I'll be honest, I'm a total spa snob. The Spa At Stowe Mountain Lodge might be the best I have ever…read moreexperienced. Just walking through the door into the storefront where you check in for your treatment is cathartic on its own with soothing smells, good lighting, and kind smiles from welcoming staff. The [very clean] locker rooms are equipped with everything you'd expect from a quality spa (soft robes, great showers, top-notch toiletries, hairdryers, etc). The relaxation room is warm (in every sense of the word) and calming. There are lounge chairs covered in pillows right by a fireplace with a gorgeous view of Stowe Mountain. There are snacks, handbagged tea, and icy cold coconut water. It's a perfect place to start your unwinding journey. The water lounge is like it was taken out of a magazine, and if I hadn't already been signed up for a salt scrub, I would have spent much of my time in there. The steam room is dimly lit with the sounds of a rainstorm, the steam infused with eucalyptus. The sauna smells like a cherry wood forest and the natural warmth from the himalayan salts inside is grounding. My actual treatment was otherworldly, which is what my therapist told me it would be; she kept her word. I'm running out of words to describe it, but I will say that I felt like I had shed my skin like a snake and that both my skin and spirit were completely renewed. I cannot recommend this spa more. If you're in the area, don't miss it.

Finally, no one really monitoring the spa are so if a large loud group comes through and leaves a huge mess of drinks and food and trash. You might be the one to deal with it (eg no where to put your things, too many dirty drink glasses on vanity no where to sit or find a quiet spot. Not really a "Spa" feel as a result. O heads up if you are looking for quiet and relaxing. This is not it. If you want big family reunion bridal, or mom's weekend away. This might be your spot.

She is a gifted massage therapist who knows just what to do to relieve soreness and stressful tension in your muscles. My daughter in law received an amazing deep tissue massage from Denise. I had an amazing massage here on a day when ski conditions seemed as though they'd be bad. I was pretty beat up from all the kid, ski, and kid-attached-to-skis schlepping; the many, many moguls my older one made me ski with him; and habitual hunching over my computer on top of all the usual aches and pains of my advanced age. A world-class massage therapist named Trish fixed me right up. Trish had wonderful energy and used a medley of techniques, mostly Swedish, touching me in places (very professionally!!) that probably only my mother has touched, including the insides of my ears. I don't know if that would come across as intrusive to another, but it made me feel warm, nurtured, and relaxed. All of her work was so completely non-judgmental and lovely. There are some massage therapists who are very fixated on symmetry, doing the same thing on both sides of the body in somewhat rote ways. Trish was not. She found areas of tension intuitively, working on troublesome areas as she found them. I have an incredibly hard time relaxing and finding stillness. My mind is always racing, it seems, with The Never-ending List of Things That Need Doing. This massage made me still and centered and released so much stress from my body. It was $90 for an hour-long massage. That's extremely reasonable by NYC standards, especially for this kind of quality.

Lucky for me, Katie at the Mirror Lake Inn spa grabbed her hot stones and got to WORK. The 80 minute massage I experienced was truly next level relaxation. I made the appointment for a Friday one week before, and was so excited to get in. The spa itself is gorgeous, though a huge bummer that the sauna and locker room aren't accessible at this time due to COVID. I took a walk through and had envy for everyone who got to enjoy that level of LAVISH. Still 5 stars even though I didn't get the full experience. Staff was fantastic and you can't beat the location. This is the biggest, splurgiest "treat yo self" I'll do all year, as an 80 minute hot stone massage ran me more than $200 with tip. She's not cheap but I will continue to rationalize this experience in my head as 100000% worth it. The need to not pay attention to anything but my back feeling better for an hour was a gift only $200 can buy. This business page is confusing and the photos are more indicative of the INN then the spa. I stayed at the next door high peaks resort and did a service here, and you do not have the stay at the inn to enjoy the spa. Happy relaxing and thank you to Katie and the team at the spa for such an awesome experience!

The Inn looks out over Mirror Lake with spectacular views of the lake and Adirondacks. Our room was large, comfortable, and beautiful. The Inn amenities include small lake front beach, indoor (heated) swimming pool, and the largest hot tub I've ever seen in my life. There are three dining options - upscale restaurant, casual bar (they share the same 4 diamond restaurant kitchen) and a waterfront pub. We spent time at all threes spots. Food and drinks at all were perfect. A great place to stay for a romantic getaway.
