This is such a wonderful place. My wife found this place after long hours, days, of researching…read more This place is a complete change from where she was staying before. The rooms are clean. My wife's grandmother smells nice. There are nurses constantly checking on her and they are very informative. My wife and my Mother in law asked me to sit in with them for a meeting they have every three months. I did not speak much. I just listened to the nurse and the head administrator explain how things were going with her grandmother. Medications she's taking, her progress, etc. I am relieved. My wife had been stressing about finding a good place for her grandmother. So if she's stressed, well all the husbands know, than I'm stressed. Lol. Anyway, this place is full of life. I started to take pictures, but I was not allowed to take pictures of the residents, I was told by a nurse, but they had no problem with me taking pictures of anything else. It was for the protection of the residents, which I totally understand. Good for them, protecting the identity of the residents. Everyone there seems so happy. They even have a beauty salon in the home!!! They have activities and they encourage the residents to do whatever they want. They don't force them, they let them go at there own pace. I am relieved. When I saw grandma sleeping, snoring, lol, I knew everything was going to be alright. Oh and I asked some questions about employment tenure. Almost all of the workers there have been working for the nursing home for 10 years+! That's a great sign, because you don't stay at a job that long if your not happy. Thank you for taking care of our grandmother.

I had three people from HNTS call and explained each time that my brother was on hospice for a fatal degenerative disease. I asked them to talk to his care team, provided contact information for the care team and told them based on the fatal diagnosis, that therapy was pointless and unnecessary. But since they could get paid by insurance, they continued to try to do walking therapy on an individual whose motor cortex is degenerated to the point where their therapy was dangerous. I invoked my Medical Power of Attorney and asked them not to contact my brother again. My brother and I are very fortunate to have an extremely good medical care team and are not reliant on HNTS.

My mom had an amazing experience with this company…read more In April 2017, this was the company that took over for Baptist Downtown Hospital for Mom's skilled nursing and physical therapy for about two months. RN Courtney visited Mom on a regular basis and made sure that Mom's vitals were okay. Courtney was relentlessly patient at reminding mom about how she should get up from bed as Mom has orthostatic hypotension. We will never forget your amazing service Courtney! Alma did the first phase of Mom's physical therapy. Yet another exceptional person Alma is. She took care of Mom like her own. Sadly we could not get Alma's availability back for Mom's 2nd therapy phase. Nonetheless, Jim was equally amazing. Jim concluded the therapy sessions by giving me an exercise program for Mom. I have since taken over Mom's PT 3 times a week. Thank you Alma and Jim, for everything! And thank you to Luis (RN), the coordinator who made sure that all processes ran smoothly. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of home health services.

This facility in San Antonio on Four winds dr is the worst and poorly run facility . My elderly…read morefamily member was there for approximately 2 1/2 weeks due to a fall and having to have surgery. This family member was suppose to be on oxygen during the day( which she was) and a bi-pap machine at night for their COPD breathing to help take off the carbon dioxide, which they were not. Giving the nursing staff the benefit of the doubt when they said that it was not in her clinical chart for the bi-pap machine, my family member started having high levels of CO2 build ups. When I called the front desk, I spoke to the director of nursing, I laid out the reason for the call and why my family member needed medical intervention ASAP and I wanted them to call for an ambulance . That nurse told me that she had personally checked the patient, and I was told she's not a 911 patient, that the patient was stable, vital signs were normal and there was no respiratory distress, and I could come to visit my family member if I didn't believe her, which I did. When I arrived at the facility, my family member was disorientated, having a difficult time breathing, twitching, agitated, and seeing bugs on the ceiling that weren't there, all signs of high CO2 levels) A floor nurse came in and asked what do I think is wrong with the patient, I said her CO2 levels are high causing her to experience all those symptoms, and to call for an ambulance, they again told me she was not a 911 patient, I asked then what is your protocol for when you do call for an ambulance or the patient needs medical intervention? I was told they have to get a doctors orders, I said to the floor nurse, then go get the doctor, which she did and left the room. I waited about 30 minutes, a PA came in since there was no resident doctor on the property. (By the way, that floor nurse told me she turned up her oxygen to a 4 liter level due to her labored breathing, not a good thing when you have high levels of carbon dioxide build up. Normally her oxygen setting is 1 1/2 liters. So that floor nurse KNEW my family member was experiencing a difficult time breathing.) The PA asked me what I thought was the problem, I said her CO2 levels are high, look at her, she is experiencing labored breathing, agitation, hallucinating, and twitching, He listened to her lungs, and stomach, and said he would call for a transfer. At the ER, the doctors tested her CO2 Levels, she was at 120,( which is usually coma levels) normal ranges are 35-45. She went straight into ICU, was there for 5 days, and doesnt even remember this episode. How could a competent nursing staff miss these obvious signs? NOW, if I hadnt gone to visit my family member that day, the doctor said to me that she would not be with us today. I wonder what older people do that have no family members to check up on them, do in a facility like this. Save your loved one and go to another facility.
