Disregard any negative feedback on here. This shop I've been dealing with for almost a year and when I went there, I was depressed. I initially paid almost 10,000 for a stereo system with another shot and I just happened to call Kim. At Grand Audio Waukegan. She told me to come in. I went in and talked and we got understanding. She fixed the issues that turned out to be a quadruple the work but I am overly satisfied. This is the best system I've ever heard in my life that I've ever had in my life. It's not one of the system that cut out or the amp overheats or anything like that I can play the system for long periods of time and it's a massive system Alfonso there's no words that I can even say and how phenomenal his work is, he doesn't cheat the system. He doesn't cut corners. People say that they charge too much but the work is good and what I tell them is you gotta pay for what you want if you want something that's gonna knock and that's gonna stay working for a long period of time you gotta pay this place does not cut corners and they will not get over on you. I love this place. this is my go to and I tell anybody who wants it system. This is where they need to go. They're awesome here. read more

They know what they are doing. The price of the box I bought was great. She made sure that it cost lower than what could be found online. They also did a good job installing my subwoofers and are generally nice people. However, the labor of installing crazy high. About 2x of anywhere else I investigated after the fact. The opposite of the way you are supposed to do things. If they brought their labor down a bit no one else would stand a chance. read more

I brought my car in for speaker installation, the employee was not able to give me an exact cost, but quoted me a price, plus or minus $100, it ended up being $200 more. They also broke the up/down switch for my window, and claimed it was like that when I brought it in, it was not. These people are dishonest, and irresponsible, I would not recommend them. read more

Kim will give you a pretty decent price on the audio equipment, but her labor rates are way too much! Extremely expensive to have them install or customize anything on your car. There are other shops in the area that have lower labor rates and do decent work. So you get good prices on the gear, but overpay to have it installed??? Doesn't make sense to me. Definitely shop around. read more

Had a very nice experience going into this store as soon as I walked in they greeted me and ask what can they help me with I was having an issue with my key fob to lock and unlock my door turns out they identified the problem and I was I the store less then 10 minutes. I purchased a remote starter kit with the drone this winter, it was a good experience. The saleswoman was knowledgeable and did her best to work with my budget. Remote starters are very customizable, with each component having its own manufacturer plus the add-ons. We scheduled a service time, and it was smooth sailing. The people at Grand Audio are nice but seemed to be a bit overwhelmed. I personally spent right a 7k for what was suppose to be my dream sound system and look. I was disappointed in my overall performance of sound system and the appearance of custom box and lights. Also, I was told it would take 2 weeks for install, I dropped my car off in July 2019 and did not get my car completed and returned until October of 2019. After, the return of my vehicle I had the custom box vinyl coming unglued and failure of custom led lights, oh I forgot to mention my FM radio has no signal and is not working in which they never figured out why. The reason I'm writing this is all the way up into 2 weeks ago I was still having these issues and it's still not resolved. Hopefully, in the future the staff will treat all customers better whether they're spending 7k or $70 dollars. I'm totally baffled by the team not seeing my since of urgency to get my money's worth and or the job they promised. I mostly dealt with the owner Kim and could hardly ever get a word in, very difficult to communicate with someone who over talks the customer. My suggestion is stay away unless you just want to talk to nice people who'll spend your tires instead of resolving the issue. Fortunately, I have all the dates of drop off and the total time the car was in the shop to move forward legally. Good luck to all future customers. read more

I bought a car receiver online and took it to Grand Audio to install. In hindsight I should have gone directly to them and bought it from them as their prices are a lot lower than online. But I had them put in the new receiver and the speakers I got online. Turns out I got the wrong size speakers but they called me, said they have the right size, twice as good, for 8 bucks more than the low-end speakers I got online. They put in the receiver and the speakers and the difference is night and day! should have done it a few cars ago! In fact i'm going back to change the other speakers. The staff knows their stuff and set me up nicely. Highly recommend. read more

I went to Grand Audio to have an alarm put in my van. Everything was fine, and l really liked the installer, and the other young man that worked the counter. I started discussing motorcycles with the installer because he stated that he was the guy that was able to install led lighting. I showed him a video of how to do it, and l was supposed to get a call to give me a price so l could keep my appointment. I never received the call, but the installer was busy. I completely understand. The problem was the lady that l wasn't dealing with because she was off that day. She never stops talking, and interrupts you when you're trying to get a word in. When l got my alarm l had to finally leave and let my wife handle it because this lady never shut her mouth. Because of her inability to say only what's necessary and let someone else respond, l will never go back there. I'm a nice guy. The guys are cool, but this lady never closes her mouth. Her name is Kim, and she's the owner. How sad. read more

Horrible customer service i went there talked to them about a head unit and amp install in my 2016 forester xt i told them i have the factory Harmon kardon they told me it would not be a problem . quoted me $400 for install i was providing the head unit . I told I would think about it so I decided to go with them called and set up an appointment went back show them what I had told me that still no problem so took my car in and Wednesday and about 5 o'clock I got a call saying that there is problem I was thinking it's a small problem Then I was told to fix the problem I would need to spend $200 more I show up to the shop and the installer was adamant that I had to do this part and I told him I could get a cheaper for like a 140 bucks then he was it's only $70 difference like saying I was gonna buy it from him no matter what . the thing that pissed me off was that it looked like they had just started on working on my car i dropped off my car at 1030 in the morning. This shop is a joke i tried to give them a shot . stay far away from this place . read more
