What a cute little farm!!!…read more My husband and I wanted to take our 1 year old son to see some farm animals up close since we were in the area last Friday. We didn't have a lot of expectations given the reviews on here but we figured we check it out for our son. We were pleasantly surprised how much fun we had! When we walked in, we were greeted by the nice staff and volunteers who told us the $4 entrance fee goes towards donations to help feed, house, and care for all the animals. We also learned that they're rescue animals. They have a variety of farm animals to feed and pet including a donkey, ponies, sheep, goats, cows, and chickens. They offer a punch card when you purchase grains to feed the animals too. Our son had so much fun with the animals. He smiled and laughed in excitement which put a huge smile on our face. Keep in mind that the farm is small but they are working hard to expand for everyone of all ages. There's a cute little rollercoaster and pony carousel. They even have a small Wild West theme town for the kids to play on. We had a great time on the farm. Definitely recommend checking this place out. We will be sure to come back again.

It is completely volunteer-run and every penny they receive from donations goes toward their mission. I was a part of a group that went to volunteer our time-we painted faces on dozens of cars. In addition to painting, volunteers can cut out the cars (after signing a waiver and getting some training on the various tools), assemble the wheels, paint, sand, quality control, etc. You can't help but leave feeling happier after working here, knowing that your efforts will make someone happy. Not only do they make toy cars, but they also sew blankets and clothing to donate to refugees or other people who need them. The staff that run the facility are eager to share their story and what they do-they take pride in their work and have refined the process to be as efficient as possible. Nothing goes to waste and they take advantage of opportunities to do things in mass, but still preserve the handmade nature of their craft. If you're looking for an organization to support-either monetarily or with your time-consider this one.

The store is setup more like a boutique than a thrift store, which makes the experience feel a little nicer than just bargain hunting. Whomever is in charge of dressing the mannequins and putting out the displays does a fantastic job-it really sets the tone of the store and looks incredible! The inventory might be a little less than some of the other second hand stores in the game, but I think they might cater to an older, more classy audience than folks who want to look like they buy their clothes at a thrift store. (Nothing wrong with either group!) Based on the clientele I saw here, this is the perfect place to bring your mom or grandma or to get a lovely dress for a tea party with a matching hat. They have a nicely stocked warehouse and a store entrance for clients to get an allotment of food sustenance. It is staffed with friendly volunteers. I drop off an over abundance of my garden vegetables; today, a couple of big bags of peaches and some tomatillos. They also accept canned food donations. It's great to have this resource for those who might be in temporary need of food and also as a place to donate excess produce from the garden.

Every year I look forward to the first week of May. Temps are warming up (hopefully) and we're past…read moreour last frost (usually) which means it's time to get out to the garden. I find myself singing "It's the Most Wonderful Time of The Year" out loud in garden centers and making a fool of myself giggling at nurseries. It is, in a word, Spring. For the past several years I've relied on the WCG Plant Sale for all of my vegetable garden plants. I just bought a boat load of tomatoes. In fact, this is where I buy them every year. Heirlooms aplenty, and some varieties available nowhere else. Heirloom varieties of squash, melons, and other edible perennials fill the parking lot waiting to go home to be planted, cared for, and harvested. There's also a long and distinguished list of herbs for sale, and lots of great non-edible but waterwise perennials for sale. It is heaven. Springtime garden heaven. If you want the best selection, make sure to arrive early. Like, an hour early. If you're there to browse, skip the crowds and come around 9 or 10. You'll still have plenty of varieties to choose from. Plan on spending a few minutes in line, but you'll be surprised at how well they move people in and out of there. Plants are cheap (starting at $2 for the little guys) and going up from there. Cost is secondary, because this helps raise money for the awesome programs at Wasatch Community Gardens. Super fun event, great plants, nice folks, good cause. A win all the way around!
