I've had one or another of their seafood dishes each time. Sorry, without a menu in front of me I can't say which, but each time I was extremely satisfied. The seafood tastes very fresh, the sauce is awesome, and the guacamole is delicious (careful - it is spicy hot). I didn't care much for their salsa that was served with chips until the last time I was there. The first two times it tasted more like Italian marinara than Mexican Salsa. But someone must've said something because this last time it was good - slightly spicy, flavorful, and with lots of cilantro (my favorite). The service has been consistently wonderful. The two dinner times I've visited they were so packed it was difficult to find a parking space, but I didn't have to wait to be seated or to be served. Every waiter/waitress has been pleasant, speaks good English, and has been responsive to my needs. I like the fact that although you have a primary server, anyone from their serving team will come over and take dirty dishes, refill your drink, etc. When this place went in I said "Really?! ANOTHER Mexican restaurant in Marshalltown?!" but I'm so glad I tried it. I've tried most of the others and this is a whole new level in freshness, taste, cleanliness, and service. Someone may say "It's not authentic." I can't answer that. But I know it is friendly, delicious, and fairly priced. I miss Jax Steakhouse like most people in town, but I'm glad a great new place has gone in where our memories linger. I hope Plaza Mexico continues to be what it is as I know most new restaurants have trouble maintaining their original appeal.
