Upon my initial meeting with Richard, he suggested things to put on my website that never crossed my mind. From start to finish they have helped me to take my website to the next level. From the support team, including the production manager, Glerica, to the photographer, Ashley, I have a website I am proud of. Thank you Your Web Guy team. Sunshine M.

I was promised to be walked through the entire process. I was told that pictures would be provided and if something specific was needed, like copywriting, they had plenty of referrals. I was given a timeline that my custom site would be completed in 4-6 weeks, and follow up would be in the next day (or by Monday at the latest). From there in weeks 1-2, I would setup my client portal for communication, have the domain transferred by their team, schedule any pictures or headshots, and after I selected from their available templates, they would spend the next few weeks building. Over a month later on 6/18/20, I had not heard from YWG. I contacted Richard the owner, and he apologized by saying that their new employee had dropped the ball. Soon after I had to find a copywriter to help me write the content because I wasn't given any direction. After I returned the website copy to them, it took a few weeks turn around, which I expected. I received a notice that the site was complete, and I was appalled by what this company considered complete. I questioned the fact that they had simply copied and pasted the 3 pages of content I had sent over into my new website. Richard explained that they only copy and paste, and I would be responsible for fixing anything else. I expected more hand holding as promised. I expected the site to be custom. Instead I got a template website that the content I provided was plugged into. It took 4 months to get the headshots I was told would be done in the 2nd week. 5 months into the project I was finally fed up with no contact or assistance in the design of the site. On 10/12/20, I sent a Demand Letter requesting a refund, where I offered to pay $500 to cover the cost of the pictures. But, I was met with hostility and untruthfulness. I research the clients listed on their website and found out of 131 clients, 3 are duplicates, 14 are not available due to site errors (including mine), and 20 sites are designed and hosted by another provider. I was told that the headshots alone would be $1,500. Which I found to be overpriced, considering the photographer's site states $350 for 3 hours. Richard laughed and said the site was outdated, yet it appears on the client list with a current " 2020 - hosted by YWG" I was repeatedly told that the money I paid had been spent, and there are no refunds. Because YWG had provided me a "completed" custom website. As such I requested a copy of the "invoice", and subsequently did my due diligence on the process of web design. I was charged for: 5/18/20 - 5 hours of script installation into the Content Management System (CMS) - $500 - Which 3 web designers have told me that it would take 1-1.5 hours at the most to load basic data into the CMS - I'm also not sure this happened since they had forgotten about me and the project until I contacted them on 6/18/20 5/20/20 - 1 hour for Domain Setup or Acquisition - $100 - This never happened. Until 10/30/20 my site was still untouched on GoDaddy.com. 5/30/20 - 4 hours of Layout Integration - $400 - Which I have been told by each of the 3 developers that loading the template I choose into the system wouldn't have taken that long since it's a pre-scripted, and I only wanted to change the colors. The layout of the template wasn't actually touched until August. Again the dates seem off here since they had forgotten about me and the project until I contacted them on 6/18/20 7/30/20 - 3 hours of Content Integration - $300 - Which I'll direct you back to the conversation with Richard in which he told me that the developer copied and pasted into my site. I'm not sure what else to say at this point, besides reiterating how bad this experience has been and how promises that were made were not kept. I don't like that they continue to blame and bully me for their lack of communication and service, and refuse to provide a refund.
