My husband got fleece lined trousers and socks. Aurelle came to my rescue by finding me a wonderful neck cover, think they said it was a snuddle. The staff in this store were so helpful to us Southerners and went out of their way to help us find all we needed. Our friends found jackets, rain pants, gloves and socks. Last but not least we were all able to get a phone charger. Now the very best part is that they were having an awesome sale so we made out very well. Aurelle went out of her way to help us and Nancy the store manager helped me with a Birthday surprise. Now the are having Valentine's Day specials. You will love this store. I have been to other Eddie Bauer locations and yesterday was the first time I've ever been to this one in Lake George. I usually leave other EB stores without anything - simply because the stuff doesn't quite fit me well. BUT...I found an awesome pair of fleece lined jeans that I was able purchase as a gift for someone - and they fit perfectly. YAY! It was pretty busy and there was a long line to check out, but I'll definitely try this location again when I need to either buy another gift or treat myself to something new.

Hopefully this was an inadvertent error on the part of the donor in gifting what was essentially a worthless item. Can't blame Treasures because they can't be expected to open and examine every $10 item. Still 5 stars in my book. Also: they have a Dutch auction system where certain things get markdowns on predetermined dates. So if you want to take your chances, you may get that desired item even cheaper.... or, it may be sold out from under you. But that's Saratoga for you.

I don't know if that's true, or if it's been this busy for 114 years, but it was definitely packed full of people last Saturday perusing the wide array of merchandise they have for sale. Despite its proximity to the Great Sacandaga Lake, Northville is usually a sleepy little town. Last Saturday though, the Five and Dime was literally the busiest place I've been since COVID hit...maybe it was a combination of the 4th of July parade happening soon and the impending rain...but I like to think it's just because it's an awesome shop. Five and dimes seem to be dying out across the country, but if you've never been to one it's like a mini-department and/or general store. They've got all kinds of fun stuff to check out from toys (bubbles for my daughter), camping supplies, hardware, stationary, seasonal decorations (we found some needed graduation stuff, birthday candles, etc.) crafts, housewares, and more. Don't forget to check out the second floor which has a surprisingly nice selection of lake-appropriate clothing (Lakegirl must be a popular brand these days), and a whole room for baby stuff...books, clothes, toys, and more. Most importantly, they've got homemade fudge.
