We paid to park at this parking lot and take the metro to NRG stadium for the World Cup, and it was beyond worth it to get in and out of the stadium quickly without being caught in the stadium traffic. The service is quick, easy and the location is very secure. The only issue you might have is finding a parking spot nearby. I know Houston is not very public transportation friendly but every little bit helps with the traffic congestion. The best part I have found so far is the ability to travel with my mountain bike to the parks downtown and surrounding areas.

It is very close to the large Bus Transit center, and was our way to connect from the bus that took us from IAH airport to the Red Line, which took us to Rice University. The cost is minimal ($1.25 for unlimited rides for 3 hours), and you can buy tickets right on your smart phone. On a Saturday afternoon, the red line trains were running every 15 minutes or so. Also something to notice: there are different platforms for trains going south vs trains going north, so need to pay attention to be on the right platform (they are not connected). In our case, we needed to go South so the southern most platform was the right one to be on.
