If you visit from outside of Woodstock, please consider swinging by a Woodstock business on Main St so that your sales taxes can partially support the upkeep of this terrific local canine treasure. Great place to take your dogs for exercise. Different areas for large and small breed dogs, plenty of room for letting them run, tossing the ball and exercising them. Down side is the dog park is built on floodplain and it does get wet for extended periods of time after a rain Plenty of parking, it does get busy or crowded on the weekends and summer evenings. Public restrooms and water fountain at the west end of parking. Also great place to park if you want to go walking, biking or jogging on the nearby trails. Woodstock Parks Department does a great job maintaining the trails, keeping them free of dirt and debris, leaves, limbs and an occasional tree that may fall and block the trails. Noonday creek runs adjacent to the trails in few spots. There are benches asking the trail along with trash cans, recycle cans and poop stations for you to keep the trails clean and free of pet poo read more

Oh well this dog park is not for a small breed ( like 7 pounds or so) as the sign says 30 pounds and under! My lil yorkie was not able to enjoy it as he can easily get run over by a 30 pounds dog. The park have enough room to make a small area for small breeds like mine. Hope that in a near future the local authorities think about small puppies. read more

We always enjoy this spot. Long shaded areas to walk, great scenery, sweet dog park. Wish they had more places to sit at the dog park though. People would probably stay longer if there were more places to sit. It's a great place to take pics as well. read more

Like that this park has a few obstacles for the dogs to use (ramp, step up, teepee shaped ramp). Pro: different sections to use not just one big open space. Parking close to entrance so not a long walk of shame if your pup gets vocal on the walk up. Generally more well behaved dogs than swift cantrell. MEH: muddy spots pretty big by the middle could use some attention by the park care givers CONS: the douchey guy whose husky was humping everything that didnt move enough. You know who you are. You are the tool with the grey sweatpants and burgundy hoody who put your dog in the back of your black four door dodge truck... please do everyone a favor and dont go to a dog park until your dog is better behaved. read more

Such a beautiful and well maintained dog park!! New clean mulch, water fountains for dog and owner. It looks like owners are good about cleaning up after their dogs because I didn't see any piles that had been missed. Both the small dog and big dog sides are HUGE!! LOVE IT! This was our first visit to Woofstock with our smaller dog Izzy! When we pulled in we noticed that they had two areas. One for small dogs and one for larger dogs. This eased my anxiety a bit. You never know how these four legged freaks are going to act! :) My boys and I took Izzy in and all of the furry little friends came to greet her right away! This kinda took her back and looked at me as if to say "mom is this allowed"? After walking her around a bit she warmed up a touch. The small dog area is really big! They have a covered area with shade, lots of seating around the perimeter, 2 doggie ramps, and a human/doggie water fountain! The large dog area is pretty much the same. It seemed a bit smaller than the small dog area, but maybe that was due to all of the dogs looking so BIG in there. After a while we noticed that there was a trail with a bridge across the parking lot. We ventured over and walked the trail. Super cool! This trial leads to Downtown Woodstock. If Izzy wasn't so pooped we would have walked farther. We saw bikers, walkers and runners on the trail. The bridge passes over a really nice stream. We have now vowed to bring Izzy here at least once a week. We need to socialize her more since all she has is her big brother Chuck (English Bulldog). She really wants Chuck to go too but knows that he would bite everyone ;) read more

Great dog park. There's a water bowl for dogs that continuously drains so you get fresh water when you press the button for your dog. There's several shaded areas, including a covered area. Lots of close parking, and a double gate entry so there's no escapees. My only issue which lost a star was two days after the rain there was a big mud puddle in the middle. I later went back when there has been no rain for 3 days and it was mostly dry. read more

Previously, I had been having to go out of my way and a little further than I'd like for a dog park. It was a bummer because they're all nice places and my dog loves 'em, but it seemed inconvenient to be driving out every week. Then I found this gem! It's the most perfect spot. There's two fenced off areas - one for small dogs and the other for big dogs. My encounter with pretty much all of the dogs and owners have been an enjoyable one. There's a shaded area, trash cans and bags, water, bowls, and balls and frisbees around for use. Right next to the dog park, there's a pathway that is wonderful and clean. If you go left, it'll lead you down to an opening on 92. If you take a right, it'll take you into downtown Woodstock. There's also the creek that runs along it, and if you've got a water loving dog like mine, they'll certainly enjoy running around in there! read more

This place is a great unleashed dog park. But, it also has a new awesome bridge that leads to a few different trails. It has a nice covered picnic type area along with a lot if signs and mile markers. One trail goes to Main Street Woodstock and the other to noon day creek. read more

As long as you come prepared the mud puddle is actually a very fun feature and the dogs love playing in it. Everyone who visits the park are very nice and the dogs are well mannered. This is a great park. Most people who come are friendly and love to visit with the other dogs- something I appreciate due to my dog loving human contact more than playing with the other dogs. The set back I have is that all the owners who come sit at this one area right in the middle of the park..it is the only place for the dogs to receive shade. I have been a few times and each time something weird or sketchy happens and causes us to leave. 1. Two different people dropped their dog off and went back to their car after putting their animal in the fence. Not ok. 2. Dogs crowd the front door to get in and sometimes get rowdy and owners do not seem to care. I have had an instance of an owner laughing at me when asking if he could get his dog off of mine. I'm still rating it a 4 but it's solely for the ground of the park. Not the people that go there. P.s. It is all woodchips. No grass. read more

Love this dog park. I have only used the small dog side but I am thrilled that they made it as large as the one for the big dogs. There are usually a few other dogs and owners there when we go. Everyone I have met has been very friendly...dogs and people alike. No need to bring water as there is a fountain for both dogs and owners. A bathroom has recently been added so no more port a potties. There are also trails here if you want to walk. read more

I'm a huge fan! We just moved here and were unaware that this park was only about 5 min from us. It's clean and very well kept which is the biggest deal to me, people seem to clean up after their dogs (or someone comes and cleans it extremely well!) the boardwalk is beautiful and the paved trails are great if you want to walk/bike or walk your dogs after you let them play in the off-leash area. I recently started taking our puppy to the dog park on a regular basis. I used to take him to swift Cantrell but he got bored so easily. Now that I take him here he is excited every time we pull in the parking lot. Great space, covered area if it rains, things for dogs to run up on and over, rubber mats where mud may be, clean water for then the dogs get thirsty, provided poo bags. I couldn't be happier having this so close by. Now the puppy runs off his energy in a safe space. read more

Nice park with lots of room for the dogs to run and play. Love that there is a large and small section but kinda breaks up our family who have one at 16 lbs and one at 68 lbs. I do not mind the wood chips but grass would be much better. I also wish there were a few more things for the dogs to play on as many were being used as people seats. read more

What a wonderful place! There is a little dog and a large dog park where both have a good amount of room for dogs to run and to do dog things. Both have doggie water fountains and places for owners to sit while their dogs play. Everyone that goes here is super friendly and going here regularly will end you up with a couple of friends. People here are accepting of the dogs that need exposure to dogs and have a rough time around dogs as long as they are kept of a leash. The bathrooms are a little gross, but at least they have a bathroom. There is also one trail (which splits in to two) that are enjoyable to walk/run on. read more

Can't say I was all that impressed. I simply don't like the chipped / mulch as much as I like grass parks. We encountered rude owners who were not taking an active role in policing their dogs. The layout of the large dog side makes for a bit of a disconnect when the dogs go from one side to the other. It's no fault of the park that the owners we met were jerks. Maybe you'll have better luck. For us we'll stick with the grass dog parks. read more

First of all, there is not enough shade at this park. There's not enough for the people or the dogs. There is also not enough seating. I think it would be fairly simple to even just strap tarps to the high chain link fence corners to create more shady areas. Please add a few more benches. If you have a difficult time standing for long, bring a folding chair to rest in while your dog plays. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by Pitner Road Dog Park, but Woofstock seems extremely boring and bland. There's almost nothing stimulating for dogs in the fenced environment, just mulch and some wooden structures. My dog mostly just lays at my feet at this park whereas at parks with a more natural environment (shrubs, grass, trees) he's very active. I think going with the barren mulched look was a mistake for Woofstock. My final issue with this park is that there is no play area with children. Even a small play structure, perhaps fenced separately to keep the dogs out, would be a huge improvement. It's just not family friendly. Lastly, and this is not a reflection of the park but of dog owners, I heard that a dog was killed here last month. As with any dog park, do bear in mind that some owners will bring their aggressive dogs and let them run loose with the peaceful dogs. read more

After visiting a few different dog parks, this is one of our favorites. Two separate areas for large and smaller dogs, always clean, many obstacles for the dogs and plenty of parking. They have a water fountain for the pups and lots of room to run. The park is very well maintained and located in a great location to downtown and the green way belt line. read more

As a new dog owner, I have been traveling around a lot to various dog parks near my home. I didn't really like this park. Me and my doggie were not a fan of the mulch. I'm guessing it's great for cleanliness but it seemed to make the dog area hotter. And be prepared, there is no natural shade, just a makeshift canopy sitting area. No hills or trees, just a flat mulch yard. I did enjoy the paved walking trails around the area, except there are certain parts of the trails which don't allow dogs. Not sure why, but due to this and the dog park itself, my pup and I will not be making the drive here again. read more

Loved it! Wood chips are great - no worries about muddy which would inevitably be the case over time. I guess other reviewers did not know that this dog park was erected in a flood plain and wood chips were required for drainage purposes. Other dogs and their owners on the small dog side were great! There are no puppies allowed that are under 4 months - this is a good rule because puppies at 4+ months are old enough to start interacting with other dogs and because they've had all of their shots. My puppy is 4.5 months old and she had some fun. She is still getting used to what it means to play with another dog. I will try her in the park another couple of times to see if she gets the hang of it. read more

We love Woofstock! We bring our dog Piper often. They have huge areas to run in and she enjoys running with the other dogs. Many times we leave there and go for a walk on the trail. You can walk it to down town Woodstock and have ice cream or drinks with your pups. read more

When it first opened, it was nice. Now every time I want to take my dog it's just a large mud hole. People posted how they like it because their dog had fun in the mud. I would suggest you buying a pig. I don't enjoy my dog getting nasty and putting them in my car. Also don't care for my dog other dogs getting me muddy. I used to go all the time but now I look to see if it's dry and it never is. Mud holes are not suppose to be part of a play area. We drive to other towns for their Parks and I'm just a mile from Wolfstock. Also it's not good for a dog to be bathed that often. read more

This little park is right down the street from me. It's a nicely fenced in dog park. I do not have a dog so I don't personally use the facilities for the dogs. But I use their walking trails. The walking trails go in multiple directions (so you can take a different way each time). Nicely paved and beautiful scenery along the trails. Each trail has a different destination such as downtown and Hwy 92 area. It's great to walk here. It's always busy with friendly people. I enjoy this little gem quite frequently. read more

We came in with a newly rescued dog. He freaked out a bit from all the activity and got loose. Everyone stopped what they were doing and helped us get him under control again and they all did it with a smile. We were then helped find a harness to help this problem.
