I had a terrible experience with Leavitt Automotive in Logan. I own a small dealership in Provo area, and my son, who goes to school in Logan, had car trouble. His car wouldn't start after stopping briefly, likely due to a faulty starter since there was no cranking or clicking, though the battery seemed fine. After trying to jump-start it without success, we called AAA and had it towed to Leavitt Automotive based on their good reviews. The technician initially said they would test the starter, but later claimed the battery was bad and needed replacement, showing me a test result with handheld device. Despite my skepticism, I agreed to the replacement. The next day, they said the car still wouldn't start and now needed another diagnostic for the starter --apparently, they hadn't tested the starter yet. I had to pay $200 for initial diagnostics and $400 for the battery replacement and additional diagnostic fee to test the starter, so I asked them to reinstall the original battery. AAA then towed it back to my shop in Provo. I had the original battery tested at AutoZone (I wanted to check the condition of the batt.), and it showed as fully functional / healthy - turned out to be a GOOD battery!! OMG!! I called Leavitt Automotive to get refund what they charged ($200 initial diagnostic / $100 battery service), and the representative, Jim insisted the battery was no good. He hung up the phone and never answered. So I called other rep. After more back-and-forth, the owner only offered a $20 refund, claiming it covered the technician's work. Who made a faulty diagnostic?! I paid $300, two tows and got nothing!! My mechanic diagnosed and replaced the starter, and now the car runs and drives perfectly with the original battery--confirming it was a starter issue all along. I'm reporting this incident to the BBB for misleading diagnostics and refusal to take responsibility. The original battery, still in good condition, is proof. This shop is overpriced and untrustworthy. Be cautious--you could end up a victim, too. read more

Jim at the front desk was so nice on the phone, explaining a situation with my car, and checking me and my brother out after our oil changes. He even brought me to see the underside of my car to explain the issue, with help of the mechanic, Jake, who explained everything super simple and patiently. While the problem found with my car was found during the oil change, there was no pressure by either workers to get it fixed immediately by them. They simply explained my options and supported my decision. 10/10 experience and will be going back, especially for their valentine's day BOGO oil change! read more

Be careful, they are known to create problems which does not exist. I would not trust leaving my car unsupervised in their care. They come up with a long list of issues with your car, mostly made-up problems just to charge customer, don't become a victim. read more

Pros: - You can book an appointment online (they will follow-up with you just to make sure of the time) - Their auto shop is clean and tidy - When doing an inspection they will print out a paper that lists everything they checked, your car's condition (rated from 1-5) on each inspection point, any comments, and they will thoroughly discuss the items with you and answer any questions you may have - Punch card for a free oil change after you get 5 - They are on Pocket Points - Quick service - They give back to the community - Friendly, clean and presentable staff - You can support the local economy and local entrepreneurs - Great website Cons: - A little bit more expensive than other places I have been (at least for an oil change and inspection), but you are paying for the best service I have ever received at an auto shop. They read a code and told my daughter there was no use fixing her car if she was going to choose the minimal repair first. Their pushy recommendation was for the maximal cost repair at TEN times the cost. They couldn't prove the repair, somehow completed it between 6pm and 8am, threw the parts in the dumpster and the garbage folks ostensibly picked it up by 8am! It's the miracle repair. So I did because I have no knowledge of cars. They fixed my breaks for a reasonable cost and didn't try to up sell me. A year later (July 2021) my breaks started grinding again and I was upset and worried about how much it would cost.
