Went in on 10/6/25 looking for valve stem caps. Found what I wanted and went to check out to find the cost was 3 times more than the price marked on the shelf. When I asked why I was told they were mis-labled and he was required to charge the price the computer came up with. He then went on a rant about the high employee turn over they have and that most of the employees care less about their job than he does. I was pretty much told to take it or leave. As I was leaving work, I discovered I had a dead battery. I knew I needed to get a new one right away. A coworker jumped my battery for me and suggested Advance Auto Parts, as it was on my way home. I called ahead to ask if they could replace a battery for my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and was told that they could. Cris was the young man who helped me, and he couldn't have been nicer! He was efficient and friendly and answered all of my questions. After getting the new battery installed, he tested everything to make sure it was working as it should. What would have been a long, frustrating evening waiting for AAA to come help me out turned into an easy 15 minute errand on my way home. Had what we needed, right when we needed it. We were on a road trip and needed a high current 40amp low profile maxi fuse. That's a pretty tall order for a sudden need. They had it. It was $5, which is a bit high, but not outrageous. The most important part is they had it. That's a victory. This is a perfectly acceptable Advanced Auto. Wanted them to check my battery, was told they couldn't do it. How can you not test a battery? I was even willing to pay for a service that was advertised as free. They basically told me they could do nothing to help me and treated me as though I was dumb. Less than impressed with the service and probably won't be back again even if it's the last place to go. read more

My aunt is handicap and was not able to get out of the van that she has. When I went in to get motor oil for her it took me about 5 minutes to find the oil. And when I went to pay I asked the guy "tom" to help us put the oil in and he said we dont put oil in cars me and my family consider him rude for that and would not recommend going g there if you live in Nebraska or Iowa he also didn't not ask me if I needed help finding anything read more

Had them pull code off of the cars computer. Wheel speed sensor- $126 vapor canister vent valve-$128 2 camshaft position sensors- $155 bought over $400 in parts for the car from them and they would not clear my codes. They sure took my money though! They lost a customer for life here! read more

Idiot! I am on a cross-country trip and my 5 year old Optima Yellow Top died here in Council Bluffs. I went to this store and told the older sales guy that I wanted the EXACT same battery I had in my Wrangler. They were out of stock and since it was near their daily deadline of 5pm for ordering from the warehouse, he said he could have it at the store this morning at 7:30am. Fine. So, I pulled my camping trailer over to the nearby Walmart and spent the night. This morning, I got there early. They opened promptly at 7:30 and the guy wheels out a RED top, not a yellow top. When I reminded him that I said I wanted the exact same battery...a yellow top...he said that there was no difference and besides, the red top has more cranking power. Idiot! There are clear differences listed on the Optima website and other forums that I won't bore you with. Despite knowing that I was in a hurry and was only in Council Bluffs to replace the battery, he told me that he will have the right one TOMORROW morning. I said that was unacceptable. As it turned out, O'Reilly's had my battery in stock and replaced it after confirming that my old battery was indeed bad. I wish I had come here yesterday because I could have driven another couple hundred miles further. Live and learn. That sales guy obviously didn't care about any of that and made a unilateral decision to give me a different battery than what I asked for. Was there a bigger commission??
