Time to find free power to charge up! Plugshare indicated that this was a spot and so here I am. After plugging the van into an outlet in the park, I took the time to wander around the park. Lots of great walking space as evidenced by three people who were walking the look with and without dogs. On a Sunday afternoon, not much going on but it's clear that this is ready for festivals and such with smooth grass areas and power outlets throughout. Lovely park, I enjoyed my time here for sure. You can enter the Depot (free) which is now the welcome center and check out the history behind Kennesaw (which was originally named Big Shanty). They're going to soon break ground in front of the depot to build an amphitheater (very exciting!) which means more space to gather for the community and for events. It's a short walk to the Frozen Cow Creamery and it's directly across from the Southern Museum and Locomotive History. Great park with so much history in downtown Kennesaw.

The park consists of a couple of paved walking paths that circle a multi-use grass field, pavilions, playgrounds and a decent amount of parking for the space. While I have not visited during special events, Logan Farm is heavily used for special events that overflow to or from downtown, and apparently is host to a pretty sweet farmers market. My niece loves the playground here, so each time I visit, and we do dinner or lunch downtown, we always make a stop here so she can do her thing for a bit. The park is clean and well maintained. Overall, nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done well. I'm a fan!

That's also where you will find the puns, some Canadian geese, park benches, and a pavilion with park benches. There's also a little free library. The playground is a great one! There are four kids swings, four baby swings, a few different play structures, and the largest play structure has areas for smaller kids and bigger kids. It seems appropriate for a wide range of ages. We will definitely be coming back!

Cauble Park sits in the heart of Acworth and is a sprawling park that features all the standard…read moreofferings of a park from grill areas, gazebos, walking paths, playgrounds, restrooms and a few other public spaces that are first come first serve...but what makes Cauble Park so special is the beach...yup, the beach in the middle of Acworth! A portion of the park is dedicated to Acworth Beach, which is a fairly good sized sandy beach along side Lake Acworth. The beach is well kept, clean and normally packed during the summer months, as you would expect. They do have buoys in the water noting distance parameters, but the beach does not have active lifeguards, so very much "swim at your own risk". As with other beaches, they offer restrooms and showers adjacent to the beach. While Cauble Park features all the good stuff of a park, it is also a residential neighborhood. To access you either have to live in the city limits of Acworth, and have your respective car tag, or pay a per-car fee to enter. It ranges from $10 - $20, depending on the season. Parking is plentiful, but can be tough on summer weekend days or during special events such as July 4th. Something else I enjoyed about this park is the wooden walkway that took you over Lake Acworth and gave great views of the park, lake and beach. This trail leads into a wooden trail, and while I enjoy paved trails a bit more, I get the preservation of the woods and leaving the trail paved/dirt. This trail is not very long, and dead ends into another residential street. Overall, Cauble Park at Acworth Beach is a well know, but hidden gem in the community! My best friend lives in Acworth, so every time I visit, we make sure to swing by the park at least once.

I see people fishing, canoeing, boating, walking their dogs, and getting into the water at the beach. Personally, I'm not that suicidal that I would get into the water any time soon. What comes to the restrooms, I do not use them unless I absolutely have to. I have attended several events at this park, and I enjoyed them. However, if you come to see fireworks, prepare yourself for a long walk. You might have to park very far from the park. City of Acworth Parks and Recreation is not enforcing parking fees all the time, maybe just on summer weekends? I have never paid for parking here. Absolutely clean, beautiful place.

I hated tennis but my mom wanted me to do this or swimming and this felt less painful than wearing a swimsuit. I also hated boy scout stuff because I hated being outdoors..i.e. the flies, gnats and snakes..oh my...plus there is no TV...) They've kept the place clean and the equipment nice and modern. (The tennis court that we use to use is still there and I see that it's got a fresh coat of paint and new nets.) Lots of the neighborhood baseball teams and softball teams hold games here so it gets lots of use. I'm not sure who is in charge of grounds keeping but they seem to always be on top of things. The trash cans are always emptied and I never see any trash on the ground anywhere. So kudos to them for keeping this park shinny and green! Keep up the good work guys!
