Love our local park with walking trails. It's beautiful for three seasons, Spring, Summer & Fall. You get a variety of things to do while walking along the trails. From nature to trees that are continently labeled. It's wonderful when dog walking or riding your bike, with benches and swings placed throughout the park,, you will have plenty to do. The playground for the kids helps theme release that extra energy giving you a peaceful afternoon. Large open fields are ready for a soccer or baseball game. The intermittent bridges also allow for beautiful photo ops for your social. From your dog to your kids the parks of Cherokee county don't disappoint. read more

Cherokee County's biggest Recreation park at 150 acres is also one of the nicest! It's just loaded with many nice amenities. Football, soccer and lacrosse fields. Running, jogging tracks and walking trails. And a huge playground for the little ones. Plus a newly built recreation center that holds a 200 seat auditorium, a 2 story rock climbing wall, special events, camps, sporting events, instructional classes, and facility rentals. It also offers two full sized basketball courts, officials meeting room, cardio/fitness zone, multiple classrooms and a dance studio. I love going here as there are just so many things to do. Other offerings are Public rest rooms, gazebo with picnics tables and also pet friendly. And you just have to attend their annual Christmas drive through light show. read more

I really love the skatepark here! It is a great place for me and my friends to skate around with getting yelled at by people! But i have to give 4 stars because it is old and gets messed up and they wont fix it. But other than that I live this place!!! read more

This is a really great park anytime of the year as they have quite a lot of new amenities plus the ball fields and walking trails. We enjoy coming for walks throughout the year. However, they also do an AMAZING Christmas light drive through each year. We've made it a tradition where we get hot cocoa and come see the lights. It's $20 per car this year I believe. read more

This park has a little of something for everyone. If you have kids this place is pretty amazing. Tons of equipment for them to play on, and a big variety too. They have a paved trail that goes around the perimeter of the park. It is just over a mile long. It has some small hills but nothing that I would consider too strenuous. They have a skate park, pickleball courts, tennis, and several fields. You can often see kids practicing lacrosse and soccer. They have a small catch and release pond towards the back. I watched a kid catch a decent sized bass out of it once. A suggestion I have is to plant a series of wildflowers and more trees. There are large areas that dont have any shade. Hopefully the right people will read this and consider it. I do love this park and highly recommend it if you are in the area read more

Nice paved walking trail, well marked for distance. Serves a variety of community needs from sports ballfields to small picnic areas, small fishing pond (catch & release), playground, skate park. Newly opened fitness center with modest monthly or annual fee has some nice features: ball courts, climbing wall, a streamlined workout equipment area, a handful of fitness classes, and community meeting rooms. Ample parking. Took off 1 star for areas that are still bare dirt from construction. Hopefully with time those will fill in or be completed; and lack of shade. read more

Beautiful place to walk, run, ride your bike or walk a dog. They did a nice job at this park

Now that Cherokee Veterans park has been around a while, the trees are starting to grow up, some trails are being added in the wooded areas, and now, with the established paved walking path, there is a lovely indoor recreation center to go with it offering basketball, courts and a climbing wall along with a fitness center. This is the community spot to meet for a walk, play tennis, take the kids to the playground, ride in the skate park or watch one of the soccer, lacrosse or football games on the athletic fields. Towards the back of the park, there is a stocked pond where you can either feed the fish or drop a line in for catch and release fishing. The play area is wonderful for kids and it's a safe place to be. There's plenty of space for riding a bike or putting on in-line skates as well. There's also plenty of dogs on leashes and joggers and powerwalkers. It seems like it was kind of sparse for a few years-- young trees only and was fairly empty, but now it is becoming a very popular spot. We feel very fortunate to have this in our community and it's worth visiting. If you're just looking for a place to get out for a new place to walk, where it's mostly in the open, with trees along the sides of the path. There is some shade but the trail is mostly open and in the sun. There are some pretty wildflowers, and I've seen a crane and some ducks in one of the ponds in the back of the park. I forgot to mention that there is also the community garden, but I don't have any information about who actually plants grows and maintains the garden. The other nice part is that there is still some more space that they can develop and I think they are going to be putting in baseball fields. The other fun item is around Christmas where it is all decked out in holiday lights for an amazing drive through display; a fee is collected for this. read more

"Finally a park close to me!" This was my first initial thought when I saw the construction for veterans park. Since it's opening I have enjoyed many activities within and at the park. The tennis courts and pickle ball courts are very nice! I just wish there were more then two of each! It always seams that when I wanna play either sport I have to wait. The walking trail is also nice, I enjoyed that it was paved so that others with bikes or strollers can easily enjoy it too. The distance and lay out is enjoyable and not flat so you can get a nice walk in. The play ground is also very nice and I haven't see a day where it wasn't full! The whole area feels very safe and is great for the community. The drive in Christmas light show is also very fun, I've enjoyed it every year since it's opening and love seeing other getting the same enjoyment out of the whole experience! read more

My boys adore this park!! It's very well kept and has a lot to offer. The skateboard park is one of our favorite. The 2 reasons this review didn't get 5 stars is because 1. No dog park :( and 2. When at the skate park there are a lot of older 20 somethings vaping and using inappropriate language. They're otherwise very kind and don't seem to mind smaller kids skating - but I wish they'd be a little bit more considerate with their mouth... and not drop f bombs and so forth. Other than that, amazing park! We will still go regardless- I may just have to be the mean mom and vocalize to them to stop. read more

My daughter loves to go to this park. Its close by to our home and HUGE. Usually not packed, which is a definite plus now during COVID. Always clean. Also, has options for kids of all ages. I do wish the trees in the playground area were bigger and shadier, but they do have lots of tables and benches under some shady awnings. The trees will eventually get bigger though, they do have some not fully grown Trees planted around. Great park, highly recommend. read more

First time's a charm... wide open space. A relative new park--still smells of wet paint. Has tennis courts, skate park, football field, lacrosse field, soccer field, a 1 mile loop for walking and running, and playground area for the small kids. I went for the run/walk and the boys went for the skate park. The 1 mike loop is not flat and easy for running but will test you as there are many inclines, which is kind of nice to have since most parks are flat and boring. Overall I would recommend this park as a family place with nice clean bathrooms and a great place for the younger kids to play in the playground area. While I was there I saw the Canton police doing drive thru's. read more

This has one of the only skateparks in the area without lights... The city had declined multiple requests to install them even with the money raised by fund raiser. I'm there everyday and I see a wide range of people children and adults alike that care for the park and respect it. It is a great, mostly well planned park. The rest of the facilities at Cherokee veterans are pretty great as well. read more

The holiday lights are the best lights I have ever seen it was really well coordinated with lights that moved and lights that did not there was close too 2million lights which adds up to close to 2 miles long read more
