She commented on the selection and nothing else. In hindsight, I should have run for the hills. We went to the showroom several times to walk the warehouse and choose the perfect stone. Quartz is what we ordered. Pierre and his brother own the shop and while they were never overly friendly, they were professional. The day we came to order the stone and discuss details, things went well and Pierre scheduled us within weeks for measurements and install further out on the calendar. Supposed to be two dates (measuring and install). Prices weren't cheap, but weren't the most expensive either. I was so excited that this company seemed to be on their game. His brother came to quietly take the measurements on the scheduled date. Install day comes, two men show and wait for bigger guys to help them. Bigger guys arrive and carry pieces in and determine they did not bring the right size. So the whole install day is scrapped and we get scheduled another two weeks out. This time only three small guys show up without proper equipment to bring in massive slabs of stone. They rest an over 9 x 5 foot slab on our wood step denting it. THEN after getting it into the kitchen, chip a whole corner off of the island top, turn around to see if we saw, and spend about 40 minutes trying to glue it back together which we said we won't accept. It was probably a 4-5 inch piece busted off the corner. The workers (specifically one I did not get name of) get irate at us and call their boss Pierre. Lots of yelling in a different language and I get handed the phone to say we need a new piece of stone and the step will now need repair. (Pierre agreed to both without apology). The one worker was so rude every time, he was actually scary and we really didn't want him in our house again. So we get rescheduled yet AGAIN. This time, two men (who had been out prior) come out with the stone and only do part of the job. No reasons why, but explaining your process to customers (that you do the counters, then island, then backsplash at all different times) would be nice. I can't even list everything that went wrong. The sink cutout that we paid $250 for was done wrong. It was to be flush as stated in the initial meeting. Apparently Pierre didn't write that down and blamed us for the problem. Even when it was recut, it doesn't match our sink (that they had the whole time). They wanted to use these huge, ugly black plastic brackets for under the sink. We had to go buy our own stainless steel brackets to use instead. They won't use clips or glue. They hacked into our drywall and cabinets to make their ill-measured stone fit. The backsplash doesn't go up to the bottom of the cabinet (they told me that's not possible), so big gaps under the cabinet and between the top of the backsplash. Caulking cracked within a week of install though the temperature was the same in the room. The grout (or glue) between the stone at the seams is missing/has gaps and is yellowing. I sent photos and called Pierre about this. We were rescheduled for a recaulk once after being told it was a temperature problem (which it is not). It's about skimping on product and using cheap materials. We were treated poorly at every touchpoint after the initial sale. I am very disappointed they don't stand by their work and that our kitchen has zero warranty.

We had many builders in and out for bids, they either were no show or simply not up to the task. Kyle builders are probably the most communicating company that I have met in Michigan. My wife & I are retired and have lived in many Countries around the world because of my job and had contractors but none was as efficient in communications as Kyle builders. I want to break down their strengths and how they deserve my 5 star rating: 1) Communications: They meet on weekly basis and email the schedule plus they are available on the phone if you need further clarifications. Kyle is an early riser and you will get his emails by 5 AM or even earlier 2) Very punctual and stick to their schedule unless weather is a detriment to the quality 3) Their work quality is excellent and their subs are well vetted. KBI always has a supervisor check the work of their concrete, brick steel etc. 4) They simplify the project financially by dividing it on stages and respective stage payment. They finish a stage, you pay them but they ask you to check the work first before you pay 5) They clean up after the project and are willing to do their best to make you satisfied. I am glad I chose these builders, I am very happy with the quality of work and the quality & courtesy of KBI supervisors and workers (owners are included in this compliment). In all I highly recommend them and I just chose them to do two more projects for us in Oakland Township, Michigan. Do not hesitate.

We had our $70,000 brick deck completed when we built our new home in Rochester, MI. Upon…read morecompletion of the project, the cement floor had such a rough finish, my kids were scuffing their feet and bits of cement were chipping off the surface. Apparently, too much time elapsed between the pouring of the cement and finishing the surface. Fine. I paid for new tile to add to the surface and they took care of the labor. A couple of years later, there was more than a significant amount of rust buildup on the entire stairway, the exposed metal that supported the deck and the stairs. I contacted Jeff and Kyle and was told that I had not maintained the deck properly and they wanted a significant amount of money to come out and repair the problems. I was stunned at how much they wanted to charge and their quote was verbal, nothing in writing. I hired a painter on my own instead. Fine. A few years later, bricks started to fall off the deck in certain spots and water was leaking behind and over each side of the deck, causing discoloration on my house beneath the deck and on the brick sides of the deck itself. I complained to Kyle and Jeff and was told I was not maintaining the deck properly. They wanted in excess of $15,000 to repair the deck. This again was a verbal quote. I asked for a quote in writing and was told by Jeff that he would get to it, but that they were very busy. After several months trying to get a quote, I still have nothing and Kyle and Jeff have stopped responding to my requests. I have neighbors with similar decks on either side of my house and neither one has had the issues that I have had. Their decks look great. What infuriates me the most is not that the job they did was so poor, but they use religion as a way to gain your trust. My experience is that their behavior after the job is complete and when problems occurred is that of hypocrisy.

I foolishly paid him the total balance for the entire job even though they didn't do everything that was promised with the expectation they'd come back and finish the job they were paid for. Big mistake. I've been contacting Kevin for now over a year and half trying to get him to do the right thing and finish the work. He has upselled me on a new cost to get the remaining job done after I have already paid him. I reluctantly agreed because of the position I'm in and he still hasn't honored his commitment to completing the job despite me agreeing to pay him twice for the same job. He called me on the phone in November and gave me his word he would make it right. Still nothing. Just a repetitive cycle of ghosting and poor communication. The driveway is chipping already and flaking to the point I will have to pay for repairs on top of trying to get the job done. This job was done in July 2024. Very frustrating and downright insulting that this company doesn't honor their commitments and disappears on you. I paid 12k for the entire project and it is devastating when a contract company can't deliver on the work they promised but have no problem taking all your money from you. To these companies 12k may not seem a lot but to the everyday person like me who works a normal job this is a huge amount of money to spend that is taking me years off to pay, all with the job undone. All you ever ask is for people to do the right thing and this company hasn't. If I were a new customer I would have them sign a binding document that holds them to the entire scope of the project otherwise they might disappear on you like they did with me. I cannot recommend using ReliableConcrete based on my experience.
