This was a fun thing to do on a rainy day in Lake George. There were many stores that interested my other half and I. In particular, we located some great finds at the Columbia outlet, Orvis, etc. The wife located some hard-to-find Nike's in the various sneaker outlets, as well. For the most part, the stores are clean, well-kept, and feature a good selection. Some of the sales were excellent and we couldn't pass them up. The traffic getting in and out can be challenging, and we sat in said traffic for about a half mile given that the road is single lane in each direction and the stores get crowded. Know your prices; know your products. Like shopping? The outlets are a fun place to visit and sometimes you can snag a great deal. There's something for everyone....including a store filled with hot sauces, a jerky outlet and a chocolate shop. If you actually want to buy shoes or clothing....yeah...there's that too. It's super busy during tourist season (summer) so expect crowds and traffic. The stores are open later in the summer so that's always nice. Stopped here on the way back home for a bathroom break and to stop in Polo. I will say this is an outlet mall that is broken up and to shop everything you either need to cross a highway or drive from one to others. It has Polo, Loft, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, and some other places that cover a variety of shopping. As far as polo, my experience was poor. The staff was aggressively friendly - so much so that I put back stuff bc I wanted no more interaction with them. The rest of the stores weren't really interesting to me, so used the bathroom and headed out. Maybe things pick up more during peak hours or the holidays - but 11am on a Sunday it was pretty much dead and there wasn't much going on. read more

It's an outlet mall. The best thing about it, in my humble opinion, is The Log Jam Restaurant. Located as a stand alone structure right smack dab in the outlet shopping center parking lot, it is adult day care for those whose other halves want to shop and you don't. So, as my better half satisfied her shopping jones, I bellied up to the bar for an order of wings (dry, sauce on the side) and a double rum and Pepsi (No Coke ! Pepsi !!). Good stuff. An odd arrangement of stores here. Rather than one central mall, the outlets are located in several different sites, almost like strip malls, which require driving to easily access. One of these areas had a Brooks Brothers outlet, which wee like and visited, but the other stores around it were of no interest. Similarly, next door we found a large L.L. Bean outlet, which had a very good and surprisingly large selection of clothing, shoes and other items. We also stopped at the Timberland and Eddie Bauer shops which were smaller and rather limited in their products. And across the street we found an Orvis outlet, which like Bean carried a large number of items (we sound several shorts and jackets we liked). Bottom line here: be picky. And be prepared to circulate. We thought the sale prices at some stores were minimal, but appreciated more of the values at Bean and Orvis especially. read more

The Outlets at Lake George are one of the many things to do in this area. I usually make a stop at a store or two when I am near by. The stores generally have great sales and discounts. There is a ton of parking around the area. There are stores on both side of Rt. 9 so be careful crossing the road! I have found awesome deals at Vera Bradley and Coach. This is a mall divided by Rt 9. So it has an east and west part to it. Plan your store visits accordingly. You will want to drive from one side to the other. There is a lot to choose from and it's a busy place as a result. At least it was on the weekend day I stopped in. I didn't notice lots of food options in either section of this mall. OK parking. I would certainly come back here if in the area. Not a mall I'd make a detour for though. Lots of traffic on Rt 9 which made it all more difficult. I can only imagine what it's like in the summer. We were here during the weekend of June 23-25 which happens to be a long weekend for Quebecers for their national holiday. Lots of shoppers, the place was full and maybe the bad weather had something to do with it. I am rating the outlet area as a whole, as this shopping district is managed by a group of different companies and the stores are all spread out all over the place in separate blocks. It would have been convenient to have one centralized parking area and stores all around that you could walk to instead of having to hop in and out of your car to go elsewhere. There were some areas we did not visit for this purpose since we did not find it worth it to have to stop and park just one 1 store. You can tell there are either expanding, or dwindling down as there were many vacant stores. For the ones we did visit (DXL Men's Clothes, Coach, Ralph Lauren, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Beef Jerky Outlet, Yankee candles) - The deals were few and far between. Many of these already sell overpriced items, or items that are of lesser quality and made exclusively for the outlets, so you are not really getting a good deal. Walking into Coach for example, you see purses for 300$ but then get excited that everything is 70% off, however your purse isn't worth much more than 100$ anyways and compared to a regular Coach purse, the lesser quality is evident. The clothes at some of the stores were of very poor quality, the Gap had items that were far inferior to Old Navy so if you're paying more than 5 or 10$ for a t shirt, you're already getting ripped off. The candles at Yankee were among the few good deals. They normally retail for 30$ but all large jars were 10$ and many of the smaller candles were 4$ or 6$. If you are a fan of good deals and brand name items, you have better luck shopping at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and the like. These Outlets are still fun to wander around and since there isn't much else in the area for shopping, it's worth checking out. This outlet has the strangest set up and we didnt have any idea it existed until we saw a sign on the highway. Its split up in sections on either side of the street, driveways high and low, separated by mini mall-like sectors. The traffic to get in or out on a weekend (we were there on saturday) was a nightmare. We spotted a Coach store among the visible titles from the roadway. We went inside to a store filled with window shoppers and few purchasers. Despite this environment, the employees were incredibly nice and helpful. We ended up buying two totes and a back pack that we love, love, love! And the price???? 60% off plus an additional 30% off clearance! Crazy deal! I came straight home and made bag charms for them. This was the biggest waste of time. The stores here are so outdated, and no reputable stores are here. Good if you like mountain clothes and such, but if you're between the ages of 18-24, this is not the place for you. The most exciting part was heading back to my car. You guys need to update this place with stores like Nike, Hollister, Champion and others like those. More business will be attracted. So glad it rained! We got to shop!!! We got decent deals and not too crowded. The road can't accommodate outlet traffic so it took a while to get there. Loved the Lindt store, JCrew only carries their Factory line but it's nice to be able to try on. Maidenform had a better selection than amazon but the prices were higher than online.
