We came here as a weekend getaway to the Lake George area and other than the outlets, this was the only other place to shop and it was a sad sight. This is the face of the mall situation in America, many store closures and vacant space. Only a couple anchor departement stores remain (Target, Sears, JC Penney, Dicks) and a movie theater. The Bon Ton has now closed as well. There are a few other businesses that can be interesting such as Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret and Planet Fitness gym however there isn't really much to spend money on. The mall is spread out and quite spacious however as you walk through the empty areas it just has a depressing vibe and doesn't entice you to stay inside. Unfortunately, because there aren't enough good stores to generate foot traffic, I suspect the smaller businesses will just keep on shutting down. There is only 1 restaurant and 1 fast food option a the tiny food court, so definitely don't plan to spend an afternoon here. I walked through the whole thing and was in and out in about half an hour. We later went across the street to Walmart and had a better time there. Aviation Mall is within proximity of a major tourist spot, it is unfortunate that it cannot be sustained. read more

Sunday I go to the mall to find a dog in a Chevy Cruze with a big QR Code on the back window (just in case this happens again). After almost 3 hours of shopping I notice yup it's still in the car. Driver window is slightly cracked, but who brings an animal and leaves it ? Police were called and given car info. Security was called and was told "if it was a weather permitted issue" then they could do something. Are you kidding ?? How about if a child was in the car rather than a dog then SOMEONE would have smashed the window and parent arrested. I will always be a voice for animals and children since they can't communicate themselves !! read more

The only thing keeping this mall semi afloat is Planet Fitness and Target. Everything else has closed down and been replaced with some random garbage. Target is thriving, but as soon as you walk out you see nobody and no food court options. I come to the "mall area" for Planet Fitness and that's it. read more

I used to LOOOOOVE coming to Aviation Mall back in the day when I was nothing more than a pip squeak little kid! I used to love visiting this super busy mall, walking around with my parents, checking out all the cool stores. It has probably been nearly 20 years or so, since I stepped foot in this place and WOW... this mall is like a ghost town! It had a completely different energy/vibe about it, there were hardly any open stores in here, and to be honest barely any people!!! How is this mall still open if no one comes here? In many of the stores... I didn't even see people working!?!?!? It was shocking to say the least... I do not think I have ever seen a mall with some many vacant spaces EVER. The entire food court literally had nothing, except for one fast food Chinese space.... how sad and depressing????? :( Needless to say, since my mom and I were hungry we decided to high tail it out of there and search yelp for some better quality healthy local eating options. On a positive note - the mall is still very well kept, clean, good signage for the few businesses that are still there. The mall still offers your basic larger corporate anchor shops/stores for shoes, clothing, etc....such as Sears, a Target, Bon-Ton, JC Penny's, a Dick's, and a movie theater. However, all of these major retail stores even seemed to be lacking in energy and inventory - they all seemed smaller than retail locations at lets say Crossgates Mall or Colonie Center down in the capital region. Ultimately, the mall has not yet hit rock bottom YET, but it is certainly on "life-supprt" slowing dying ... I think that with a matter of a few years this mall will sadly close down completely. I feel as though internet sales and online stores like amazon/ebay, and bigger retailers like Walmarts are thrashing old school enclosed malls like this, and unfortunately they just can't compete with the lower prices and free shipping. I will miss you Aviation Mall, but I will always remember the good times had here as a child. Most likely, I will not be returning or recommending others to come here ... I would prefer to go to Wilton Mall in Saratoga if in doubt... it's a bit closer to where we are located in the Adirondack's and it has more to offer. read more

The worst mall in America. I'm pretty sure half of the stores are empty and it's already small to begin with. 2 stars for nostalgic reasons.

One end of the mall seems to be fairing far better than the other. The food court has next to no options now & once you get past Bath & Body Works, there's not too many stores left. The movie theater was recently upgraded though & there's a Sephora inside JCPenney's now. Still a variety of stores between Dick's, Target, Famous Footwear along with a couple other shoe stores, JCPenney's, Victoria's Secret, Pink, Maurices, a candy shop, a pet store, a couple jewelry places, & a couple phone providers. Always clean, friendly staff at most places you go into, & quieter than some other malls. Lots of empty spaces, but during the holidays those sometime fill with pop-up stores, like Spirit comes in during the fall & a Harley-Davidson dealer came in last Christmas. read more

The Aviation Mall was so bad ass back in the day when I was a small kid! I used to love visiting this place. It's also very interesting to see this place during its peak times and then to slowly seeing it fall to it's knees. One thing is for sure and that is this place has not changed much over the past 20 years of visiting this place. Now I'm 28 and I have been coming here sense I was 11 or 12 years old just to give you a time frame. Its still just as clean from the first day that I step foot in this place. And I mean that in a good way, its very well kept. The issue seems to be what has open up here....And sadly that answer is pretty much nothing. Even the food court has empty spots and you know that means its slowly dying! Just like any other mall they have your basic shops for shoes, clothing and even a Target. To be honest the Target is the best thing going at this location. Prices are good and the inventory seems fair. So while the mall has not yet hit rock bottom I think I will see it hit here in a few more years. Or maybe just maybe they will make a good turn around. So it's still not a bad visit by any means its just not a mall that can compete with the malls of the Boston's and New York city's of the world. read more

Stores are closing left and right. The mall has now lost 2 anchor stores. Bon Ton is gone, and Sears will be closing in November 2018. Once sears is closed the slow death of this mall will speed up. Mall management is clueless on how to attract new businesses. You only have 1 option in the food court and it's about the most disgusting Chinese food you can eat. It would be a fair assessment that more than half of the retail spaces in the mall are vacant and boarded up. The whole place is depressing. If you want shopping goto the outlets up in Lake George. If you want a mall the drive down to Wilton Mall, or even better Crossgates or Colonie Mall is well worth the time. read more

The Aviation Mall is another of those malls that has been around for ages and has gone through a lot of updates and store changes. I like the current set of anchor stores in the mall, but I'm less likely to visit the smaller stores unless they're unique. The food court has always been a bit meh to me; I'm more likely to dine at the Ninety Nine in the mall or the Friendly's in front of the mall. There's very little that's truly unique here, but I would certainly shop here if I'm in the area. read more

Mall staff is incredibly rude. Had to spend $20 for my family to use massage chairs as there is zero seating in this mall. No benches or anything. I got some mall guy don't know what his position is harassing me and my kids. Telling us we better be getting a massage. These chairs aren't for sitting blah blah. You know what? 17 teen store closed. This "mall" is going down hall. I remember coming here as a teen I was the place to be back then. Now i only comes here if I need something at target. Sometimes go into the mall but it's to go Annie Anne's which was one of the stores that is closed. read more

A ton of stores have moved out recently, leaving behind a lot of empty storefronts. They still try to maintain the mall at least. The anchor stores are generally in good shape. Target, JP Pennys, Dicks, Bon-Ton and Sears are all well run. The movie theater has also been upgraded to compete with the new theaters in Saratoga. The seats are bigger and better, more food options. For entertainment, they have recently added an escape room attraction. There is a bounce house occupying the former TJ Maxx space, which is good for hours of entertainment for the little ones. There is also a small arcade. The food court has gotten quite sad, only two stores open the last time I was there. There is a 99 restaurant on the other side of the mall, and a Friendlies on the property. They also have a Planet Fitness gym now. Options within the mall are limited. There are some clothing stores, a few gift stores. Mall staples like bath and body works and Spencers. And of course, a mall pet store. One of the weakest malls I have seen, but there are still a few reasons to go there. read more

i went to the aviation mall and saw a massive line of people going into omega sports. i asked the people what was going on and to my surprise in was jorge posada from the new york yankees. the event was sold out but someone let me buy one of their autographed photos for $10 and the after the line went away the owner let me take a picture with him. what a great day and great store. read more
