My work truck broke down on my way to work. On Monday of course. Was so not a happy camper. They towed it back to Tracy and dug right into the issues. Unfortunately there were multiple problems that had led to the truck breaking down. It's an older work truck I had recently acquired about 4 months ago so really had no idea what all good be wrong. They tracked down all the problems and let me know every issue at every step of the process. With my authorization they repaired everything and advised me of what the immediate issues were and what I would potentially have problems with in the future as well as let me know what the best course of action was. Would give 1 star but Girl on phone is very nice she herself deserves 5 stars for doing her best in a apparently understaffed and hectic work environment. They have her so overwhelmed she NEVER returns phone calls even when you call every other day for over 2 weeks. When you do get her she says she will call back that day or next day but does not. If you call during work hours you usually get someone though. I think she needs help for the amount of calls/emails and work put on her desk obviously as she does seem very professional and nice over the phone. Manager don't overload her, hire her some help or customers will go elsewhere. Also the message machine is messed up so you can't leave messages and they don't return any emails either. Advance: fix your voice mail so it actually takes messages on the weekends and after hours. Then they advise you to do work that is not necessary. They have little concern for your vehicle and mess things up when it is returned to you basically giving the car back in worse condition then when I left it there. My old mechanic at Cat's Automotive in Fremont never treated me or my vehicle like this. I am trying Clemons next off Chrisman and will let you know how that goes. Husband wife team and they seem nice and say the work will be done in less than a week including the diagnosis which took Advance auto 2 weeks to do (not even doing any work just the diagnostics took Advance 2 weeks... wow.... again they need help like maybe more mechanics and such for the amount of customers they are apparently getting). read more

Awesome experience with Advance Auto today. It was my first time bringing my car to them. Check engine light has been on and off. I checked the code at home and knew it was my O2 sensors. Brought it in this morning. They checked everything and could not find anything wrong with my O2 sensors or anything else. They didn't charge me, even for the time spent looking into what might be the problem. Told me to bring it back if the light comes back on. I was very impressed with them and will definitely be back. read more

I had to get my smog check on my 2005 Honda Accord and I failed the emissions test with two error codes. After $900 and two mechanics later and still no passing grades, I finally found Advance Auto. The girl on the phone was so nice and was able to get my car in at the last minute and fixed in a little over a day. Now I wished I had started the whole process with these guys in the first place. We had scheduled an appointment a week in advance with a young lady over the phone. We needed our water pump and timing belt fixed ASAP on my Hyundai sonata. She was pleasant enough, and gave us a low estimate of $510.00 for a water pump, etc. with the option of reserving the rental car to take to work seeing that it was on a Tuesday. You see, we only have one car. She reassured me that we can use the rental car on Tuesday. She said to come in the morning at 8:00 am and that everything should be ready, including the rental car. I was excited because I have been holding off on getting my water pump replaced due to money issues, but when I showed up to turn in my car the old man there was extremely rude. He looked confused when we told them that we had scheduled an appointment in advance with them that morning. He rolled his eyes at us when we told him that it was a lady on the phone that talked to us, like we were lying to him. He told us straight off that the rental car was not available, even though my girlfriend noticed the white compact, rental car in the parking lot when coming in with their name advertised everywhere on it. We are a young couple, so we believe that the man just didn't want to rent the car out to us. Total discrimination. He told us flat out that the rental was not there, and acted totally confused when we showed up explaining that we needed our water pump replaced. Honestly we walked out on him. If there was no rental then we couldn't get to work. They need better organization and communication management skills if they want to get and keep their customers. It would help if they treated their customers with more respect too. We took our business else where. read more

Unfortunately I have to give Advance Auto (Previously Watson Auto) a negative review. I went to Jessie for almost a year, brought him a total of 3 cars to work on and although he was very nice and polite, I was quite disappointed when I had break issues that started after he serviced my car. He then said he would replace the breaks he put in with Dealer breaks, charged me the difference, but did not fix the problem. I finally took the car to the dealership and they told me the issue were not the brakes and also added that the breaks in there were not dealer originals. I took it to another shop who also told me the same thing. At that moment Jessie lost my business and my family's business. I would not recommend him to anyone, especially if advertising repairs on all makes and models, to not be able to figure out brakes and to also lie about the materials being put in there? Took my 2003 Nissan Murano to Advanced Auto for repairs.They said they replaced the Catalyst Converter. The engine light came on took it back to them they said it was the Knock Sensor( $1,400.00 ). Engine light came back on two days later. Took it back, They said that we have an electrical short causing the issue. I had to buy an Alternator and a Battery for them to replace according to the "Mechanic Carlos" My son drove the car home. he didn't get half way home light came back on. Took it back, when he got there Carlos told my soon that we should sell the car at this point ( $4000.00) took thing into my own hands Fixed the Car for $300.00. They never fixed the Murano!!! I went in for a full break job and were met by a very nice and knowledgeable customer service representative. I didn't get her name, but she was very friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions. We needed our car back by a certain time and Jessie took care of us. The price was very reasonable and I am extremely satisfied which doesn't happen often with garages. I usually feel like I got one pulled over on me. On a side note, I needed a ride to be picked up and Sam came and picked me up in my car. Sam was very friendly and helped make the whole experience very, well for lack of a better term, pleasant. This shop has the worst customer service ever. I took my car to get the frion refilled for my air conditioning. I was charged extra to replace a gasket in the ac line. My ac stopped working a week after it was serviced . I took it back and he says that now the condenser is leaking , and he says the radiator was cracked and he forgot to tell us the first time . My car was serviced for the front end at Chrysler right before it was taken here for the ac. And right after I got it back there was pink fluid all over the engine bay from the radiator . It sad to see this man calls himself a mechanic . I went in to get a simple 50$ frion refill and now I have to pay an extra 400$. He will not own up to it and says it was cracked prior to me bringing it to them . Save your money and find someone honest and trustworthy read more

I recently moved to tracy and my a/c went out right before summer, just my luck right? So I knew it had a leak and thought it was going to cost at least $1,000.00 so I kept putting off getting it fixed. I finally decided to at least get a diagnostic and see what I was looking at considering I was barely even driving my car due to the heat. I regret not coming here when my a/c first went out because it didn't cost anywhere near that amount. I'm talking under $200.00. I found this auto repair shop on Yelp and from the amount of good reviews thought i would give it a try...I was NOT disappointed! I needed an oil change and a smog check and not only were they able to get me in today ( i called first thing in the am and was given an appt of 1pm) but they took the exact amount of time they said it would be and were very honest with everything they did. I appreciate shops like this and will be making this my shop for anything future I need. Just seen the person in charge maybe the owner I requested a quote to get my brake switch repaired and the person stated it will take 45 min to 1 hour for the work and it will cost me 85.00. I thought it was pricey being that the switch was a plug in device that appeared very simple but I rather let an expert do the work. So I left that place and went down to Mr. EDs to get a price quote and the owner said let me take a look he installed the part in less than 5 minutes and free of charge. I was amazed and very happy, the owner at Mr ED's stated, " Sometimes you have to give to receive " SO TRUE!!!! The driver I believe his name was Larry showed up with his shirt unbuttoned & he smelt like alcohol extremely bad.
