VERY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE…read more I walked in told John the vehicle I was interested in. The first item he wanted was my registration to my car I was trading in. Then he gives me the keys to the car I planned on buying and said you can look at it but you cant drive it! They stated the trade was low because of the interior. The interior had a missing leather piece from the gear box. My seats were fine and they stated all of my interior was in poor condition. John didn't even let me drive the car I was interested in. He was more concerned with gathering my personal information. I should have stopped him and walked out but I didn't. John only concentrated on the negative and not being positive about the car buying process. The employees at the showroom not very friendly, no one said Good Morning. Lastly, while leaving trying to make a cup of coffee - Keurig - and it wasn't working. There was another customer helping me, still wasn't working. The receptionist just staring out the window. I just could not wait to leave that place and annoyed at myself for not just walking out. Buyer beware!

We were in a market for another Mini Cooper Countryman ALL4 to replace and old one. Been to a few other dealers only to find out they are scammers. In the end, we called Seth and Gary at the barn and told them exactly what we were looking for. Then within a day, they located the car we want. They showed us the pictures and Carfax. Sold! We verbally confirmed our order over the phone. The car was transported from Michigan to Connecticut in 5 days. Came down there to test drive it one weekend. Confirmed that we indeed wanted it. We picked up the car the following weekend. All of this with no hassles and with transparent pricing. When it is time to buy another low milage, quality used car, we know where to come.

Two years ago I thought I was working with a quality business....two years later I find myself…read morewherever did I get that idea. My name is John K and I brought in my 2014 Nissan Sentra to have the transmission replaced with a new one at the cost of $5326.25, a hefty sum. The car was WELL cared for and looked new and thought instead of buying something new, with the cost of cars, I would invest in the car. The car did have 200,000 miles but again after taking well care of the car decided this would be a better investment. Well, two years and 36k miles later the transmission went. Gone..Kaput...I called Doug and he said that it was out of warranty as he warrants for only 1 year on both labor and transmission. Honestly, I didn't think I would have a problem but I signed the invoice and now looking back and reading it, the invoice was just Word Salad to be blunt. Again, I take responsibility...but Doug wouldn't even look at the car and one would think that the transmission would have lasted a little more than 36k...a lot more....I then called Nissan Customer Care and they advised that they would replace the transmission but because I didn't use a Nissan Dealer, that I would have to pay the labor. I called Doug and asked if he would do that and I would pay him for the labor. He said Absolutely NOT. He was not willing to work with me at all. I called Nissan back and they would honor the initial offer at any Nissan Dealership and so I brought it to Nissan of Old Saybrook. They couldn't have been nicer...really they were awesome. They looked at the car and found a problem....Doug did not use Nissan Parts nor does his invoice indicate any part numbers or replacement parts. Nissan would now NOT cover the replacement as Nissan Parts were not used. This place is awful. It is partly my fault, but in my defense I thought one and done and didn't particularly know what the invoice said. The quality of the customer service is a negative 10. While I maintain my cars, I do not pretend to know any repair knowledge. Now I am driving my 1994 Toyota Camry and will buy a new Toyota soon. In the meantime I am going to end up replacing the transmission yet again as a gift to my niece. It will NOT be going to Smith Bros. 36k miles? Really Doug? Not willing to work with Nissan, really?. Extremely poor customer service and standards. Go to Old Saybrook Nissan...they will treat you right....and they are not paying me to say that, it's a fact. I will be posting this review on other platforms as well.

The DMV testers at the Old Saybrook location are some of the nastiest people I have ever…read moreencountered. I took my driving test today and unfortunately failed, but a major reason I struggled was because of how unnecessarily intimidating and uncomfortable the tester, Lisa, made me feel throughout the test. When I got into the car, I introduced myself and shook her hand, and she did not even acknowledge me or make eye contact. I understand that DMV employees are not there to be my friends, but there is absolutely no reason to treat a 16-year-old who is already extremely nervous as though she is an inconvenience. At one point, I simply asked if I was allowed to back out of the parking space because I like to have confirmation that I am doing something correctly. Lisa responded with a rude and irritated "Yes." Her tone was completely unnecessary and immediately made me feel even more anxious. I was already under an enormous amount of pressure, and instead of helping create a calm and professional testing environment, her attitude made the experience significantly more stressful. The only genuinely positive part of the entire test was speaking with and being reassured by the Next Street instructor, who was kind, patient, and understanding. Unfortunately, he is not employed by the DMV, which made the difference in how I was treated even more noticeable. I understand that the DMV has to maintain high standards and that testers cannot simply give someone a passing grade because they are nervous. However, professionalism and basic courtesy should not be too much to expect. These are 16-year-olds taking one of the most stressful tests they have ever taken, and the attitude of the person sitting next to them can have a huge impact on their ability to perform. The DMV should seriously reconsider how its testers interact with young drivers. If Lisa is going to be testing 16-year-olds, she needs to understand that being cold, dismissive, and unnecessarily rude is not professional. I hope the DMV takes this complaint seriously and considers whether this is the type of attitude it wants representing its testing program.
