I always see events being hosted at District56 on social media, so I honestly thought it was mainly a community space where people hosted events. I had no idea there was an actual park back there too! It's a pretty decent-sized community center with an aquatic center, a large park, and a beautiful pond. My friend and I were actually really impressed by the layout of the entire area. I really like the modern style, and the area is fairly clean and well maintained. The park itself is kind of hidden behind the buildings, big trees, and parking lots, so if you've driven past it like I have, you probably wouldn't even know there's a community park back there. It almost feels like entering an amusement park because you have to drive into the parking lot and make your way toward the park before you really see everything it has to offer. There's a huge grassy field, and I absolutely love the pond and seeing all the geese around it. There's also an aquatic center with big water slides. I haven't actually been inside the aquatic center yet, but from the outside, it looks pretty clean and spacious. One of my kids' and my favorite things is the splash pad outside the aquatic center. We especially love how the water features light up at night, which makes it even more fun and enjoyable in the evening. This has become one of the parks my kids and I visit pretty often in the Elk Grove area, and we never get tired of coming here. It's such a nice little hidden gem for walking, letting the kids play, or simply enjoying some time outside.

I recently hosted a party with friends here. We ended up using this covered picnic area that is…read moreadjacent to the restroom, playground, as well as the outdoor workout area. I had my partner call in to ask if we could reserve the picnic area, since we were pretty set in hosting our party there. They told us there was no need for reservation, as it was first-come-first served, which is cool, but also made us nervous at the same time because we had to ensure that we got there early enough to claim the area. We went there on a Sunday morning at 7 am, and it was available for us. We took several weeks to scope it out. The covered area has 6 picnic tables, as well as trash/recycle bins, BBQ area, and an electrical outlet box towards the main walkway. The outlet was very helpful for us to have our speakers. There is light inside of the box so you can see what you're plugging into. Something to note is that the tables are kind of dirty looking, so you may want to get some table cloths to cover them. The surface area of the tables are about 32 inches wide and 92 inches long. I would recommend definitely getting table cloths bigger than this surface area size, and also bring tape! It is also totally possible to hang banners at the top of the covering, but make sure you have someone tall enough to reach the beams. As for the bathrooms, they are fairly clean for a park and are spacious. There is a lot of nature which makes this park so unique. There is a lot of duck poop in certain areas, so beware! This park gets pretty busy in the evenings during the summer. The other features of District56 is that there is plenty of free parking, lots of field space, and there is essentially a senior community center with a cafe, and a recreational swimming area. As for the workout area, it is pretty nice because the have structures in which they provide guidance on how to use it, and also different level platforms. The recreational swimming area/aquatic center--you can host parties here, but it is limited in the hours you can reserve. Admission prices are pretty reasonable. On the day we went, there was a party earlier in the day, and they opened to the public around 1 pm. There was a line already forming about half an hour before opening time (lots of families), which was surprising. We perused the area, and it seems pretty nice, as there are lots of lounging areas under umbrellas. The thing that is kind of unfortunate is that the senior community center is closed on the weekends. This is important because if you're looking for a public restroom, you won't get access to that or the aquatic center unless you pay admission. Therefore, you have to walk all the way back to the park for a public restroom. I wished they put a public restroom right i between the community center and the aquatic center. All things considered, this is probably one of the nicest parks in Elk Grove!

Photo taken, paperwork reviewed and signed off, and I was out the door before my appointment time. Staff was ultra friendly and efficient. I chose this place over the USPS and it was 100x well worth the extra drive. Easy access free parking nearby. My passport arrives on Saturday. Highly recommend. Thank you for making a potentially annoying task hassle free and a pleasure. Pro Tip: have all your paperwork filled out, documents handy and checks made out ahead of time. Grand opening event occurred 5.14.22. This civic center includes city hall, beautiful library &…read morepolice department buildings. All buildings are brand new. Parking is on the backside of these three buildings. Food trucks, vendors, egg drop by fire department & live band Touch of class were present. It was well worth attending this event despite the bright sun. They even held tours for the various buildings. Almost forgot but they had lion dancers there to ward off evil spirits & bring good luck to each of these 3 buildings. Similar to what they do for Chinese New Years! This was a fabulous community event enjoyed by many of the local people! Come see the brand new civic center if you're a local to Newark.

This wonderful park, is located next to the Los Gatos Library. We often come here for a picnic on…read morethe weekends when we don't want to make the drive over the hill to the beach. It's a very serene spot for watching classic cars drive by on Saturday evenings. That tradition started during Covid for entertainment and has continued since. There's parking located right on Main Street in front of the park. There's lots of shade to take cover on a hot day. This place is also well known for 'Music in the Park' on Sunday afternoons during the Summer. Los Gatos also holds their Art and Wine festival in September. Walking distance from many restaurants on Main Street as well as a convenient 7-11 down the street. A memorable place for us during Spring and Summer. On 9/11 they hold a special memorial service. You'll find many special commemorative bricks in the ground near the light statue commemorating those who lost their lives and loved ones on 9/11. A definite symbol of Los Gatos' support for the 9/11 tragedy.

While my company is contemplating moving to a bigger office space... as a employee of a company…read morethat occupied one of the office spaces at the Mountain View Civic Center, I decided to look back at the 18 months I've spent in this Prometheus-managed building: What I like Gated, 2-level underground parking for building residents. I spoil my car, and would hate to have it exposed to sunlight, covered in tree gunk, and speckled with bird poop. Secured, after hours entry. Food that's only footsteps away: Le Boulanger (love their pickles!), Starbucks (friendly staff that make me my soy latte), Mediterranean Grill, Sweet Corner, Eagle Park and the rest of Castro Street which has almost EVERY service you need. Bathrooms - not the 1-room bathrooms I was used to at my previous job, but the mirrors are large and the bathrooms are relatively clean. Gotta love the automatic flushers... but sometimes they flush one time too many, and it's worst when you're not even done... They'll tear down walls to accommodate your company's growth! As far as I know, management knocked down a divider wall, and a storage room to expand our space! What I won't miss All offices seem to suffer from spastic temperature controls. One day the rooms are too hot, one day they are freezing cold. Lights and HVAC shut off at 7pm unless you call in to have them on a little longer! Not being able to use the stairs for some extra exercise. Unstable elevators that I've been trapped in!
