I went in for a breast augmentation consult. At that time he did something called rapid breast enhancement which required no pain meds. His manner was very curt and off putting. He said he wouldn't do that procedure without also doing a breast lift. He claimed it would be painless and I could go out to dinner the same night. He also claimed that the implants could stay in for over 20yrs. He insisted on silicone and said it was perfectly safe. All were red flags. I thought he'd give me an idea of implant size but I was left alone in a room with implant inserts to try on. I wanted input because I didn't know how big would be too big with the lift. All he had said is you'll regret not going big and then left. It seems like a bigger implant could cause stress on the lift stitches. Then the sales lady came in with paperwork insisting that I sign the contract. That's when I gave up and left. I'm so glad I did, this is not the doctor I want when making a big decision. I wish I could leave zero stars. The absolute worst, and one of the most traumatizing experiences I've ever gone through in my life. I went in for a breast augmentation consultation, and from the jump Dr. Kurley gave off bad vibes; stereotypically arrogant, rude, cocky air about him. Condescending, and wouldn't let me ask questions. He also freaked out in the middle of the consult and asked me if I had a hidden recording device...all of this and I still ended up letting him do surgery on me. Right before going in for surgery, I explained to him that I was concerned the implants were not the right volume for me; he disregarded my concern and more or less said he knows better than me, and I woke up depressed and extremely disappointed. I started crying to the nurse, who then brought Dr. Kurley back in, who sat in front of me and belittled me and told me I was wrong for feeling upset, and then started rattling off his credentials, almost bragging to me about what an amazing Dr he is. All the while I am still waking up from the anesthesia, horrified, and asked the nurse (whom I later discovered is Dr Kurley's WIFE), to have him leave the room. He also made several comments about how it is women's fault for not being better patients and coming back to his practice to "fix issues." This was hands down the worst outcome/experience possible for me. I wanted to have this done right the first time, now I'm going to have to pay more money to have a better Dr do it again, not to mention have to go under anesthesia and through surgery AGAIN. P.S. I was texting my boyfriend the whole time describing each creepy room I entered so they would know where to find me if something happened...the office was by far the weirdest, creepiest office and so unprofessional. It looked like a room you'd take the SATs in in the '90s. read more

The office staff is very friendly, then send text appointment reminders about your appointments. The worst experience I've ever had seeking aesthetic services and the most rude doctor I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with. Stereotypical pretentious know it all that will go on a spiel about information you never asked for and then when you try to ask a question, he shuts you down smugly and says "this appointment is about Botox and strictly Botox." God forbid I ask about anything else after you tell me I'm not a candidate for Botox. Then force me to pay $95 after getting no questions answered and being treated condescendingly. I had a non invasive procedure performed at this facility over a course of 6 weeks. My first few appointments were completed with one technician who was very good, but unfortunately, she left for another job. While the overall results of the procedure were disappointing, the worst part of the experience was the huge turnover in staff. Each visit I interacted with new staff members that were "in training". The training of the technicians seemed to be lacking and I was burned and electrically shocked. I actually cancelled my final appointment as I could not bear the thought of further torture. Saw their Botox special online and thought it looked like a good offer. Called and made an appointment. Then get a call back that I would also have to pay a $90 consult fee just to see the Dr. Kurley before he injected me. Didn't matter that I have had botox in the past and/or that he would see me when he injected me. Called Dr. Castille's office down the road and got in for a free consult and botox and I could see an esthetician at the same time. We don't need this kind of "service" in our little community. read more

Did you know this place has its' own Medical Spa?! I didn't until a friend told me about it last summer (2017) and I've been a monthly client ever since! I was skeptical at first given the name "surgery center", but she was right! Their services are top-notch, prices very fair and reasonable and their main aesthetician Chelsea, is fabulous! She is knowledgeable, professional and completely passionate about helping her clients achieve whatever it is they wish. I've been struggling with hyperpigmentation on parts of my face and she has gone above and beyond in helping my skin, to the point that those trouble areas have almost all but faded! I have been visiting Dr. Kurley and his team for over 8 years (at least! ) and his procedures are spot on! After thoroughly researching my options for tattoo removal, I called Advanced Aesthetics to inquire about whether the office offered laser removal as well as get a price quote if the procedures were performed. I was informed by the receptionist that they did do laser removal, but in order to get a price quote, I would have to make an appointment for a $90 consultation. I agreed, and proceeded to make an appointment. Dr Kurley looked at my tattoo for 5 seconds and then proceeded to tell me about the limited procedures he could offer at his office. He told me that their office did not have a Q-switched YAG laser, but rather only has a CO2 laser which he used for other cosmetic procedures. Now, when I called about laser tattoo removal, I assumed that the office would have up-to-date equipment for the procedure. When I asked about laser removal, I was not told that they did not have a Q-switched YAG laser and could only use a CO2 laser. First, I had to waste my time and blow $90 to find this simple information out. During the consultation, Dr. Kurley did eventually mention Q-switched YAG lasers, but only to say that he did not think it was worth it to invest in them. He also said that all removal methods would leave a considerable scare so his methods were just as valid because they took less treatments even though research using more sophisticated equipment has shown to give virtual scareless results. I requested to see some pictures of removals he had done using his methods. I was then told that he did not take pictures of his work. "Are you serious?," I thought, "You are a COSMETIC surgeon. Who in the right mind would get a procedure before seeing an example of the result?" After about 15 minutes of time with the actual doctor, I was given 2 quotes for the 2 procedures I did not want to start with (excision and CO2 laser removal) and then prompted to pay the $90 fee. When I got home, I contacted the office explaining my experience and gave them a chance to make it right. I was then regurgitated Kurley's justification of his methods and told that the consultation was nonrefundable. After a follow-up email further explaining my stance, I was told that informing them of my intent to write a negative review if the situation is not rectified was "extortion" and may "amount to libel." The problem with this situation is that I should have been informed that the procedures performed at the clinic were not as sophisticated and up-to-date as those of other clinics. All the research I have done on tattoo removal has talked about Q-switched YAG lasers, CO2 lasers are rarely even mentioned anymore. If someone calls to inquire about laser tattoo removal, to me it is only fair to tell them that you only have a CO2 laser before you have them come in. There are so many better options in Champaign-Urbana for your cosmetic surgeries! Please, do not make the same mistake I did! read more

If you are like I was and had no idea where to get laser hair removal you have found the right place. Excellent experience from when I walked in the door. Comfortable environment and very clean. Equipment is up to date. I had a super easy and free consult. I always thought laser hair removal would be expensive painful and that I might not get good results. I was completely wrong. My technician Chelsea is awesome at her job. She made me feel very safe and comfortable every step of the way. My pain level was a big concern to her. For me the pain was so very minimal I wouldn't even call it pain. They sell their laser services in packages of three treatments. The treatment for my jawline took about a half hour. I'd say I had probably 40 percent hair reduction after just one treatment, by my third treatment I just had a couple stragglers left. I was the bearded lady (lol) but now I'm smooth as a baby's bottom. Laser worked so well that I'm getting my forearms done now. I will be taking my 15 yr old daughter to Chelsea so she can work magic on her too! The state of the art laser machine they have works on more than just the fair skin dark haired people. So if you are not sure it will work for you just go get the free consult. If you are considering laser hair removal let me tell you it WORKS. The price is definitely doable. After a two year journey of losing almost 100 pounds through hard work and discipline, I was left with a stomach "apron" that nothing but plastic surgery could address. I contacted Dr. Kurley's office in September and was warmly greeted by Kendra who set up a consultation with Dr. Kurley. That consultation gave me a face-to-face introduction to Kendra who assessed my needs, expectations and options specifically for my issues. She was great in explaining the services, procedures, costs and financing options. I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me through the process. I then met with Dr. Kurley who spoke to me in great length to discuss the tummy tuck procedure that would be necessary to take care of the extra skin. He was up front and honest about what to expect in surgery and, as importantly, after surgery. Not just the recovery but the realistic expectations from the surgery itself. I never left his office feeling like I was going to be a model after the surgery, but that I would be a model patient if I followed all his instructions for post-surgical care. On December 13, 2010, I had a 4.5 hour surgery that included a tummy tuck and butt lift (due to the extra skin on the bottom of my butt). I was cut completely all the way around!!!! I was sent home that afternoon with a catheter and 4 drain tubes. I went back the next day to have the catheter removed - which went without incident. I returned the next Monday to have the 2 hip drains removed followed by the groin tubes being removed 2 days later. I have been back twice since then and I am only 3 weeks out. The aftercare provided by Dr. Kurley has been fantastic. He has spent as much time with me at each appt. as I have needed, has never rushed me, has answered every question and continues to provide me with education as to how my body is healing and the final outcome in a few months. I am astounded with the results after only 3 weeks. Dr. Kurley's skills and experience are superb and not only would I recommend him and Advanced Aesthetics, I HAVE been for the last 2 weeks. I am so pleased with him that today after my follow-up appt. I scheduled the surgery that I will need to remove the excess skin from my arms and legs. Please do not be hesitant to contact Advanced Aesthetics because of the "dissatisfaction" of one patient. I cannot say enough about how great Advanced Aesthetics is. I am so happy that I decided to trust Dr. Kurley as my surgeon. He really takes the time to explain not only everything that he will be doing, but why he will be doing it. The rest of the staff are great too. From the receptionists, to the nurse, to the anesthesiologist; everyone is friendly and helpful and makes sure that you are comfortable. My actual procedure was rapid recovery breast augmentation. I was skeptical about actually healing quickly and not needing prescription pain killers after surgery. If you follow instructions though (even the really sucky laying on your stomach every night including the night of surgery) you really will be back to normal in no time. Within a week I felt good, within 2, I was completely back to life as usual with no discomfort of any kind. (To include sleeping on my stomach. Everything he tells you to do has a purpose!) As for my breasts, I couldn't be happier. Dr. Kurley measures you and recommends what size implants will give you nice, natural results.
