Store is clean and extremely well organized by dept, size, gender, color, etc. Tons of gear, apparel, and shoes for both women and men. Limited selection of items for children and limited camping items selection. It's an outlet store so they carry lots of customer returns, irregulars, past season items and damaged goods/returns. Plenty of duffel bags and backpacks that have someone else's name or initials already embroidered on lol. These are only 25 percent off the regular retail price so no one is buying them of course. Like most of these kind of high end apparel stores, the original retail price is jacked up so high that even if you buy at 50 percent off, you're still getting taken for a serious, serious ride...and not the kind of ride you like either. They are still making massive profits on everything they sell here even with significant markdowns. If you're expecting to get a steal in here you'll be disappointed. If you don't mind paying 20 to 40 percent off their outrageous retail prices than you'll have a field day. I've been here several different times hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and have always left with nothing. I literally see tons of people browsing this store each time I visit, but I never see anyone buy anything. Huge selection, but prices are ridiculous. Don't expect to see a lot of this season's L.L. Bean collection here. I also noticed that all of their socks are "irregular" and still have a high price tag. Generally it's a waste of my time to go here, but I'm always looking for super bargains.

I've been trying to avoid shopping at LL Bean due to my own personal political beliefs that have to do with Linda Bean, but I wanted to check this out while I was visiting home and up in this area. The Lake George outlets are not my favorite outlet mall set up since you do have to cross very busy Route 9. I'm originally from the Albany area, so I much prefer the outlets in Lee, MA, since the flow of the shops is much better and you don't need to move the car once it's parked. PLUS, in MA you don't pay sales tax on clothing! I feel like the layout is just not great here in LG. This store is located in one of the smaller "malls" at the outlets, there are a plethora of other stores in this building too. Look for I've been living in California and Florida, so my shopping with this store has been limited to online for the past few years. I had never been to a LL Bean Outlet store, except a quick visit to the one in Maine 25+ years ago, so I was excited to see what they had. I was here at the end of March on a week day, it was fairly quiet at that time. I didn't buy all that much, but there were some good deals to be had. The thing I mostly buy from LL Bean is bedding. I found a great deal on a down throw, it was marked down at least 50% and only cost $35. This item appeared to be a discontinued color as they had about 10-12 in stock. I browsed the bedding section for a while and there weren't many amazing deals that jumped out at me. I had purchased a queen sheet set from here about a year ago for about $100 and they were selling the flat sheet to it for $75. Not exactly a screaming deal in my opinion. There were racks and racks of backpacks with monogrammed initials. If you could find your initials, there were some decent deals to be had. I remember growing up with backpacks from here and the warranty on them is great! The clothing section was hit or miss to me. They did have a lot of good deals on heavy duty winter socks in bins at the front of the store. Be prepared to pick through the racks and also be familiar with the prices of the items on the websites.

There are a few good finds in this Outlet. I was thrown that you can actually buy a travel shaving/toiletry bag with someone else's monogrammed initials. However, there's always that slim chance to might find your own. Clothing, shoes, household items, and backpacks offer a greater selection where size & color are your only barring factor. We found two rain jackets even though the remainder of the week is forecast to be dry & sunny - too bad, right?

L.L. Bean Factory Outlet store in the Lake George Village outdoor outlet mall

L.L. Bean is one of my very favorite retailers, and I was thrilled to find an outlet store located along Rte. 9 in Lake George Village, NY. Unlike most factory outlet stores this one carries top-of-the-line merchandise, and not some manufactured "whoopsies". Plus, their prices are actually discounted from the catalog / retail costs. I was in the area for my niece's wedding, and had an afternoon all to myself, so I drove through the Adirondack Mountains, and ended up at the Lake George Outlets. I spotted the L.L. Bean factory outlet shop and decided to explore the shelves. The store is chock full of outdoor sporting equipment, well-made clothing, shoes, hiking boots, camping gear, sweaters, jackets, and so on. Most everything that you're used to seeing in an L.L. Bean catalog. Some of the merchandise was marked as "Returns" and generously discounted, but the majority was fresh off the manufacturing floor. Outside the store is an entire wall of kayaks, and it was nice to be able to compare and contrast the various models without any pressure. Inside the store, I roamed the floor and picked out some nice dress and casual shirts. After I tried on some of the sub-Arctic parkas just for laughs, and eventually made my way to the registers. Hardly anyone was in the store, so I had the chance to visit with the clerk and also the manager before happily grabbing my bag o' goodies, and then walking over to The Log Jam for lunch.

In particular, we located some great finds at the Columbia outlet, Orvis, etc. The wife located some hard-to-find Nike's in the various sneaker outlets, as well. For the most part, the stores are clean, well-kept, and feature a good selection. Some of the sales were excellent and we couldn't pass them up. The traffic getting in and out can be challenging, and we sat in said traffic for about a half mile given that the road is single lane in each direction and the stores get crowded. If you plan for this, you should be fine. Nothing to do or a rainy day? Don't miss this one.
