This particular franchise is locally owned so they got my business. Initially I just wanted the tire patched which at $30 plus tax is a fair price. You know this is a resort town and it's real easy for any business person to try to pad a price with an additional 100k people in town for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. They did not. I was 3 months away from springing for 4 new tires so I decided to give them the business of 4 new tires. With this large investment I had a ton of questions/prices concerns.You have to do this because you are stuck with the performance and ride of new tires for at least 3 years and I want the best tire for the price that support my driving habits. Driving Habits ---combination of city like driving 50% and 50% major Highway. I also am concerned about driving in snow. Dave and his coworker Nick didn't try the usual dismissal of a women's questions about tires. And I know this is hard because they answer the same questions multiple times/day every day of the week. I did my internet homework about the tires suggested and I felt confident in their prices. I also opted for an alignment which was reasonably priced. If you get bored there is a mini golf and driving range next door along with ice cream. Rio Grande diner is a half a mile walk. Bottom line : Dave did his best for me. Bonus: I was in and out close enough to be happy with the 2 hr estimate to do all my work. I highly recommend this place.

After paying them an ABSURD $1800 because we were out of state and needed to get back home, the alternator failed again a week later because whatever idiot mechanic put it in never tightened the bolt that connects the battery to the alternator, which caused it to arc and melt, resulting in the alternator burning up again. The only in house shop through their warranty company was 40 miles away, and when I called them it turns out they aren't even associated with the warranty company at all. So AAA is currently fixing what Hi-Tech Auto couldn't, and my wife is without a car once again. If you want to pay an arm and a leg for unreliable service, and no help whatsoever when your car breaks again due to their lack of professionalism and checking their work, then this would be the right place for you. I was trying to think what to do where to go. Then I remembered the Shell station I usually go to for gas. I said they must preform auto repairs. So I pulled in and asked if they fix flats. The person I spoke with was Jerry, he said yes I can do it right now. Jerry said the tire had a screw in it and would take a short time to fix it. I was delighted to know this could be done so fast. ZERO "0" stars: DANGER: AVOID this mechanic (Jerry)…read more Negligent and dishonest. He did not care to clean off the rust on the rim of my wheel when he changed my tire. Next day I had a complete flat because there was no air seal between the rim and the tire. Pure negligents that can result in a big accident on the highway. Why would you put a new tire on a rusted wheel without cleaning off the rust? He was defensive and rude and asked me to pay more money. I payed more, but he did not clean off the rust, I had to go to a different mechanic. Safety is more important. He kept advising me to leave my old rusted wheel at his shop and order a new one. I realized he wanted to sell it as a used one to someone else. Negligent and dishonest. I also asked him to change my transmission oil. Over the phone he told me $170 total. But when I got the bill, it was much higher the original price. To the $130 labor He added another $90 which he "forgot" to include in the price over the phone. Plus $29 fee for using soap and paper towels at his shop. Now looking at the way he fixed my flat tire, I am afraid about the quality of the transmission oil and filter change. AVOID THIS SHOP
