OK, REWIND! Unwind Wellness has won me and my partner over. We really haven't stopped daydreaming about our experience ever since and are looking forward to our next spa date. We had such a pleasant encounter with the receptionist, Nicole, from the moment we walked in and were placed with 2 masseuses who were top-tier and gifted with the art of touch. Our couples massage was beyond rejuvenating and serene for each of us and we were truly able to decompress (and leave a lot of muscle knots behind on the table)! We both left feeling SO much lighter, connected within our bodies and to each other, and grateful we accepted the offer to give Unwind another chance. I am so impressed with the level of intention and care that the owner, Antonio, has displayed in making sure that we were in the absolute best hands the second time around. He was very apologetic that we had an off day on our first visit and really turned things a total 180. It's evident that he is passionate about his business, is extremely detail-oriented (the decor is GORGEOUS!), and has strived to exceed the 5-star reputation his establishment deserves. In a world where self-care tends to be an afterthought or a treat, I'm feeling inspired to carve out time to visit Unwind Wellness on a regular basis. I've been to Unwind Wellness several times now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite places for bodywork in DC. If you're looking for massage therapists who actually do real work, this is the place. I've seen both Helen and Heajin, and they are exceptional in different but complementary ways. Helen is incredible for deep tissue, especially hip work. She goes deep, she's effective, and she is not afraid to work through tension. This is not a light, spa-style massage. It's therapeutic, intentional, and results-driven. Exactly what I want. Heajin specializes in Thai and lymphatic massage, and she is phenomenal. Thai massage is more like assisted stretching, and she incorporates it beautifully. She also took time to explain lymphatic flow, gave me tips on how to support it at home, and clearly cares about long-term wellbeing, not just the session itself. One thing to note: at Unwind, therapists may get on the table with you, especially for Thai or deep tissue work. That's part of the technique and something to be aware of if you're new to that style, but for me it speaks to how seriously they take proper body mechanics and effectiveness. The space is calm, professional, and welcoming, and the level of skill here is outstanding. I had just gotten through an incredibly stressful time at work, and that calls for a massage. I booked it sort of last minute, but I got a spot on Sunday with Liliya and headed over before my appointment. I'd been to this location before and also had a pleasant experience, which is why I went again. I was very happy to see that the Adams Morgan location now offers facials and other services (last year it was massage only), so I'll have to check that out. My therapist came to collect me on time, and we walked up two flights of stairs to the massage room where I got undressed and onto the table. For future massages, I need to remember that my shoulders get tense and ask for focus on that because Liliya was working very hard on them to rid areas of tension. (It's not the first time I've had a massage therapist note shoulder tension.) But when she got to my legs, I felt more relaxed and almost fell asleep. Lying on your front for a while causes some congestion, but it eased during the face-up portion of the massage. Maybe the warm towel over my eyes helped. This is one of the best massages I've had that I can remember. When I was done, I was ready for a nap. I'll definitely be back. read more

I get a sports massage before each big running race I do. I run the Vermont Marathon this upcoming Sunday. I knew I needed to get a massage, but I've tried a few places in Capitol Hill previously and the massages were not great. Thus, I expanded my search bubble and found Unwind AdMo, and I'm glad I did!!! Nina gave me the best massage I've ever had - her technique was amazing, I was never uncomfortable, she focused on the right spots to get those tight knots out, and she made me feel very comfortable. Pricing was right on par for DC too. I will always come to Unwind Wellness now - even though it's ~40 minutes by metro/walking away, compared to some local spots I could be at in 5 minutes. It was a treat indeed! Two personal bottles of Prosecco and two delectable chocolate mousse cupcakes. They were so yummy The massage was a sound reintroduction with almost two years since my last professional massage. The reception here was also great! Super helpful and attentive. This is back to my favorite spot for massages! After my last experience, Antonio (the owner) reached out. I was a bit wary at first especially since I was still upset but he was very respectful without being overwhelming and truly wanted to connect and fix things. He seems really passionate and dedicated to his business of improving people's quality of life and pays it forward outside of his business. I'm really amazed by him and now it's just another reason to return! In any case, I ended up returning tonight and had a very smooth visit. I didn't realize how locked up I had been feeling but Max busted through so much of it. I will say I like very strong massages that seem to hit the right pressure points but it's also not for the faint of heart. You just have to trust the process and the results feel worth it! Driving back home, I inevitably ran into drivers doing dumb things but I was too relaxed to even get mad. That was how good the visit was! I'll definitely be back again and happy to recommend Unwind Wellness. Strong massage game, heated beds, friendly owner, and post-visit free vibes. It all makes the price worth it again! Btw I saw a recent review complain about being asked how much tip the customer would like to give. I'm sorry but maybe consider saving up for the tip next time or just going to a cheaper place. The best massage I've had in recent memory--thanks Naomi! The spa is in a row house. My room was two flights up though there are rooms on the main floor. I got the Signature massage with CBD oil My friends got me a gift card here for my bday and there was enough to cover an add-on so why not? I had an incredible facial with Naomi and a truly wonderful deep tissue massage with KaaZima. Naomi was super thoughtful, gentle, and had great tips for taking care of my skin at home. She recommended the addition of the high-frequency wand and the results upon looking at my face in the mirror as I left were clear (like literally clearer, pores noticeably smaller, hydration so much better, congestion majorly lessened). I like a super deep pressure massage and KaaZima did not disappoint; I carry a ton of tension all over my body and she did a fantastic job addressing everything. You have not lived until you've had a massage by Max. Seriously, the best massage therapist that I've ever experienced (and I get massages fairly often). He does tend to do more deep tissue massages but I just let him know that I'd like less pressure and he follows suit. He is very thorough and kinks sure he really works out all the kinks and loosens your muscles. I always walk out of there feeling like I could do a backflip... but I don't. Online booking is super easy as well. You can select your therapist or just go with whoever is available. I have only used Max so I can't speak on the rest of them. They also take appointments by phone and the receptionist is always nice. If you come during the week before noon, you can also get a $10 discount. read more

I treated boyfriend to a birthday afternoon of hoopla which included a couple's massage. My criteria included a place with great reviews, in walking distance of our place and workable timing. Unwind Wellness hit the mark! Scheduling an appointment was smooth and easy upon calling. We were greeted warmly by two therapists, male and female(you can specify by gender or by therapist specifically) and invited to follow. The studio is located in a fantastic brownstone sort of building. The room was set up with two tables and we began our massages! I prefer a harder hand than bf and it seems like we both got what we wanted. I booked 60 minutes, but I'd definitely go 90 next time!
