Do not use, you will regret it. We called and set up time and date for our move. Sent over all the…read morerequested info and was told it was all good to go. The day of the move I hadn't heard anything so I messaged about an hour before the scheduled time. Didn't get any answer. 15 mins before the movers called and tried to cancel because it was "suppose" to rain. I told them I didn't have any other chose because I had to be out that day. They finally showed up, walked around the apartment and said I had too much big items and they wouldn't take it all. We didn't have any other choice so we told them just take what they would. After loading 15 boxes they said they wouldn't take the clothes. When we questioned why at this point they got mad about asking a question and said they wouldn't move us. Said they are not "slaves". I don't think asking people to move the items they are getting paid to move should make them feel like slaves. Needless to say they left without moving anything leaving us last minute moving everything on our own. Tried to reach back out to company and have had no response in three weeks.

Because there isn't a military base nearby, we weren't sure how familiar the crew would be with military moving guidelines but the crew that Hawkeye Movers sent to deliver our items was superb! Paul, Zach and David were highly efficient and professional. They unpacked all the items as requested and did so much more quickly than expected. As the team lead, Paul was particularly diligent and helpful in making sure the delivery went smoothly, noting items that were broken upon unpacking and checking with us to make sure we were satisfied. This was one of the best moving crews we have had in over 25 years of military moves and since this was our last one, we especially appreciated their professionalism. Highly recommend them!

I used U-Pack moving to relocate from Iowa City to Washington D.C. It's my second time using the…read morecompany to move cross-country. I would not think twice about what service provider to use if I move again-- U-Pack is the way to go. CHOOSING U-PACK OR A COMPETITOR: In comparison to their competitors (U-Haul, Pod, etc.) their price is similar. I found U-Pack to be about $100 more than U-Haul, but you get what you pay for. However, you receive a heavy duty metal box from U-Pack that protects your belongings from weather. U-Haul's service is a somewhat flimsy looking plywood box with a tarp cover over it. I might consider them for a very short move (across town) given that no precipitation is forecasted. BUT, weather doesn't have to be a concern with U-Pack because their box is reliable. PACKING THE BOX: As long as you strategically pack your shipping box, all of your belongings should arrive as expected. We personally packed our box both moves and experienced no damage to our items except for a flimsy laundry rack that we haphazardly threw into the unit. Please note that you do need to provide a lock for your unit. COMMUNICATION WITH COMPANY: The communication with their local branches was efficient, quick, and easy. My shipping box was delivered, departed, and arrived at the scheduled times by humans that were pleasant to interact with. In short, I would use U-Pack again in a heartbeat.
