    ADT solar

We just bought a house and after a good experience with ADT growing up, I without a doubt went with ADT for protection and solar. That was a mistake. For ADT protection: The salesman Dennis was pushy about me signing up for a referral program even when I stated I didn't want to. He also missed a huge window in my bathroom, right next to my daughter's room, that I am now responsible paying $200 to add a security sensor to (including an installation fee) which I would only have to pay maybe half the cost if he included it in his original install. When I brought it to his attention, he said he "doubts" his boss will discount anything for us even though he admitted he was the one who messed up. He said he would ask the boss if they could discount anything for us with the window alarm. Then he ghosted me for 3 months. Finally, he responded to my many texts and calls, as I desperately wanted that window protected, with "oh. I thought you didn't want to pay the full price. It will be $200 no discount." I then turned to ADT customer care for help, they gave me the runaround and never helped me either. So disappointing. ADT solar: the salesperson Youan promised me many times that we were "for sure" going to get a full $14,000 back on tax credit, guaranteed no matter our income. As long as we put the $14,000 within the first 18 months back into our solar loan, our payments will stay at $250. We even have footage of his promises, as we have a living room ring camera. We asked around with a few different tax preparers, and it turns out how much you get back is based on income. We don't qualify to get the full $14,000 this year, but rather will get it over the next few years, meaning our monthly payment for solar will go up to $350 unless we can come up with $14,000. I learned this a week before the solar install was supposed to happen. I called Youan and Ryan (his manager) and they basically told me Youan didn't know that, and oh well. They also told me to text them when I decide if we want to move forward or not. We took some time, got some other solar quotes, and decided to still move forward. Never heard a word back from either of them. Overall, ADT has great systems and does offer good to average deals in terms of price and added benefits. However, their sales people and customer service people are absolute liars and untrustworthy. Once they get your money, they are done. It is the worst.

They handle my alarm problem efficiently over the phone. They were very knowledgeable and very polite.

I signed up with Secure System June/July 2022. They showed up with a bunch of equipment and bulky…read moreequipment that I wasn't expecting. After reluctance I agreed since I was having to leave to North Carolina for work and needed a system for my house. I purchased a second home in North Carolina not long after. I installed SimpliSafe in that home. 1. The system you buy what you need, and install it yourself. The equipment doesn't leave residue. There are no holes or wiring involved. 2. Secure System, stated the system had 24 hour back in the event of power outages. It's Bakersfield, in the summer power outages are frequent. I kept getting calls at 2 am to notify me or the next person in my list o contacts, that we had a power outage. Like who wants to be wakened up at 2am to be told you have a power outage ? Ok, thanks, but don't I have 24 hour back up power in the system? Yes, but we thought you should know you don't have power at 2am. 3. I signed a 3- yr contract for $70/month I tried to ask if I could remove some of the windows they said, you can remove them but we will continue to charge you $70/month. Then the bill went to $78/month. I contacted multiple times no response. 9 months later and im finally in Bakersfield and go personally in to the office. They tell, me oh, maybe a mistake you shouldn't be paying $70 that was a mistake. So since April 2023 I've been paying $78 not $70 as per the same contract that they were holding me. 4. To end my contract early I paid Secure System $826 to end the contract and have them remove all their equipment from my house. They come, remove and LEAVE all the residue, wires, and holes in my walls for me to go clean. The guy who came said, the stuff comes off with Goof Off. I have to go buy things to clean up and patch up their mess. Save your self the time and energy and go with SimpliSafe, $24.99 BETTER service and equipment. You can add or remove whatever you want when you want, I can drop down to $14.99 a month if I wanted to and create schedules on the system. Now I need to pay for someone to patch and paint the holes and clean the reside Secure Systems left behind on top of the $826 I paid them to get out of my house. RESPONSE TO MOLLY: 1. Unfortunate, you can't event get my name right. My name is Jessica per the contract and Yelp page. 2. Thanks, but Molly needs to try to attempt to discourage people with the Cellular Fear to make sure people are afraid and come get stuck on the same issue I did. I have a BS, Chemical Engineering. I've done extensively comparing Secure System to other systems and that's why I can, and WILL continue to help other people not fall for this company willing to cause damage and mess in people's personal property like a home. SimpliSafe partnered is with ADT which is a reliable safety company that LYFT also uses for leading the industry when it comes to safety. Even LYFT uses and partners with ADT for passengers. The cameras send real time video in the event it needs to seen real time to send RESPONDERS !! SimpliSafe does not partner with SmartHomes to ensure the safety and Integrity of their systems. THIRD UPDATE: they connected their shitty system to my HVAC in the attic, and it's been WITHOUT POWER for 17 days because of their technician. In addition to the cleaning, patching, painting, I need to bring my HVAC contractor that had installed all new duct work and HVAC unit to go see why, if the breakers on the panel are on, does my unit not have power. BY ALL MEANS WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT ALL THESE HEADACHES AND EXPENSES STEALING HOUR MONEY AND DAMAGING YOUR HOME.

The service while active was good. BEWARE!!! Think hard before signing a contract even if you close…read morebusiness and move out of state they say you still owe for services even though they aren't monitoring anything anymore! TO Molly : I understand i signed a contract. If I am paying for equipment as you say, then what is the equipment that your staff said needs to be returned upon cancellation? Am I paying for equipment or service? My original review stands, BEWARE of this contract...

Customer since April 2016 Purchased new monitors…read more March 2021 connection problems began but with wifi extensions all seended to work. Purchased new equipment for two accounts Wed, June 25, 2024. Given install Date: Fri, June 28, 2024 No show/ No calls to reschedule from company. Called to reschedule earliest appt, Mon, July 8, 2024, was sent a 3rd party student tech, nice and tried everything he could for ten (10hrs), but had no limited knowledge of wifi extenders already placed by vivint, and zero knowledge on hardworking internet router to monitor as new equipment is 5G (shorter wave connection) Devices/Cameras stayed on long enough for him to drive off and new cameras dropped offline one by one, and internet connection to monitor was poor to nothing. Made another appt July 15, 24, two (2) 3rd party techs came 7 hrs later same thing happened. Made another appt July 18, 2024 An actual seasoned well knowledged Tech, Abraham Rodriquez was sent for 2nd acct, but not 1st acct both needed to be back online but having only one work order, he was Amazing, he found the system was reprogrammed, needed two firmware updates, checked all device sensors and we were up and running within 1.45 hrs as the reprogramming and firmware updates and reinviting users took time. Note to customers: Any technician other than a local technician shows up for a scheduled appt without a Vivint vehicle be warned, they are a 3rd party installer or a student tech, send them packing if you have any complicated issues. Local Techs are knowledgeable, trained, well-mannered, have a well stocked company vehicle with proper connection equipment and receive technician hourly rates, while 3rd party techs will stay until the last dog dies because they get paid per job, no compensation for driving their own vehicles, gas, mileage etc. I am giving Vivint Company one more attempt to send one of their local techs out as requested to get our other account fully functioning, if they do not, all systems will be cancelled and we move to a local company. The ones who bought out this company, have so many procedures in place away from the brick and mortar here locally, quick dependable customer service is a thing of the past.

My family member has had Vivint service since 2016 and owns all of their equipment outright…read more Despite this, Vivint repeatedly asks customers to sign new, lengthy, complicated contracts when renewing their monitoring service, locking them into another five-year commitment. What is especially frustrating is that the sales representative does not clearly highlight or explain the length of this obligation. Customers should not have to dig through complicated contracts to discover that they are committing to another five years of service. The customer service has also been incredibly poor, while the monthly monitoring fees are extremely high. On top of that, I strongly recommend looking carefully at the monthly equipment insurance charge--it is very expensive and is not worth the cost, especially when you already own the equipment. After being a customer for so many years, it is incredibly disappointing to feel that the company takes advantage of loyal customers instead of treating them fairly and transparently. I am absolutely disgusted with the way this has been handled and would strongly encourage anyone considering Vivint to carefully review every contract, especially the renewal term and any additional monthly charges, before signing.
