Took it back in and was told that the owner had personally checked everything and that it had been working- there must be a problem with the wiring. Left without a refund or a fix, I wasn't going down this road again. Pulled and replaced the bulbs myself for much cheaper. Plugged new lights in and they worked without an issue.

However, after leaving a review, the shop reached out to me, apologized, and asked me to bring the car back in. This time they took the time to actually inspect things and found that fuel had gotten into the charcoal canister, likely causing the EVAP codes. They reset the codes and recommended starting with a new gas cap before moving into deeper diagnostics, which I appreciated instead of jumping straight into expensive repairs. While the first interaction wasn't great, I do appreciate that they made an effort to make it right.

It was a bad lifter that costed me less then $200, I honestly think this mechanic thought id be dumb enough to fall for it and was hoping to make lots of money off me. I don't think its A1 but more or less the mechanic they have hired! They should be getting a second opinion or digging deeper if they think people are just going to fall for this and for that kind of cash up. The best part, I knew more about what was going on then he did. He never gave me one answer that was assuring, why would i pay for his work.
