My repair turned out to be more difficult than they initially thought. The guy came out, the furnace seemed to be working and they charged me for a simple service call. Next day, it quit so he came again, did more stuff and again it seemed to be fine but no additional charge. Sadly, it quit AGAIN on the next day, Saturday, so they sent an additional technician on Sunday. He spent over 2 hours, did a lot more work, and again, NO CHARGE. It's a really complex machine so I can't fault them for missing something but it's the fabulous way they treated me overall that makes them great. BTW, I was burning the very last firewood as the guy left on Sunday. It's been running perfectly now for almost a month and I don't expect any more trouble. read more

MY HEAT WENT OUT . . . and since I had a good working wood insert in the fireplace, I wasn't feeling a lot of pressure. The technician came out in a few days and fixed it, but the furnace wasn't cooperating. It ran fine until he had driven out of sight and stopped. He came back and again while he was there, it worked. AGAIN, that evening it quit. Finally, as I had gone through 1/2 a cord of firewood, another technician came out on a Sunday and spent a lot longer, did a lot more "stuff" and now it's working great. They charged me for the first call, a fair price. The second and third call, there was no charge. I actually feel as if I owe them something for all the extra effort they put into to see that we were comfortable. Had they not come out when they did, I would have really been scrambling to find wood on a weekend. read more

Customer service is poor. Two weeks after Pacific Air Comfort replaced a bad part and serviced my central air conditioning the unit has stopped working again. I've had to make another appointment and wait for a technician to arrive to make a diagnoses at another $140.00 visit. The unit is only 5 years old and was install by Pacific Air Comfort. Pacific Air Comfort doesn't care. read more

PAC was the 3rd maintenance company we've used over the past 10 years. To say they are head and shoulders above the others is an understatement. Two guys, two and half hours, pictures and explanations of everything they did, and a thorough cleaning of AC unit. The company I had been using, Mahalo, put in a bad part last year, had to come out and replace it. We had to wait for a scheduled opening, without hear for several mornings. The AC unit had never been cleaned. The furnace had a test switch taped shut for some reason, and they never diagnosed a faulty overflow pump until it failed to work. read more

Recently I contacted Pacific Air in Roseburg because my heat pump which they installed 5 years ago stopped working. A technician came to check it out. They informed me that the cost would be $150 for the first 1/2 hour plus parts. He found the problem within 15 minutes stating it was in need of a new capacitor. He had one in his truck and installed it in about 5 minutes. He was done working within the 1/2 hour and presented me with the bill. The bill was for $150 for the labor plus $254 for the new capacitor. I picked up the box for the capacitor just to check the on-line price. The price for the exact same capacitor was $8.34 plus about $5.00 for shipping. Wow, I felt totally cheated. It is very normal for the contractor's mark-up to be 100% not 3000%. Most people rely on the professional service of our local businesses and don't expect to get cheated. I think the majority of people don't understand HVAC systems. I have some experience with electrical and mechanical components which is why I checked on the price. Being irritated, I contacted "Don", the representative that installed my system 5 years ago and explained what happened. He said that "that don't sound right". He said he would talk to the service manager, "Erin". Don called me back to say that Erin would look into it. I waited a week and called Don again and was told that he would talk to her again. I waited a week and called Don and was told he would talk to her again. This went on for another month and I finally called Don to tell him how disappointed I was in his company and that I was going to examine my options and that I'm done trying to make this right with the company reps. Right away, Erin calls me and says, to make this right, she will offer a free service with a discount on the parts, if needed. I did not want to sue over this and accepted her offer. Botton line- I'm a disabled veteran with a limited income and don't appreciate being taken advantage of like this. This is disgraceful. It appears that no effort was taken by this company until they thought I might sue. I am convinced this billing policy is common practice. Customers beware. read more

Pacific Air Comfort replaced my worn-out Lennox heat pump system with a two and a half ton Payne unit and new Mortex coil for a total of $2,757. How? First of all, $4,000 of the total cost of $6,757 was paid by the Energy Trust of Oregon, which works with Pacific Power to reduce energy usage in Oregon so that they don't have to build additional power plants. Most of the HVAC companies in the area could access this special program for manufactured homes, but the sales people I talked with told me I didn't qualify because I already had a heat pump. Technically, I did, but it was on its very last legs and running almost totally on the backup electric furnace. Salesman James Keil went the extra mile for me and filed for an exemption. Meanwhile, I also talked with three different people at the Energy Trust, because the whole deal sounded too good to be true. It turned out to be totally legit. They had access to the past utility bills from Pacific Power, and could tell something had gone drastically wrong with my old heat pump. They encouraged other companies to file for exemptions too, since they can always turn them down. James just seems to understand this process better than anyone else. My cost was also held down by the fact that Pacific Air had originally converted my forced-air electric furnace into a heat pump system in 2008. This time, they only needed to replace the worn-out units with nearly identical components. It was really just plug-and-play for the two installers. They completed the whole project by early afternoon and cleaned up nicely after themselves. They even spotted a leak in a washing machine valve that I hadn't noticed. The installation definitely rated five stars, and the equipment is working perfectly so far. So why not five stars across the board? Without the $4,000 from the Energy Trust, I thought Pacific Air's bid was a little high. It originally contained a $750 allowance for an electrician, but I was told that wouldn't be charged if an electrician was not needed. Yet, shortly after the installation, they shot a bill out to me that still had the $750 charge in it. James cleared that up for me, but I'd still encourage people to get several bids from the main HVAC companies. For $6,757, I could have had equipment that was a step above the Payne unit, or similarly rated units for a thousand or so dollars less. At $2,757, however, the decision was a no-brainer. This was still quality equipment with very professional installation. Not everyone will qualify, however, and the process of going through the Energy Trust can take time. James first came out with his bid on Feb.13. It was installed on April 19. Part of the delay was that James sells in Roseburg, Eugene and Coquille, making him so busy that at one point he got me mixed up with another customer and thought I had bought from another company. Then everything had to start over. We didn't actually sign a contract until March 20. My advice is to stay patient, and call James about once a week just to touch bases. He usually answers phone calls promptly, but sometimes you have to call the main office just to figure out where he is working that week. Do your homework, don't be impatient, stay on top of things, and you may get a five-star experience from Pacific Air Comfort. read more

Around the first of June 2016, I called three company in the Coos Bay, Oregon area that installed heat pump systems and made an appointment with all three for 11AM. David from Pacific Air Comfort, Inc. was the only person to show up to give me a quote for the cost of a ductless heat pump system. I went to Pacific Air Comfort office to look at the unit install in their office. Corral was very helpful and show me how the room unit worked and sounded. Then David show me how the outside unit would look like on the stand, and the parts the would run up the outside of my home. The installers show up on time (well almost) and went right to work. I'm very impress with the professional work that this team did on the install. They cover their shoes with booties, put down drop cloths and cover the computer stand with plastic to keep the house clean, We talk about where the unit would be put up on the wall in each room. And on the outside. So that I understood what was going to happen After watching them closely for about two hours I could tell that Hank and Brandon had a lot of pride in their work, paid attended to details, and wanted to do the job right the first time... They went out of there way to make sure I understood everything they were doing, and how it would look when done. After the unit was up and working they check each unit and show me how they work, how to clean the filters and to best maintain the unit. Corral had all the paperwork fill out for the rebate / tax so that all I had to do was sign my name. Even had address envelopes with stamps on the paperwork. Found out we needed to replace the heat pump/air handler, and within 4 hours of calling them they had a guy over to give us an inspection and quote. 1.5 weeks later, I have a new unit fully installed and functional. They handled the permits, etc, and gave us an excellent price compared to another company's quote. Would use them again! read more

Our heater went out , of course, at the very worst time. They came right out and diagnosed the problem. They ordered the part and had it installed within a week. Works like a champ now. They explained the fix-it strategy vs. new one. It was definitely the thing to do. read more

A useless run-around with no resolution or response to multiple messages and a $125 service bill. Called for service problem on a Rennai tankless hot water heater, referred to by Rennai corporate. The problem was simple to recreate: Turn the tub faucet on and the hot water heater can't keep up and throws an error message; works OK for one or two sink faucets. After giving model number info, etc. over the phone and getting an appointment for the following week, the service manager shows up and says he needs to get the manual before attempting to resolve the problem..(really?). Two weeks later.... after multiple phone calls without being able to set up a follow up appointment, I get a phone call saying he can be out there in a couple hours. I'm just leaving the house, but leave the door open because I'm afraid it'll be another two weeks. I come back to a $125 dollar bill and a note claiming the problem is resolved. It is NOT. Same exact problem. I call several times and on the 3rd attempt, speak to him live. He says my regulator is bad and to have it replaced. I schedule with propane company, and after a verification (the regulator is fine btw) that costs $80, I call back and leave message. No reply. I call again and leave message. No reply. I ended up going back to the install manual and after doing experimentation, though my flu was within specification, it was close to maximum. Upshot is I re-routed flu and problem is resolved, but with NO thanks or help from Pacific. Ugh. What a waste. read more

I would not recommend pacific air comfort for several reasons. They sent a tech out to diagnose my current furnace, which they installed, and he said it was no big deal he could fix it for around $1400. A month and a half later I called to have it fixed and they told me they would not fix it but they would sell me a new system... Lol. I argued with the office staff for a commonsense reason why they would not repair my perfectly good Furnace. Their reasoning was "for my safety." Luckily I have worked with other heating companies in the past and New exactly who to call. Mahalo Heating In Roseburg, sent out a tech and his first words were "That's a nice system what's wrong with it." Within a few minutes he Figured out the cause of the breakdown and ordered a new strip heating kit to fix my system. The next week he came out and fixed it for $700 half of what Pacific air quoted. Mahalo heating office staff was organized and communicated very efficiently. I am a general contractor and have used them on other houses and have had nothing but good things to say about this company and the people who work for them. They are professional and provide a quality service At Competitive rates. They were a couple thousand dollars less on a new system than pacific air as well. I Cannot recommend this company. I would call Mahalo for my heating and air needs. read more

This company was responsible for the installation of a new heating and cooling system when my vacation home was built. That system has never worked correctly and the lack of competent service from this provider has cost me many times over. I have now had to switch to a different heating company to correct their errors and have spent far more than the cost of the original, new system in repairs. I would recommend finding a different company than this for heating and cooling needs unless you simply want to keep writing checks. read more
