I've waited to write a review for Bespoke for some time now, as the process of skin healing can be one that requires some patience. To be honest, even the process to first book with Bespoke was one that I mulled over for months. As someone with sensitive skin, facials have always been a service that I thought was just not for me. Even when estheticians or derms knew "just what I needed" it would often result in excessive drying or breakouts that only further frustrated me. But between Bespoke's in demand business which sometimes resulted in lack of availability for near term appointments and price point hesitation, I put off booking for almost a year. Finally, I felt like I had no choice. I was experiencing cystic breakouts that I could not identify the cause of and despite dietary changes, the breakouts still continued. They were spontaneous, unexpected and so frustrating. So I went in with an open mind. I had followed Adrienne (the owner) on Instagram for awhile as well and always loved her soothing nature, knowledge and approach. She's not into harsh chemicals or stripping the skin for a "quick fix." Instead, her and her team have an approach that rehabs your skin over time, ensuring that each, regenerating layer is healthy. I started seeing results within the first few months, booking facials (mostly DMK enzyme facials) every 6 weeks and using the Osmosis and DMK products suggested to me for skin care in between appointments. At first I was wary (albeit feeling desperate) because these costs added up. But I will tell you, they were well worth the investment and my skin responds to them so well. Over time, the frequency of my breakouts lessoned month by month. At month 9, they're now infrequent and continuing on the path to non-existent. Earlier this year, I wasn't even sure if this was a possibility but trusted the Bespoke team in blind faith due to their knowledge, professionalism and genuine care they've shown from business to client. They take meticulous notes, suggest products without pressure and are well versed and are very capable of explaining the science behind skin care and products. The provide a safe space to feel comfortable and heal. The vibe is professional and chill while still being a high end, boutique business (sans pretension.) I mostly have to give credit to my girl, Jill. She's been the person at Bespoke that has been with me for 90% of the journey and is a true gem. But even before her, I had another wonderful team member work with me and she was truly lovely as well. Although Jill is moving away, I fully trust the Bespoke team and know if I ever had any future concerns that they would happily address them and operate in my best interest. For that, I'll continue to support this business and praise their work. They're moving locations and adding some new services and offerings, so I'm excited to see how they'll evolve and grow. As long as their approach to skin care and client relations remains the same, I will always support this business (even if the frequency changes over time.) I had the most incredible experience here today with Jess C. It started off a little hectic since google maps will take you to their old location, but thankfully Jess called me and directed me a few streets away to their gorgeous new spot. Make sure you input the actual address and not just the name when getting directions! I haven't had a lot of facials so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was so happy with what Jess provided. She did a very in depth skin consult asking me about everything from my diet to my current products. I appreciated the holistic approach and all of the variables that were considered when customizing treatment. The facial itself was so relaxing and I loved that she wasn't pushy about products at all. She gave me a few samples to try out and I can't wait to come back in a month. I've been going to Bespoke regularly for about the past 5 years. In that time I have seen three estheticians, all of whom were excellent. My current esthetician is Nichole W., and I truly can't recommend her enough. She has made significant improvements to my skin, especially to acne, which I have struggled with for decades, and some aging. I do purchase the products she recommends, because my goal is to have long-term skin improvement. However, I have noticed that Nichole is mindful that people have varying financial situations and is helpful in choosing products to prioritize in the event I'm not able to buy them all at once. I wish I could have come here during my teenage years, because at that time I took every acne medication under the sun and saw minimal improvements, while Bespoke has been able to heal my skin and keep it healthy. Beyond the skincare, I want to highlight Nichole's kindness and the way she genuinely cares for her clients. On at least two occasions I've had an appointment after going through some major life challenge and each time Nichole listened as I told her what I was going through and made my facial a place to escape everything that was going on. She also helped ensure the products I was using were appropriate for the situation I was in at the time. It might sound minor, but these days it's hard to find people that take the time to truly listen to their clients, and that's exactly what Nichole does. After ten appointments over the past year, I've decided to call it quits with Bespoke. I have struggled with hormonal acne since early 2020, and began seeing an aesthetician in Phoenix during the pandemic. Bespoke was recommended to me by a friend to continue treatments after returning to DC last fall. I saw Lexi and Dominique for four facials and six enzyme therapy treatments. I also have purchased and religiously used all products they recommended to me, and have seen zero improvement. In fact, the supplements recommended caused a massive breakout, the scars from which are still healing. Additionally, Lexi cancelled on me last minute once (literally 20 minutes before my appointment) and made very little effort to reschedule. After one treatment with my aesthetician in Phoenix, my skin is showing more improvement than after 10 appointments with bespoke. Don't waste your time and money here! read more

I've never been more pleased leaving a facial than I have with my recent experience at Bespoke Aesthetics. Sydney was extremely knowledgeable and really listened to my concerns during our consultation. Based on that, she tailored the facial accordingly and I saw instant results. My favorite part about Bespoke Aesthetics is that they focus on a holistic approach, nourishing the body from inside out. It was comforting knowing that they weren't just going to push harsh or expensive products. There was absolutely zero pressure to buy any of the products they carry. Adrienne changed my skin. She helped ME change my skin, my approach to caring for it, and my understanding of how the skin actually works. But I need to rewind a bit. Late 2016 was hard for me personally, and my stress triggered a massive change in my very sensitive, persnickety skin. I had painful, deep, prevalent, persistent cystic acne along my jawline and had no clue how to make it stop. I was prescribed harsh, drying products from other aestheticians and dermatologists, but they only made my skin angrier, drier, redder, and more painful. I'll be honest--there were even days I didn't want to leave my home because I was uncomfortable with the condition of my skin and the way it looked. I am not a vain person, but it was that bad. I just wanted to hide. I needed help, so I did some research, and I found Adrienne. I contacted her immediately, and she responded promptly, warmly, and helpfully. I went in for a consultation within a few days. That consultation changed everything. Arienne gently and thoroughly reviewed my routine as well as my skin. She explained that my skin barrier had literally been stripped and burned away, that my poor skin was essentially an open wound. After my initial treatment, she went over home care options and set a plan into place to heal not only my barrier, but the melasma that began to surface after the birth of my daughter, and the residual scarring that had occurred from the acne I'd been battling. She set my expectations and explained that this was all a long-term process, and I'd have to work at it, too. She recommended a home care regimen that consisted of gentle, wholistic products that were designed to heal and hydrate. Honestly, the minute she applied the first one, my skin felt more soothed and cared for than it had in years, and I nearly cried it felt so good. From that moment, I knew this was it for me. My skin was really and truly completely healed within 6 months. I was (and still am) diligent about home care, and at first I saw Adrienne every four to six weeks. I received retinal infusions, gentle enzymatic peels, and IPL for the melasma and scarring, neither of which exist any more. I actually get compliments on my skin, and am often asked what I am doing, what my secrets are. People are pretty surprised when I tell them how old I am, because my skin is really healthy. Once things leveled off and my skin was in a very good, balanced state, Adrienne suggested that I start to see Jaime, who is an angel. She's gentle, knowledgeable, and really, really kind in addition to being an expert at what she does. She explains everything thoroughly and makes really good choices and recommendations based on however my skin has been behaving and the history recorded in the very detailed notes. I have learned so much from her and trust her implicitly with my skin. Her treatments are healing, relaxing, rejuvenating, and all around pleasant. She's just a gem of a person and I wholeheartedly adore her. Years later, I visit Bespoke loyally and still follow the home care plan religiously. It's evolved over time, but it's always in tune with what my dry, sensitive, delicate skin needs. What I love is that there is absolutely no pressure to purchase the recommended products, but they go over why something should be used and how it should be used. The treatment pricing is a flat fee, which makes things more comfortable for everyone. Yes, it is expensive, but I feel it's worth the investment. I don't even wear makeup anymore, and rather than a cabinet full of half-used products purchased with guess work, I know exactly what I am using, how much of it to use, and how long it will last me. It's a system that works for me. I cannot recommend Adrienne, Jaime, or Bespoke Aesthetics enough. They're experts who approach what they do with experience and a deep, intimate knowledge. They've helped me tremendously and I will forever be loyal, appreciative, and their student. I just had the best facial of my life - I wish I found this place sooner! I saw Lexi who was kind, very informative, and took the time to get to know my skin. I have never had a facial involve so much detail about going over my routine and offering gentle and knowledgable advice. I appreciated Lexi's advice for home care and feel like I got a really good quality consultation in addition to the treatment. For the facial itself - I could feel that each step of the facial was working on my skin so there will be tangible skin benefits, while also the experience was rejuvenating with facial massage being incorporated throughout. I purposely waited a while before posting a review on Yelp in order to share my full experience. I have been a customer at Bespoke Aesthetics for about a year. Let me say, while pricey, my skin results have been amazing! I struggle with breakouts and as a darker-skinned woman, hyperpigmentation, and scarring. My skin is also very sensitive to scents, extractions and deep cleansers. What I love about all the estheticians here is how thorough they are. I've been to countless dermatologists and most have not compared to my experience at Bespoke. Each time I book a treatment, I know that I am getting a truly individualized experience for my skin type. At first, I booked facials monthly but now I am able to wait longer in between treatments. I appreciate that the staff here gives their clients recommendations without being overly pushy about buying their products. In particular, I want to give a huge shout out to Sydney! I really, really wanted to like this place. It got rave reviews and is in swanky area, so I was expecting top-notch skin care. My esthetician was incredibly sweet, but clearly knew nothing about ethnic skin. She gave me a series of recommendations that I told her would make my skin break out, but she insisted that she knew what she was talking about and that I needed to try the new methods out. She also recommended I purchase some supplements from her that sound incredibly sketchy and were insanely expensive. I didn't. The facial itself was incredibly underwhelming- I basically paid someone over $200 to wash my face, and my skin looked exactly the same after. As other reviewers have commented, their extraction removal method isn't particularly effective. Still, they got all these great reviews and I was trying to take better care of my skin so I tried the recommendations she made after I got home. Unfortunately, after 3 days, I experienced the worst cystic acne breakout of my adult life. I hadn't had widespread cystic breakouts in years, so I know it was the newly recommended routine and products. I immediately discontinued the use of those products, but it took over 2 months for my skin to recover. If you have ethnic skin, DO NOT go to this place. Response to the owner: I found an amazing esthetician that was able to clear my skin up after the debacle at your overpriced spa, and shockingly, the products she recommended did not strip my skin or cause a "purge" of horrific cystic acne. My skin was glowing after each facial, and has remained so for months using the gentle products she recommended. And FYI, my endocrine disorder didn't cause a sudden cystic outbreak- your employee's terrible recommendations did. Nice try on saying this happened because of my health issue. It is a chronic issue that has not changed. The only variables are the care and recommendations of your employee. People of color have different skin needs, and it is alarming that you can't seem to grasp that. The lack of accountability is seriously telling and another reason I suggest that people stay far away from this place. I really wish I'd looked at your Instagram before making my appointment. I said my results were underwhelming and that seems to be your specialty, even with repeat clients. To anyone considering this place, I suggest you save your money and go elsewhere. This place is absolutely not worth the hype and was very, VERY expensive. Several others have posted similar reviews. Sure, there are a ton of 5 star reviews, but they're almost ALL from brand new accounts. I hesitate to share photo evidence because I was SO embarrassed of the state my skin had gotten to. I started seeing Allison in July, and she has completely changed my skin and helped restore my self-confidence. (Both pictures are taken without any makeup on, six months apart.) Allison would be the first to say that I've done the work too: eating better, drinking more water, changing my birth control, and generally taking better care of myself. Very bleh experience; like another reviewer here wrote, I paid $150 or $200ish to look exactly the same after. A little overdue! I had my first facial at this location with Jill maybe 3 weeks ago? We started with a consultation where she asked questions thoroughly about my skincare routine and diet. I've struggled with acne for about 13 years and i have PCOS. Everything she talked about seemed spot on and she was very encouraging! The facial itself was amazing! Super relaxing and I've had previous facials that hurt especially during extractions. I had a huge cystic breakout when I came in, my cheeks had deep cysts that I could barely touch. I was AMAZED, how she was able to extract them without me crying. The facial then ends with a massage! Afterwards, she talked about some products she used on me and some that they have and she wasn't pushing them on me at all. I really want to love this place. I've been here three times (spaced out way further than they would recommend, so maybe I'm not giving it a fair shot?) and purchased the products by osmosis they recommend, a cleanser and a serum. I'm going on a year and a half of using a pricey serum and the cleanser, and honestly... my skin looks the same or worse? It's very frustrating to go to them, say I'm worried about my skin and be sold the same bottle of stuff that doesn't seem to be doing a lot for me. Pros: you don't have the after facial extraction, giant craters in your face look when you leave this spa. They are very talented at performing extractions without traumatizing the skin. That's the main reason I come back. Cons: a huge con is scheduling. They book up very far out. I also feel like based on the other reviews that I would have gotten more education about home care than I did. Besides the two products I mentioned, I didn't get a ton of insight into how to help improve or at least maintain my skin at home. The biggest con, of course, is that I don't feel like I'm getting results from the treatment. I'll probably try this place one more time before looking elsewhere. read more

I don't even know where to begin. Before coming to Adrienne, my confidence was at an all-time low. I was breaking out in horrible acne all over my cheeks, jawline, and the sides of my forehead. I was at my wit's end. I even tried giving up makeup, to no avail. I tried a vegan diet. I attacked my face with moisturizers and benzoyl peroxide. I spent tons of money on a 10-step Korean beauty routine that didn't work. None of it helped. And then one night I was feeling super down about an especially horrible breakout, and I stumbled upon this Yelp page for bespoke aesthetics. I was hesitant to get a facial but the reviews convinced me. I booked an appointment and a month later I met Adrienne. Adrienne is not just an aesthetician; she is a healer. I went into that first meeting in February feeling defeated but hopeful. Now, 6 months later, I still have some faint pink marks where my acne used to be but other than that, my face is completely clear. It's incredible. The combination of facials and the products they use is keeping my skin looking better than ever, and I feel better than ever before. The products they use work with your body to heal your skin instead of attacking the symptoms of the problem. They go straight for the source. For example, Adrienne told me that the likely cause of my acne was a hormonal imbalance caused by pollution, and she gave me an entirely natural pill to take every day. I was shocked to find out that not only did it help keep my acne at bay, but my once long and excruciatingly painful (endometriosis) periods became totally manageable. I don't even get cramps anymore; it's incredible. I wonder if I even have endometriosis anymore to be honest. This is after taking antibiotics for long stretches to keep my acne at bay (unhealthy). Doctors suggested accutane and birth control; both of those would have only masked the underlying hormonal imbalance. I can't thank Adrienne enough for moving her business from London to DC in order to be closer to family. It is truly a gift to have her here and we are very, very lucky. She is a true healer and her mission is to help people. I came to Adrienne with a disaster, she gave me a consult and recommended products for me to start before my initial facial because my skin was going insane. I then booked my facial with Kayla and my life has changed lol. I'm not exaggerating. She's taken such good care of my skin the past few months and my skin has improved so drastically that I only wear foundation/concealer when I go out to the club or a party or something. I also find Kayla to be super sweet and I enjoy every appointment I have with her and look forward to it. My experience getting a facial today was everything I hoped it would be! Allison has a lovely touch and approach, and I felt like I was in good hands throughout the entire treatment. She was also very thorough and professional, and took time to answer all my questions. I've had two facials (one with Allison, the other with Jessica, both knowledgeable, skilled and very pleasant) to tackle some ongoing mild acne that I just want to get rid of. Between the first and second appointments I had already noticed a dramatic improvement in both my overall skin quality- it looks healthier, shinier, and fresher, as well as a noticeable reduction in acne. In addition to the great treatments, the products they recommend are of top quality, effective, and not insanely expensive. In fact, the daily cleanser they recommended me cost $20, and will easily last 2-3 months. This is a clearly trained, knowledgeable and caring team in a beautifully appointed space. After a stressful week at work, I vaguely knew that laying still and away from my cell phone would be good for me, but my experience with Jill Dunn today blew me away. Jill was so sweet from the moment we met. She started the session by asking smart questions about my usual skincare routine and what I hoped to get out of my facial today, and I noticed that Bespoke Aesthetics did a great job of keeping notes from my last facial here. During the treatment, Jill was very thorough, and it was clear that she had listened to my preferences and concerns. She occasionally shared helpful observations about my skin and previewed what she was about to do, but also knew exactly when to be quiet so I could relax. Well, I'm impressed. At first, I was hesitant to pay the hefty $170 for a signature treatment aka a facial, but it was well worth it seeing my skin today. I'll give a full review below. Location: It's right over the bridge in Georgetown so it's pretty simple to access but there's only street parking. If you're coming in the evening or on the weekend, I'd give yourself some time to find a spot. The location of the actual business was a bit tricky to see with the naked eye. It's on the side of one of the smaller buildings and its insides are still laid out like an original Georgetown townhouse. It caught me off guard at first (because with that pricing I expected a lot of "extras and frills") but this places price is solely for the quality of the skincare they provide + being in Georgetown. Skincare: I went in to help alleviate my problem with blackheads accumulating around my t-zone. However, every facial I've had before has left me red, irritated, and sensitive for days after. My appointment with Jessica did none of those things. I went to work right after and the extraction points were barely noticeable. This morning, my skin is clear and glowing. I'm very happy with my results so far and I plan on making it a habit to come to bespoke every few months for maintenance. Their products are a line from Osmosis MD and DMK. Both brands have natural ingredients (I read it on the back) and are definitely safe for sensitive skin. Overall: I was going to only give four stars because during my facial there was some type of construction happening downstairs or next door which was really distracting along with the windows being open when I had to change (it was the back of the facility but I still didn't want some random guy walking by and seeing me topless ya know) but after seeing my skin today I decided to bump it back to five stars. It's definitely worth it if you want a no nonsense experience that focuses solely on your goals for your skin. read more

I go to a dermatologist often but never trusted getting facials since my skin was so sensitive. I read so many great reviews for Adrienne Shostak's team and their holistic approach to skincare so when my skin was at its worst this summer, I made an appointment with Kayla. I just finished my second visit today and couldn't be happier! Kayla is super knowledgeable and helpful. She's a total skin guru and really tries to help you understand your skin and how to get it to be at its best without judgement or pressure to buy things. Both visits were super relaxing; she did an extraction and then a bunch of different things that she walked me through. My skin was super congested but two weeks later it was literally at its best. Great customer service. Great attention to detail. But the results for me weren't as great as I have had at other places. This place for me I think was just really hyped by the other reviews. But to someone who may not have this much to spend on a facial (because they are certainly more on the expensive side) I can say that you aren't missing anything. Again great people and great customer service. But my results were not worth what I paid. I expect to be glowing the next day and I was just oily. I think the products just weren't made for my skin. read more

5 star perfect rating for a reason. I don't know what took me so long to find this place. I made an appointment with Lexi got in fairly quickly when it was convenient with my schedule. The place is beautiful and relaxing. I did not have to wait at all when I got there and I got there early for my appointment. My facial was about an hour and a half. Osmosis products were used, which I use at home. I thought the price, which includes gratuity , of 190 for what I got was a very good deal. I made an appointment before leaving to make sure I come back prior to leaving DC. I just don't know why I waited so long to take care of me. read more

As pretty much every review on this page says, the Bespoke team is phenomenal. Like many others, I came to Adrienne with a problem -- awful, painful hormonal acne triggered from going off the pill. My doctor offered me spirnolactone, but I saw that as a bandaid, that didn't actually solve the issue of a hormone imbalance. In our initial consultation (a year and a half ago), Adrienne took the time to understand the nuances of my case, and made it clear from the start that she *gets* it, she has been there, she has experienced having acne and knows how frustrating it is to try product after product with nothing ever working longterm. Anyway, I began a homecare routine right away with some of the Osmosis products (that I'm still using today) and at Adrienne's suggestion, began taking a supplement called DIM (comes from cruciferous vegetables) that has been absolutely life changing and I can't thank her enough for introducing me to it! I started by seeing Adrienne for facials once every 2 months or so, and then eventually "graduated" when she said I no longer needed the super advanced stuff that only she can do (like IPL). So I started seeing the other therapists as Bespoke grew. After only a couple months, I saw dramatic improvements and was able to stop covering up my face with makeup. Now that breakouts are under control, I still see the Bespoke team for maintenance/lightening of dark spots and scars every 3 months or so. I just had my second facial with Kayla today and I think she is fantastic - so warm, funny, and full of info about skin, conditions, and products. Love her! The facials are a bit of an investment, but it is money incredibly well spent. I can't thank the team enough for giving me back my confidence. I will talk about Adrienne and her team to literally anyone who will listen and will gladly recommend them to any of my friends. So don't worry, you will be in the very best hands! read more

Adrienne has really changed my skin. I have a host of medical conditions that used to make my skin painful and irritated most of the time. My face was always red, inflamed, and flakey -- terribly embarrassing! A friend recommended Adrienne to me and almost instantly I noticed an improvement. Now, 1.5 years later, my skin is clear and healthy. I'm no longer embarrassed by my complexion and I can even go out without makeup and not feel self-conscious. She really tailors her treatments just for you, and she has the expertise to help even the worst skin issues. I can't thank her enough. Also, the products she carries are amazing -- the Osmosis products, as well as Adrienne's own skincare line. They are so much better than anything else I've ever tried. Her seaweed serum not only helped my face, it also cleared up the severe eczema I've had on my hands for most of my adult life. I realized in the course of putting in on my face that it was curing what was on my hands. Even strong steroid creams never helped, but this really did. In sum, this place is amazing!
