I am late writing this but I figured better late than never…read more I went here a month or so ago with a very strange request. I got to this store at 8:43 pm mind you they close at 9. I needed to return the front break pads I had bought from the advanced auto parts in Waterloo Iowa because they had sold me the wrong ones. The receipt was merely a copy on my phone , all I had was a picture of what the break pads should look like. I know right ... But , Mandy and the gentleman that was also there , (definitely an employee but he was off the clock it seemed) went above and beyond for me!! We opened and checked at least 12 boxes and almost gave up when something I said clicked for Miss Mandy and she found the ones I needed!!! See I couldn't tell her if my vehicle was an SE or sxt or what not . It was not marked anywhere as such and beings that it was once an undercover detectives car it made things even harder. I don't know if I have ever experienced such awesome customer service as I received from these two that night! And mind you I've worked in the hospitality industry all my life. They both deserve a pay raise at the least and a good gift card to show appreciation hands down. THANK YOU BOTH ONCE AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP THAT NIGHT!!! Once done it was well after closing and they both just stood there smiling and happy to have been able to help me in such a way! I recommend everyone goes there for their car part needs and make sure to tell them both how awesome they are. Not only did they do what they were asked, they also noticed that one of her sensors were bad. They gave us pricing information before we left and other tips. We'd had a long busy day and were all over the place trying to explain things. They were patient, shook our hands, joked around a bit. Really reassured us on things and made us feel welcomed at their establishment. Typically the guys just air the tires, give you the basic run down and send you on your way. No issues with that. Brought my car in because the brakes went to the floor, they replaced the back brakes and said I had a bad caliber, they told me the price and although it was expensive, I agreed because I needed to get it fixed. When I picked up my car, the price was a lot more than what was quoted. And the brakes still go to the floor. So still dangerous to drive and manager didn't seem to care. They also had added a brake kit on there that was $11.09, I was charged $110.90. clearly added a zero behind it. Didn't read right on my invoice. When I called about it, I got an agent that didn't listen and didn't speak clear English. She just kept asking if I wanted to make an appointment. I told her I needed to talk to a manager and she put me on hold and told me the manager was with a customer and will call me back. I waited an hour. I called back and I was told that the manager was still with a customer. So I decided to drive up to the store only to find out that it was closed for the day. Not once did the agent that answered the phone tell me they were closed but lied to me and told me the manager was with a customer all 3 times I called. I did call the next day and the manager said the invoice was wrong but then said they charged 110.90 for new lug nuts. And he isn't sure why it was billed under a brake kit. Never apologized, never tried to make it right and honor the invoice. Over $700 for back brakes, one caliber and "lug nuts" ! I called the Davenport store just to see what they would tell me and I asked how much for the same service and the guy was extremely nice and gave me a breakdown and even said you can bring in your own lug nuts if you would like to save money! That is honest!! The only reason I even went there was because my lug nuts were stuck and I couldn't get them off, otherwise I could have done the work myself. So disappointing that there was no communication! That is poor business taking people for as much as you can and not being upfront and honest! Had they been honest and quoted the correct price with the breakdown BEFORE the work, and maybe if the brake pedal still didn't hit the floor after paying all that money, then I would have something nice to say!!
