One of the staff looked up the part, and I was shocked at how expensive it was. The other staff looked up a different part number and said use THAT one because it was one fifth the cost. Still would have been cheaper to order online, but I want to support my local shop so they stay in business. I came back in to pick up the parts, and there they were. My mechanic suggested I just go to O'Reilly. My mechanic said they could help me figure out what part I needed and even help me install it or just install it for me. Sounds good. It's across town, but off I went. The store was clean and tidy. There were a couple staff members, and one offered to help. I think her name was Erin. She wasn't immediately able to locate the part based on the numbers I had brought in from the part. She came out to my vehicle with me and had a gander. We went back in, and she pored over the computer trying to find the right part. She did find something that looked close, but it was chrome and not quite right. Rather than just have me wait, she offered to keep looking and call me when she found something. The entire experience was pleasant. I felt valued. Their staff wanted to make sure I got what I needed the first time. They didn't just want to sell me something and shuffle me out the door. They smiled. Yep. They smiled. I will go back when I need some auto parts. Thank you for treating me kindly, for smiling, and for looking for the part I need. More retailers could learn from this example.

I went to power Chevrolet in Corvallis to buy a used 2021 f150. It was a nice truck for a decent…read moredeal but I spotted an oil leak. I went inside and asked for the inspection notes. They gave me a version of them but it said there were no leaks and everything looked perfect. I let them know that the truck had a leak and if they were to fix the leak I would be interested in purchasing. Sales manager said the truck would be in the shop on the lift first thing Monday(this was Saturday). The truck was diagnosed Tuesday, one day late no big deal. They reached out to me Thursday and said they have decided they will fix it(I didn't know that was in question). They also were going to jack the price up. I said I would no longer be interested at the new price so they reverted back to the original price. Friday they said they sent it to ford and ford would be working on it that day or the following Monday. Tuesday they said it was fixed and was headed back to their lot. At this point the salesman ran my credit and I was approved for the loan. This is when he told me the truck is now on hold for me since the already put an inquiry on my credit. Right before I'm about to head to the dealership to get the truck they contact me and say the truck isn't actually done yet but I will be by Friday. Turns out the truck was done Thursday. I could not make it up there Thursday but I said I would try for Friday. Salesman is texting and calling me all day Friday while I'm at work(not typically on my phone) needing to know what time I will be there. At 2:30pm I tell him 4:45 or 5 as I get off at 3:30. An hour later the salesman says my colleague is selling it right now. After they already put a hard inquiry on my credit and told me it was on hold for me. They drug out the process for 2 weeks then sold it out from under me in 24 hours. Then they said "I can see if I can find another truck for you!" So I didn't get a truck and I will never attempt to buy from power Chevrolet Corvallis again.

B&R had a very organized lot, kind and helpful staff, and van driving around the lot with tools. The Man at the register was open to negotiating prices, an employee out in the lot offered me a dolly to move the seats and he even power washed the gunk off for me, and another employee removed a stripped bolt for me. All super cool dudes! Only took about an hour and a half or so to get exactly what I needed in good condition and it only cost me $120! Thanks yall!
