I have been going to Open Studio for about 6 months and I LOVE it. The class sizes are small (6 students) and Laura is very attentive, supportive, and a patient instructor. The skill levels of each student are different, but she manages to work with each person at the level they need during the 50 minute class. The room and equipment are impeccably maintained, and it is a great environment to try new things. I am constantly learning new ways to challenge what I think is my current level of strength and flexibility. No two classes are ever the same, although certain elements resurface in many sessions. Reformer Pilates builds strength, flexibility and balance, and like the above review, it is in no way easy, but when a session is over there is a true sense of accomplishment, followed by a sense of being more relaxed. Laura's fantastic studio has completely transformed my body over the past year! I've been taking group classes twice a week for the last 14 months & increased my number of classes to three a week the month before I got married in October. Aside from this workout, I'm kind of a couch potato (as in, I sit at a desk the rest of the week and watch way too much TV at home!), but the change has been incredible. Thanks to Laura's instruction & relaxing, small studio environment, my body is more toned and flexible than it's ever been. I can even touch my toes for the first time in my life! Laura is great. The studio is wonderful. It is a small, cozy studio that holds 7 clients. This way Laura is able to really pay attention to each person in the class. Many times I have, or someone else, has come into class with a sore joint or body part. And Laura really takes the time to make sure that each person has a class that is tailored to their needs. In this way, sore joints are not at all a barrier to a great work out. In fact, when I started pilates with Laura I had chronic knee pain. But after working with Laura for a couple of months my knee pain has almost completely dissipated. She really took the time to explain to me how important alignment is to keep your joints happy. read more

I've been going to Laura's studio for several years now. Her prices are good and she has reformers, which is important especially for beginners. Her classes are full, but always easy to get into, as she has wait lists for when people cancel. She has lots of different times available. Free parking in her lot. Routines become familiar enough for you to do them on your own, yet she changes them often so they don't get stale. Pilates is life changing! I've been a student of Laura's at Open Studio Pilates for many years. I never dreamed that I'd still be her student on my 70th birthday, but I am. I actually give Laura a lot of credit for helping me reach this milestone with a stronger, more flexible body than I would have had without Pilates. I love this studio! The owner, Laura is very friendly & welcoming, and an inspirational teacher! You can tell she really cares about her students and will challenge you! The clients all know each other and there is a great environment! The classes are small so you get a ton of personal instruction and the workouts are customizable to your experience level. Open Studios Pilates is a FANTASTIC studio! I've been a customer for over a year and it's an exercise class that I refuse to miss! Laura creates a warm & inviting atmosphere. I had taken reformer classes for many years before moving to Columbia. I wasn't sure what I was going to find here but have been pleasantly surprised by Laura's classes! She is an amazing teacher and mixes Joseph Pilates basics in with contemporary exercises which makes the classes so interesting. I use twice weekly reformer classes as my weight bearing exercise to maintain/increase bone density and am hooked! I've been coming to Open Studio for at least three years. I go two or three times and week and I always feel like I've gotten a great workout that challenged me. Every week there is a "theme" and every workout is different. Laura knows her students well and modifies as needed. The workouts are challenging for everyone, regardless of fitness level.
