The thing I want to write about the Casino which has been left out by everyone else is the very famous Casino Schnitzel Challenge. They only run it or a few weeks during the year but it is amazing. You pay $12 for a pint of Carlton Draught and an eighteen inch schnitzel with salad and chips and your choice of sauce. The idea is if you finish the whole thing including the beer you get offered a tacky t-shirt. Which in theory doesn't sound like that great of a reward but it has become a famous food challenge in Adelaide and is always very popular when that time of year comes around. There is no time limit on it and most people do get there eventually but when I was there they ran out of t-shirts so get in and be quick!

I love the dress code policy of Australian casinos: There is none. You don't have to wear a fancy dress and can just walk in in shorts and flip flops. However, when we were there for New Year's Eve to have a quick gamble before going for dinner, it was a bit different. And it was packed! You'll find heaps of pokies here, roulette tables, black jack tables and everything you want when going to a casino. There's no special prevalent scene or type of people but it's just a mix of everything; young and old, locals and tourists. It wont take you long to find a bar either because there are plenty and service is quick. Overall, I like this casino, even though I've been to nicer and bigger ones. Well, I just like all casinos I think.

This is by far, Adelaide's best kept secret right now. Small bars are popping all around town, but…read morethis one stands true to the whole hole-in-the-wall hidden bar concept. GENIUS. It is so refreshing. If you're not looking hard enough you would easily miss it. Walk in and it's like the prohibition era, from the grungy shelves to the dark, moody decor and booths to the sad music. It is easily one of the best themed cocktail bars in Adelaide. Drinks are fantastic. Some bars have expensive drinks for not much and they don't taste great. Not at Baddog, they are top notch and the barman does it right in front of you on the bar so you don't miss a thing. Brilliant. Best find of the year for me so far.

Zack has built an amazing speak easy style bar that makes you feel like you've ducked back in time…read moreto a prohibition era. The waist coats, crystal glasses and twisted stainless steel and silver spoons all work to make this a top spot for a cocktail or cheeky beer. A maestro of the common and rare cocktails and a range of spirits you wont find in many bars Zack makes this bar. Sitting at the bar is mandatory for the first drink in my opinion then sneak off to the lux booths for quiet and intimate drinks. Its dark, has very cool décor and edgy clean bathrooms. Bad Dog Bar doesn't have tvs, doesn't have pokies and doesn't have tap beer and for goodness sakes never order an apple-tini :) and that's the way we like it. Top Tip: order the pickleback - rye bourbon shot followed by some freshly made pickle juice. The SMoking Joint cocktail is also a fav!
