Dr. Robert is on the same page as me as far as taking care of my health. He listens to my concerns and gives me detailed technical info, advice, physical manipulations and exercises that will ultimately heal my body and brain. Never met a chiro as personable, thorough, well grounded and knowledgeable as he is. I've been to many chiros through the decades - from atlas to regular 'neck crackers' but never a neuro chiro and I'm now understanding the difference. Dr. Robert Adam's schooling in the human body is evident and his thoroughness, use of imaging and other diagnostic tools which also incorporate brain functionality and vision have certainly made an impression on me. Also, his knowledge of alternative cures and methods to heal seem limitless. No one asked for a political lecture. Looking for a chiropractor in Sonoma. I asked about the staffs vaccination status. 'sorry, we choose not to answer,' would have been fiiine & I would have been down the trail. In fact, hey do you, and I'll do me,...elsewhere. Nope The office manager claimed she could not tell me under HIPAA. In no way is that a HIPAA violation, especially since I asked about OFFICE policy not any individuals med info. I felt I was non confrontational in stating that's not how HIPAA works. something something..."experimental vaccine and we will not 'impose' that on anyone." ....ok, well, I wasn't insisting you hold them down and vax them by force, so 'impose' seemed a bit loaded to me. I just want to know if I should come in to get my back worked on. Meanwhile the response seemed to be an unprofessional 'imposition' of a political viewpoint to me. Warning to prospective new patients: Adams Chiropractic charges an exorbitant "new patient" fee for an"initial work up." Read that as an opportunity to rip you off before they even lay a hand on you. Most chiropractors do not have this "junk" fee, so take your painful neck/back anywhere else than Adams Chiropractic. After asking for recommendation on a local neighborhood app, I was recommended to Adams. My husband had been having severe pain that went from his lower back down his leg. Adams was able to see him within 4 days of the appt request. They were kind and listened to what his concerns were., Within a week he was feeling better. What I would do without Adams Chiropractic in the last 10 years? I had sciatica/sacrum issues 10 years ago and could not move (Literally). I was helped to Adams Chiropractic where I met Dr. James Adams. He took x-rays and gave me a full examination, consult, and adjustment for around $200ish. I walked out and immediately started recovery. I was so pleased over the year with Dr. James that I referred my 85 yr old Dad to get an examination. My Dad said, "it was the best physical exam he has ever had in his 85 years":) I see Dr. Robert now for minor neck, spine, lower back and always get adjusted well (fixed:). I also receive great instruction on self help and exercises. I now live in Mt Shasta but get to Sonoma every month or so and always fit in an appointment for routine check up. I have been seeing chiropractors for approximately the last 15 years, during which time I've lived in 10 different cities, so I've seen a lot of chiropractors. Dr. Dobson is one of the best chiropractors I've worked with and is clearly on top of his game. His demeanor is professional and compassionate, but what I find so pleasing about my appointments is seeing Dr. Dobson's effusive and undeniable passion for what he does. As soon as he begins speaking, his command of the knowledge surrounding the intersection of chiropractic practice and neurology is abundantly evident. I always feel that Dr. Dobson takes enough time in our appointments to listen to my complaints and understand what I'm going through, but he never wastes my time. In my instance, we met more frequently at the start of my treatment in order to stabilize my issues, and then met less and less frequently as time went on, to the point where I now just have occasional maintenance visits. In addition to an office neurological exercises and spinal adjustments, Dr. Dobson would also assign me exercises to work on outside of my visits. The exercises were designed to address some of my muscular weaknesses or imbalances so that my body would hold itself properly and I was not subject to coming in for endless visits. Unlike other chiropractors, what I have found so interesting about Dr. Dobson's practice is his focus on the neurological component of spinal health. I feel that I was healed in a more systemic or holistic manner than with a "standard" chiropractor. As is so often the truth elsewhere in life, you get what you pay for. I highly recommend a visit to Dr. Dobson if you are in pain. You'll know in the first visit or two whether or not Dr. Dobson and his approach are right for you. read more

I have been a patient here for many years, and I'm not a typically fan of chiropractic. Drs. Adams made a believer out of me. In fact, 3 generations in my family are patients at this office. My husband sees Dr. Laurence, and Dr. Robert has treated my nieces and nephews since they were babies, as well as my mom. There are many facets of the business we all appreciate. The doctors go the extra mile for their patients. They don't rush you. They actually CARE for you and help your body heal. The staff greets you with smiles and if you have questions, they take time to answer you politely - and with clear answers. If they don't have an answer, they don't guess. They follow up. Even the finance office, led by Jill, is amazing. They take the time to actually explain insurance coverage, they do the billing directly so I don't have to, and they make it EASY to do business with them, in general. In today's day and age, when most would say that Customer Service is dead, Adams Family Chiropractic makes a difference for our family, and in our community, by contributing in ways that most businesses wouldn't think of. Dr. Lawrence Adams is the real deal. He is both a healer and a true professional. There are a number of reasons you may want to see him - pain, movement, general health and well-being, or perhaps learning how to age with your health in mind. He has helped me with reducing pain, restoring my health, and developing a plan to get me back on track with my exercise and metabolism. Dr. Robert Adams and his brother Dr. Lawrence have been fixing me up for years. I double fractured my neck 25 years ago and Dr. Robert is the only DC I have been to in the world that gets that part of my neck all the way back in place. I was a 17 year gymnast and am an avid sailor and skier, who sits and drives too much for work. They have kept my system running well consistently. While they do run behind schedule on a regular basis, but the front desk is great at managing it all if you stay in touch with them. Their neck pillows are with me to mater where I travel and now several friends have them too. They help with neck pain and I am grateful to say they help with snoring. Dr. Robert is incredible as a neurological chiropractor. The eye and body exercises he has given me over the years helped me to recover to a near 100% from the car wreck that broke my neck as well as helping hold my adjustments longer and alleviating/eliminating pain. I am grateful for their service and at this point the friend ship that has grown out of them caring for me for so many years. They are also incredibly well networked and have been able to refer me to other doctors of chiropractic when I have lived and traveled away from the area. read more

This is as good as it gets when it comes to Chiropractic care!!! The 3 doctors that are there, are chiropractic neurologists so they really help you with all you got. From fevers, to preventing unnecessary surgeries when your told that's your only option. Totally recommend it, to all my friends and family. With the care I have received here, I have gone to having headaches 20+ times a month (no kidding) to having them about once a month. It is amazing! Dr. Robert does give great adjustments but be prepared to wait 30-60 minutes beyond your appointment time 90% of the time you go! It is for this reason that I can only give 3 stars--it is a problem in the way they book their patients and they need to take a look at this and make some changes so that their patients are able to get in and out more efficiently. read more

In 2004, I had a terrible neck spasm that I was prescribed muscle relaxers to take care of. I went off of all caffeine, and took pills to remedy this. I was never able to gain back full use of my neck. In order to back my car out of a parking spot, I needed to move my entire body because I was in constant pain. Even turning my neck quickly caused pain. When I met my now husband (2007) he encouraged me to get this taken care of instead of living with pain and taking pills to remedy my pain. Additionally, at the time I was getting migraine headaches about once per week. The kind where you have to go home and put your head under a pillow and be in silence and darkness. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Laurence Adams since he was a teenager. Honestly, I was scared. I never liked the idea of the "head-snappy thing" (as I called it). What sold me on this office was the fact that there is a neurology background as well. I had a lot of anxiety headed in for my first appointment. I made my husband come with me and stay with me through the whole thing. They dealt with my anxiety (including tears) very professionally and compassionately. What I found MOST impressive is that they wouldn't touch me until they finished reviewing x-rays and a full assessment of my current state. Anytime I am experiencing some kind of issue (a dull headache between my eyes, an achey-ness in my shoulder, pain in my wrist) I go see them first. It is now 6 years later and I feel amazing! My migraine headaches are GONE. My neck pain is GONE! The muscle relaxers that I was prescribed are GONE! read more

I have had countless injuries from soccer and track and every time Dr. Laurence and Dr. Robert get me back and more healthy than before within a week or two. I can always count on them to get me in last minute if it's ever an emergency. Every time I walk in, the front desk women are always so happy and kind and accommodating, they make me feel so welcome and taken care of! Really disappointing from many perspectives. Understanding that not all healing works -- as it didn't in my case -- overall I felt conned. For example, I had no idea that my insurance would not cover the x-rays done in their office. But I could have had them done at no out-of-pocket cost under my coverage at a local hospital 2 blocks away with a prescription from my regular physician. That option was never offered leaving the impression that this is a money machine rather than a healing center. Most of my appointments were 20-30 minutes late or more, even when I called before-hand to see how there schedule was running (and assured that it was on time and scheduled all my appointments early in the day). The handling of these issues and clarification was done for the first time at the time of my third visit by a designated person within the office whose attitude was less than appropriate as he showed no apparent interest in coming to a fair resolution rather than authoritatively imposing a solution. And, lastly, overall, the practitioner's attitude was one that bordered on indifference. Oh, all the right things were said ("Well, how're we doing today?" etc, etc..) and there was the requisite smile that one assumes is the same repeated performance for each patient, but no genuine contact. It became a bit weird, actually. After a month of this, I cancelled all other appointments. It basically made me very uncomfortable. read more

These guys deserve 10 stars! Dr. Adams has been our family practitioner for 22 years and I wouldn't trust my family's health to anyone else. We have not been to a medical doctor in over 15 years and all of us are the healthier for it! My kids have been going since they were 10 DAYS old (now 18 and 21). They have not experienced any major illnesses, medical upsets or physical problems in their lives due to the excellent care and knowledge of these doctors. I swear by chiropractic care and the Dr Adams' crew are simply the best in the business. Whatever ails you, they can address it quickly and efficiently. The staff is also very friendly and caring. Chiropractic: it's not just for back pain. They can take care of just about everything to do with your nervous system. It's like a miracle cure every time we get an adjustment. Have had a lifetime of back problems and tried numerous chiropractors over the years -- some were reasonably good, some were totally useless. I have been with Dr. Robert Adams for the past few years and he is, without a doubt, the very best. Dr. Robert Adams was a gift from heaven when i most needed it. My worker's comp was of course trying to avoid giving me treatment when I had been awarded on-going treatment by their ruling! I feel so sorry for all the other injured workers who give their best and get injured being a "team player". Don't be someone who "gave too much at the office". Dr. Adams knows so much more about the body and healing than most every other doctor I came across, probably because the AMA has so little regard for Chiropractic. While I know that many chiropractors should not be in practice, when you find the right ones, you will thank your lucky stars! Dr. Adams also spoke with my boyfriend to help him understand what I was going through. I had been suffering terrible lower back pains for close to two years. Probably lifted too many heave things in the garden as I love to plant. I was unable to stand straight for 5 minutes and I was tossing and turning several times at night because of the pain. I was sceptical that a chiropractor would be able to change anything. I just thought I was going to have to live with this pain forever. But I had nothing to loose so gave it a try. After 3 times per week sessions over a period of 2 months, the pain started to fade. Dr. Laurence Adams was able to loosen my back up somehow. And at one day, while I was seated in the car and turned around, something snapped back into position in my lower back. I am 100% sure this would never have happened without the care of Dr. Laurence Adams as he loosened things up. Right now, I am on a maintenance schedule with 1 weekly visit. In my case, chiropractic care worked! And I have to start to understand my limitations when it comes to gardening! read more

After Robert Adams "adjustment" on May 4th, I have been in such severe pain, I no longer run, do yoga, dance, etc. It has cost me financially to try and find someone to undo the damage he caused to my body and so far nothing has helped.
