Love it! Finally found a place that sells Sujuk :).

If planning on a good piece of fresh meat from that store think again. I did got fooled by the look of a piece marked as "Leg of Lamb" I bought it and stuck it in the freezer right away. Toda, got my biggest surprize when unwrapped it. The majority of it was bones. I did buy legs of lamb many many times before, but never been cheated that way. At Adonis they covered it with a sheet of paper that totally hides the bones that are not part of the leg by any means in a way very clever to fool anyone buying it. and who would drive back to complain?? Amazing the pitas, hummus + Armenian pizza!! Very friendly staff... Plan on going weekly! For those that wrote tough reviews; good to give these guys another chance... Think they have improved a lot. Very clean store + high quality. read more

I finally had a chance to check this store out! The selection is pretty amazing. For the groceries, it is best to watch for their specials or for things that you cannot find elsewhere because the prices are about standard and not necessarily the best deals. However, having said that, I finally had the opportunity to try their takeout and I was not disappointed! I had a craving for cabbage rolls (?????? Where did that come from?). The gentleman behind the counter was really nice and ensured to pack some big rolls for me. The price was very reasonable. They were still warm when I got them home. They... were.... delicious! They weren't your typical cabbage roll either! I am looking forward to returning and trying some of their other dishes! We also come here to get international treats that other grocery stores don't have. read more

I have been to this store a few times in the past and it was ok. Last week I purchased some spring mix lettuce in a container. I went to make a salad with it the next day and it was rotten, was dripping in my fridge! I also purchased a pineapple, cut it 2 days later and the next day it was brown. I won't be returning anytime soon. I also sent them an email about the spring mix (before I knew the pineapple was also bad ) and never received a reply or apology! read more

Place was okay on the first visit so far. What caught me by surprise was the huge baklava section. That was the only impressive part of the store that caught my attention. The rest of it didn't really stand out from places like Galleria, T and T, and RCSS. Clean looking though, for now. Will check it again in about a month to see. read more

Horrible customer service. As a woman shopping at the Scarborough location I was treated very disrespectfully, ignored and even laughed at by the male employees on at least 3 occasions and by different employees. However, all contact with the female employees was positive and appropriate. Another shopper was witness to the rude employee, who ignored me at first and when I repeated myself 2 more times he did not even respond to my question, he just laughed in my face. This other shopper then said it is her experience with the store that the male employees are very disrespectful to women and that they should be required to go through cultural and human rights training. I tried several times to call head office to make a complaint but could not get through to anyone in customer service. Maintain your values and all that we have worked so hard to achieve in this country with regard to human rights, do not shop here until they address the issues. Here's my story... I have two baskets full of shopping and as it was getting close to closing time I decided to set them aside and run for the few remaining items without having to carry them around. Little I knew that there's someone walking around picking up groceries and putting them back. So here's my dilemma...did it ever cross anyone's mind that they belong to a shopper and they are placed there for a reason? I spend 30 min rushing through isles to make sure I collect all the items I need and then this. I encounter the fella as he was coming back to the cash area and he had a smile in his face as if he had completed mission impossible. He's reaction..."oh sorry", like nothing happened. I left the store in a furry as it appeared no one from Adonis really cared. This is not the first bad experience...but will be the last for me. For all you folks out there...if you haven't been there yet, don't go and if you are going, good luck. There customer service has been deteriorating...hopefully someone's is noticing. Everything goes up...but everything also falls faster. Adonis...you have some fine people working in the Eglinton/Warden locations, but you also have some useless ones as well. Today's experience was "0" stars but since this is not possible I guess I'll stick to one. My question would be...could you or wait till the store is closed before you start collecting items to place back? read more

My my only concern about butcher department, my experience with them made me not to buy my meat from there anymore, you have to keep watching them to make sure they are not going to sell you mystery meat. Advice: -make sure when you buy grounded meat, the fresh meat not only cover the top and its at the bottom as well. -Make sure when you buy the meat, always check the price if its the same as what it said on the fridge. read more

This is my favourite grocery store in Scarborough (or maybe anywhere!). The people at the meat counter are completely charming and always very helpful. The man at the seafood counter will joke and joke while he cleans your fish perfectly. The bakery is wonderful! Highly recommend a visit. read more

Nice to find really great Beef Samosa......only problem is...they are never in stock. 1 trip out of 6 actually found Beef Samosa in the hot foods section. They should set up an email program where they can let people know when they are in stock. ;) But seriously...if you are going to sell a product...make it available. read more

I've come here many times for lunch, so I say this with authority. Adonis's shawarma is good, but figuring out their ordering system can be as tough as cracking the Davinci Code. Seriously, the rules are constantly changing, and if you've been there enough, you know exactly what I am taking about! Sometimes to order a sandwich, you have to take a number and wait to be called. Other times you hover until someone behind the counter looks in your direction, you pounce, flag them down with the most gusto, and you are selected to be served next. Sometimes you just arrive at the counter and magically you are served first though others are standing there. It is madness I say! So why bother? Well for $6.49 you get a good sized shawarma with lots of toppings. Also, there is a large seating area at the front of the store that is bright and clean, so you can eat said shawarma in relative comfort before it gets cold. Also, when your belly is full, you will notice that the prices on many items such as cheese and meats are very good! The bakery is also full of amazing selection of breads. The only thing I have found disappointing about this store is I find their produce spoils quickly. But veggies are overrated anyways, right? read more

Went to shop today at Adonis and got everything I needed. Lot of good deals. The food, meat, fish are great. Its food at its best. There were at least a dozen busy cashiers. Will go again. read more

Best multi cultural supermarket ,very clean, fruits and vegetables are top grade , cheese and cold cut are in superior quality from other supermarket , meat section and poultry are in good standing , fish market is perfect by the meaning of not smelling any smell of fish in the entire store ,bravo this the only fish market in Toronto you get in and you don't smell fish , fast food are ok , middle eastern pizza kind cheese and zaatar and spinach are perfect to taste , cake section is well organize with the best French flavour of perfection it was well noted by me , sweets section is full of best in the market products with rich taste, employees are so friendly , I have the opportunity to meet the Vice President of Adonis at the store coming from Montreal but unfortunately I forgot his name he was very kind and ask us if everything's is ok to us in doing our shopping and I admit that for the first time someone asked me about any imperfection in the store from that level directly. Good luck to them we need such level of supermarket in Toronto . read more

This is for the In-house bakery. The first couple of times we came in the white pita bread are done perfect not underdone or burnt. But now we noticed that they are overdone the top part of the pita bread if you look when they are moving in the conveyor belt the bread are halfway burnt. Did they raise the temp. of the oven maybe? How come one side of the pita bread is perfectly done and the other side is half burnt? We mostly go there for the pita bread for we don't live in Scarborough so when we go we try to get at least for 3 weeks consumption but it is very disappointing to drive all the way there for the same quality that we can get in our local grocery 5 minutes away. I hope the management of Scarborough Adonis is really reading and paying attentions to this reviews and concerns of Customers and do something about it. I don't mind driving all the way there just for the bread for we like it but as I say the quality went down halfway since last June our first visit. Thank you. read more

Congratulations on the worst customer service to date. Although I do appreciate your offerings of fresh products, your customer service lacks kindness, professionalism and authenticates a sense of discrimination. I visited the Scarborough location store on September 11. I approached the express check out counter which indicated 1-8 items. Truthfully, I qualified to be in the express check out lane. The items that I had - mostly meat were bulky in nature, so my groceries may have appeared surmountable. As I got closer to the cashier - her name was Mawa - she starred yelling that "she couldn't check me out because I had more than 8 items". I told her to count the items. She refused. She continued to yell and demean me. She said "I was a terrible customer" and repeated that "she couldn't check me out". The check out line was getting longer and I became the focus of attention - as if I was committing a crime. In an effort to be mindful to the customers behind me, I told her that if she didn't want to scan my items - I could simply leave them on the conveyer belt. She then proceed to grudgingly and aggressively ring my groceries though. She kept saying out loud to me and to her neighbouring colleagues that "I was a terrible customer" and that "it was people like me that made bad customers". I interpret that "people like me" meant people of colour. Sensitivity and tolerance training is in order for Adonis! And this ignorant cashier ought to be reminded that it's the customers (despite of their race or colour) are the ones that drive the store revenue, which in turn privileges her to have a job. I asked her to call the store manager after she tossed me bill. She raised her voice, fluttered her arms in the air and yelled "he's over there - go talk to him". I explained my situation to the store manager who was apologetic but also defended the cashier in the same breath by claiming that she had a stressful day. I left the store feeling so disrespected. Adonis, you have some training issues to address. No customer should have to walk away from a store feeling humiliated. Keep in mind, that bad experiences are the ones most shared. There are a plentitude of competitive shopping venues within the city... This is not the only grocery market out there. read more

the most reason which let me give it just 1 star is HALAL cold meat. yesterday i was there as my weakly usual , i went to buy some cold HALAL meat, they divided the cold meat branch to two parts , HALAL and not, the guy who was work there start to cut UN-HALAL one kind of meat on one machine, and by the same gloves he start to cut one kind of HALAL meat on the other machine. i understand that some mistake could happened especially on rush hour, but i asked him to change his gloves , he refuse it and said the order not for me, when i try to explain that he touch the halal meat by the same gloves and its not acceptable , he said that he will clean the machine, so i asked him if u will do it so how u will clean the halal meat!!!!! i cant trust ADONIS after i saw yesterday for HALAL meat. i talked with the manager there to explain it for him, he was nice but i saw him went there and watching the guy, anyway to gain the trust for first time from the people is easy but how can u gain it after u lost is too hard especially for some thing like HALAL products..
