators/while it was pretty hot outside and barely took breaks. I was really pleased and even with the extra hour the cost was not bad. They were professional and came prepared with all the necessary equipment. The main office is also super nice and took my many calls prior to the move. Would definitely recommend! read more

Amazing service! My brother and I were moving into a townhouse and had some really heavy and awkward items to move. Combined with the two flights of stairs, neither of us looked forward to this move. We looked into hiring movers to move the "big" things (desks, dressers, etc). A fewer searches suggested going with Adamantine Spine movers and we gave them a call. They were happy to work with us and much cheaper than the other quotes we got. On Monday, we needed to move the moving date from Wed to Tue and they gladly accommodated us. The movers were fast, emptying each apartment in a small fraction of the time it would have taken us. They were fast, helpful and very friendly.
