Took my '63 Pontiac LeMans to Don's in 2015 to start its restoration by rebuilding the 326 engine…read moreand adding cruise control. Tony was very friendly in our meeting and said they would get the work done for $5,000-7,000. I agreed and left the car to have the work done. After almost 7 months and at a cost of about $11,000 I got the car back. Less than 2 miles from Tony's shop the car was overheating so I took it back. A couple days later they said they had set the timing to the wrong mark and the problem had been corrected. After that it was one problem after another over the next couple months which required returning the car to Tony's. The car was not being driven as I was starting to work on other parts of the car. After e few more months the car sat idle for 4-5 years as other responsibilities kept me from working on it. In the meantime, I had moved about 200 miles away to central Wisconsin and in 2020 started working on the restoration again. The first thing I found was the car was still overheating. After several attempts to talk to Tony(he would never take my calls after I identified myself or return them) I had a local mechanic diagnose the problem as combustion gasses leaking into the cooling system. Since Tony refused to talk to me and I wasn't going to tow the car back down 200 miles, we decided to remove the heads to determine what was leaking. We found several head bolts were loose and none had been torqued down. The shifting of the heads caused the leakage and thus the overheating. I've now spent in excess of $2,500 to correct the problems and I'm still finding more that wasn't done or done improperly. And Tony still won't return my calls or reimburse me. I'm very disappointed to say the least.

Pricing cannot be beat. You can tell the people who work here are car enthusiasts, and that they strive to sell a good product. Jack insured my wheels were meticulously cared-for. I called about tires and was recommended Continentals. When I checked the specs I found they were not highly rated for winter driving. So I picked another tire. The system said it would be delivered to the store the next day. I called to ask if it could be installed. Salesman looked it up and Told YES, no problem, but I could get the Continentals the same day. I explained I was looking for better winter driving. I ordered the Discount tires I wanted for $200 more than at Tire Rack--Insurance cost difference. Expensive tires--insurance needed. Next day at 2pm I called, and was told tires would not be in until next week. I asked to cancel. I was told I could have the Continentals immediately. I explained I needed All-Season with very good winter ratings, I'm from upstate NY and the car would be there in the winter. He still either didn't understand or was hard programed for Continental. So that began a 5 minute HARD sale on Continentals, pretending not to hear me say to cancel the tires I purchased ($1500) from Discount tires the night before. Finally he said ok. Then I get a call from the original person I spoke to who tired to sell me again (yes this was #3). Told me there are only 1 tire in the warehouse of what I wanted, so they would have to be ordered. Who told you this and that. Anyway after another 10 minutes of VERY annoying back and forth he agreed to cancel my order. If you are good with being lead by the nose and being nicely sold on a tire because you don't care what you get, then I recommend. My experience--reinforces why I order ON-LINE from Tire Rack and get what I want without ANY Hassles.
