What a horrible experience! First off, per their website, "we'll test batteries, starters and alternators to make sure any vehicle is starting and charging for even the longest trips. We can perform these test on or off your vehicle. This is a free service for all customers." When I showed up, I was told they don't test starters yet clearly on their website. I had to talk to manager who told me they would make a special exception even though I showed him THEIR OWN WEBSITE. Once we tried to test my battery, alternator, and starter, it took 3 techs to figure out how to use their own devices and seemed like they had very little understanding of how cars actually work. They immediately said it was a battery problem yet another tech chimed in and said it couldn't be that since everything else was turning on. Long story short, they weren't able to diagnose anything and just wasted 15+ minutes of my time. Regardless if this was a free service or not (which I guess depends who you talk to if they even do it) this was not worth it and do not recommend that anyone come here for a test or service. Extremely disappointed and will not be back for any reason. read more

I had a $800 quote to replace my battery on a Porsche Cayenne from local firms and Porsche itself would clearly have been more. I went to Advanced Auto Parts in Highlands Ranch and Logan helped me out. For a fraction of the quotes I had, Logan got me the right battery and some special tools, and they let me borrow some tools and talked me through the process in the parking lot. I watched some YouTube videos as of course you have to literally remove the front driver's seat and half the interior of the Cayenne to get to the battery, to find the right size/power battery - about a 2-hour process I did in their parking lot. Logan was incredibly helpful and the people are really positive and supportive. Would recommend this place for ALL your parts. read more

This is my go-to auto parts store. Typically use the app for 15% off, and get rewards to apply to purchases. They normally have the part I need, or can get within a day. They recycle oil and coolant as well. They often have in-store deals as well on autocare products too. Not always the best prices, but Id say 80% of the time Ill buy from them instead of going elsewhere. Not great for specialty european parts (VW, Mercedes, Porsche), but for US cars they are great. Brakes, coolant, oil, wiper fluid, RV antifreeze, sparkplugs, european fluids. Give them a shot! read more

My car had issues so I stopped in to see if I could have them check my alternator. Connor was able to come out with the machine and not only did he check my alternator but he also checked my battery. And checking my battery he discovered that the terminal case was loose so that was probably the cause of my problem so he fixed it at no charge. I stopped in to buy some new wipers for my vehicle after realizing my old blades had but the dust (streaks all over my windows). I was already confident I knew what I wanted: Rain-X brand silicone blades to replace my current set. I grabbed my driver and passenger sizes, then talked with Jordan to look up the rear blade size. We then talked about the difference between Rain-X and Trico blades. While both silicone, the Tricos have minimal metal and plastic compared to the others, meaning fewer parts and pieces that could break down over time. Talking with him convinced me to try the Tricos out instead. While they were a little bit more expensive up front, they came with a $15 mail-in/internet based rebate. Score! After my purchase was complete he offered to install the blades for me. At first I declined because it was cold af outside, and I knew I'd be able to do it at home in the relative warmth of the garage. He offered again saying it wasn't a hassle and he'd be able to do it pretty quickly. I flashed back to struggling to install the rear window wiper blade over the past few years, so I agreed. For reference, 2014 Outback. The windshield blades were replaced within a couple of minutes, nice and easy. Then we got to the back. While it was simple to remove the rear blade, it ended up taking him about 7 minutes to get that sucker on. I felt bad because I knew what a pain the rear blade was, and I was sure his fingers were freezing. He didn't give up though. He kept working at it, got a small flathead screwdriver, and finally got it to pop in place. I was impressed by Jordan's knowledge and helpfulness. All these months later and I'm loving these blades. read more

I left a poor review of this place a few years ago. After working at an advance in a different area for sometime after this review, I can say for certain that this place is garbage. Pretty much all of the employees at this location are lazy, distrustful, arrogant, and rude. I would hate to work at this place with these people. These people don't have barely anything to do and they are soooooo slooooowwwww and laaaaazzzyyyyy. Most of them have got some attitude too. I don't know who your DM is in this area but he or she is slacking, cause this store's GM hardly acts like one (last time I saw the GM was ~3/19 so I don't know if this has changed). Go to O'Reilly's down the street. Their a bunch of dweebs but they are wayyy nicer people and it is a far more pleasant experience. read more

My car comes from California, and this was her first winter in Colorado. Like I, she is not a huge fan of the snow, so when her battery started protesting the freezing temperatures I was not surprised. The thing with my car is that she's very high maintenance (beautiful girls often are), so my go-to, Costco, didn't have a battery in stock that could operate her. I was in a pinch, because it was to the point where she wouldn't start without a jump, and I have a job that prefers I actually show up. We decided on a Sunday that we needed to jump her and get her over to an auto parts place that could install a battery for me (my fiancé said he could do it but after his last battery install resulted in a minor explosion a few months later, the origin of which had never been identified, I preferred a pro). I called Advance Auto Parts, confirmed they had a battery in stock for me and that they offered FREE installation, and jumped the beast and headed on over. Buying the battery was easy, they explained the warranty length and price, and gave me the option of two different batteries. The only instance in which service was lacking was this. The employee said I should buy the battery that cost $70 more because it's "a lot better" with nothing to back it up. I know nothing about cars, help me out here! Once my card was swiped installation was completed successfully and immediately, and I was out of there with a rumbling car again! I was at this store maybe 30 minutes, which I really appreciated. All in all, an easy, good experience purchasing a battery and now the car is back to her beautiful, functional self! read more

Took my car down there with a 1 year old Optima Red Top battery I purchased from Advanced because I was having charging issues and after some testing I was pretty sure it was the battery. They "tested" the battery and said it was fine and it needed charged and there must be something wrong with the charging system. Well off and on I have messed with this over the last year to include putting a brand new alternator in, checking voltage drop across positive and negative cables with a digital volt meter, and cleaning all connections. Today I took it to the Colfax Advance and the guys there actually followed the troubleshooting steps as outlined in the handheld battery tester and determined my batter was in fact bad. Why review an auto parts store you ask? Well, when I unexpectedly receive great service I make a point to write a review, no matter what the business. I've been here a couple times for just buying random things - wiper blades, wash mitt, etc. But recently my car wouldn't start without a jump, so I went here since I figured it was a battery issue. The guy was super nice, explaining that it was likely the battery and why that was so (heat + humidity from where I lived previously). He brought out the tester and sure enough - R.I.P. stock battery. An added bonus was that they provide free install, and with the guy being so knowledgeable, that was much appreciated. I don't think I'd trust Batteries Plus to do that (I called there about prices - the guy didn't even know what a Nissan Altima was). And to top it off, the guy did a test on my alternator just to be safe. He didn't have to do that, and could have easily made up a story about how it wasn't necessary, but he happily did it anyway. I went in here after Napa down the street basically kicked me out because it was near closing time. The two guys working that night were extremely helpful. I was in a tight situation with a stripped 14mm nut on my upper control arm. I went into the store and asked the guys if they had one for sale. I swear they looked through every square centimeter of the store to find the 14mm nut I needed. After about 10 minutes, he found one and it was the exact part! I'm glad I went here because they went the extra mile to help a customer in great need. I'll be back!!! read more

I went to purchase diesel motor oil. I know what my RV uses. When I asked where to find it in the store, they had me running around trying to sell me everything but my oil. I finally made my purchase. I found myself unable to use the drive behind the store to turn around. I asked for help to unhook my car. They flatly refused even though no one else was in the store. After I unhooked it, I backed the RV into the only place in the lot that would accommodate it. The manager came out yelling and screaming that I couldn't park there. I wasn't parked, I was actively performing normal functions associated with RV travel. I told him to give me 2 minutes to hook up the car. He got REALLY nasty. I finally told him to call the cops and went to hook up the car. Did he do this because I'm a woman? It wouldn't surprise me. However, this was no way to treat any customer. I would NEVER return. Go to a different auto parts store. This one doesn't really want your business. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. First and foremost the GM Michael Vigil was very condescending and arrogant. I had purchased an alternator 2 1/2 years ago "new" with a lifetime warranty. It went bad. During that period of time with a couple of moves I had lost the receipt. When I went to the store and attempted to pull the warranty up in the system they could not do so. Reason being system does not record data from that long ago. For whatever reason. They tried to tell me they couldn't afford to keep that much data which is false for a company who brought in over 9 billion in revenue. Autozone has records of purchases my family made for a 1973 Grand Torino from the 90's. They indeed were able to verify that it is their exclusive brand of alternator. Still they would not warranty it out without some proof of purchase. It was like no record was ever recorded. I don't get how you can have lifetime warranties for products and have no record of them after two years. They were willing to give me 30% off a new alternator which I was not interested in doing. Anyways I contacted corporate and was once again given the run around. I ended up talking with a customer service manager her name was Ginger who was very condescending and rude. Basically cut me off when trying to figure out the problem. Long story short this company is dishonest unprofessional. Whatever happened to customer service and truly trying to help customers. Steer clear at all possible. I was extremely disappointed. And obviously won't be returning. read more
