I have been with Advanced Audiology (AA) for about 10 years. I have always found Strawberry pleasant to work with and accommodating along with the rest of the office staff. SO much so, I also brought my mother here. I have always been happy with the Octicon hearing aids (H/A) I had been getting from them over the years. So why the low rating? In between my first and second set of H/A, I was asked to try the Starkey brand. I was not happy with their tonality/sound quality or functionality. So, I went back to Oticon. Last year, I was once again asked to try Starkey. Even though my last experience with them was not favorable, I was told they were the latest and were very good. I tried them. Once again, I was not happy even after the issues I had were addressed they did not sound as good as I was used to. The audio levels were constantly bouncing around depending on the room I was in. It was very nerve racking, a constant headache. I was then asked to wait a bit as Starkey was going to release the latest and greatest they had. Once again, they pretty much sounded and acted the same. When I would get on a phone call the room mics would triple in volume and drown out the caller. Calling the tech support, the choices were blaring or nothing. They were stumped why this was. Went back to AA, and was told the issue was defective H/As. They would order a new set. The new set arrived, the phone call issue was gone, but constant bouncing of levels and the poor balance of sounds in the room continued. All pre-sets were just terrible. I also tried to set my own audio levels, and the H/A seemed to have a mind of their own and would start bouncing around. After multiple trips to AA and phone calls with support, I was done with trial and error. I was then told I was now stuck with these H/A! The only thing that can be done was to keep coming back for tweaks in hopes of getting things right! Since I was never offered an alternative like Oticon, it was obvious they have now gone all out on Starkey. That said, I will now have to find a new audiologist because I will NEVER get Starkey again. Even worse is I now have to wait for the next window that my insurance will pay for new H/As, as my last allowance was wasted on the Starkeys that now live in a drawer! Luckily my Oticons are still working. My experience has been, after I got used to wearing H/As, I would put them on in the morning and actually forget I was wearing them. When I would put on the Starkeys, there a CONSTANT, NAGGING reminder that I was wearing them. Not for me. I am sure there are people out there, that love and swear by the Starkey name and that's great for them. I am not one of them. I need an audiologist that offers choice and not just one brand. read more

Under previous owner and audiologist, Nola Aronsen, this place was great! I bought hearing aids for $3000 in 2016. Dr. Aronsen promised free batteries and service on my devices for life. Sadly, she retired a couple of years ago and the new corporate owners no longer honor that promise. My aids need servicing now. When I called, the front office staff couldn't guarantee the practice still services my product, but they would ask the doctor and I could call back to find out and set up an appointment (for the $150 service fee - she repeated that three times.) But I will likely need new devices ("yours are almost 10 years old.") I'll call back tomorrow, but am also checking with other audiologists as my confidence is not high. Sad, as Dr. Aronsen was very community focused, donated to many community projects and was very honest and transparent. The new owners are not. read more

Terrible! Over priced hearing aids. Ended up purchasing hearing aids for much less, elsewhere.. When I reached out to my insurance company to get reimbursed for part of the hearing aids, they said this company submitted a claim for hearing aids and received partial payment therefore I wasn't entitled to a reimbursement! I reached out to them to question why they filed a claim for something I never received from them, and their excuse was lame. They got paid and didnt return the funds back to my insurance company until my insurance Sent them a letter demanding the money back. BEWARE!! read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. My father went here for a hearing test as recommended by his insurance company. He previously went here a few years ago and didn't have the best of experiences, but went back because of his insurance. After the hearing test, they offered to have him try a new set of hearing aids. He tried them and didn't like them and went to return them before the trial period was over. He had them move his ear molds and tubing back to his original set. His original set wasn't working properly after they put his tubing and molds back on the original set. The lady at Advanced Audiology immediately became defensive, saying we didn't do anything to them. She proceeded to tell him that they could not be calibrated because they were too old and they no longer had that software ( he had purchased them from this location in 2018). They then put his molds/tubing back in the demo hearing aids they were trying to sell him. They told him he had a couple weeks left on the trial before he would need to purchase them. I found a different audiologist in Santa Clarita that move the tubing back to his original set and recalibrated his hearing aids. Guess what, they work just fine. Advanced audiology tried to take advantage of my father by trying to sell him a new set of hearing aids which he did not need. read more

I'm from Tennessee and was in Santa Clarita, CA visiting family when a speaker wire for one of my devices failed. I found Advanced Audiology on Yelp and gave them a call. They were willing to help me out even though I probably wouldn't ever return as a customer again. They verified that they had the repair part before I drove to their location. I arrived five minutes before they closed and they repaired my device in just a couple of minutes. I'm grateful for Advanced Audiology's willingness and professionalism to help me out. Overall good experience. My son has autism and the front desk representatives seem to be understanding. We were seen few minutes after our appointment time. Only thing I was a bit concerned was when his appointment was going to be cancelled. I had already took time off from work to take my child here. Since a young child, my ability to hear has not been appropriate. Recently, I acknowledged the need for a formal hearing assessment as well as hearing aids. The staff at Advanced Audiology are fantastic!!! The stress and anxiety associated with the need for hearing devices was not pleasant, but the staff were kind, understanding, honest, knowledgeable and professional. I'm new to Valencia, well I've been here for one year. Moved from NorCal. I was in need of a good hearing specialist and went to an Audiologist group who also shares the same office with ENT doctors here in Valencia. I won't mention names however I would grade them 1star, and that's generous... I decided to ask my primary care doctor who he was referring patients for hearing loss and he said for the past 22 years he has been referring to Nola who owns Advanced Hearing in Valencia. In one appointment she was able to detect my problems and give me solutions that solved my hearing issues I've been having for the past three years. Nola and her staff is more in creating a relationship and solving patient problems as opposed to just selling hearing aids. Believe me that's not the case in most Audiologist offices. Nola is very patient and is dedicated to helping you find the right hearing aids and making sure they are adjusted whenever you need to have them adjusted. I upgraded to chargeable ones and love the fact I don't have to use batteries anymore. This has been my second visit, just for following up. My audiologist, John Shim, is very thorough, clear, and concise in his explanation of my test results. The office is accommodating with appointments, and billing my insurance. I have been to two other audiology centers in Beverly Hills with my specific workplace injuries, and both of those offices were very disappointing. I wouldn't think of going back, and will only go to Advanced Audiology at this point. read more

My Dad has been using hearing aids for years. I was able to get him to try Nola a few years back. The office staff and Nola have been so patient with my dad. The service has been responcive. During the Pandemic they mailed out the batterys and filters when ever needed. He even has a divice hooked up to his TV to listen on his hearing aids. She took a ton of time on her own to provide custom hearing aid options and the net result was...I'm continuing to use the one I bought a few years ago - because it's providing the best quality. First of all, parking is bad because it's between the auto club and the city hall buildings. But if you go early enough in the morning, there's always a couple of empty spots, so you don't have to use the valet parking service. The first time we went to the building next door because we saw a big audiology sign on the front of the building. Ha! It's not them... they're right next door. The first visit, we saw Strawberry (yes, that's her name), and she gave my wife a hearing test and showed us the results. She was as very nice and professional. The second visit was to fit my wife up with the hearing aids and pair them to her iPhone. Again, nice and professional. The third visit was to see how it went for a week, and to adjust the volume up. I believe the forth visit was to extend the wires around the ear to make them more comfortable and bring the volume up to normal hearing levels. The only drawback to this place is the parking. But other than that, they get one of my rare five star ratings! read more

I went in to get my free hearing test. I knew I had hearing loss, so I wasn't surprised when I was told I needed hearing aids. I was quoted a price of about 7000.00 and was told my insurance would cover them. When it was time to pick up my aids, the price shot up to over 11,000.00 and my insurance was paying about 1300.00. I told them I no longer wanted them. About 2 years later I was referred to an ENT doctor due to dizziness. First thing they did was give me a hearing test. Long story short, I now have top of the line hearing aids that cost about 5000.00 total and all was covered by my insurance except for 1300.00. I can hear better and I have more money in my pocket!!! read more

This place is wonderful. I brought my 94 year old grandma whose been complaining about her regular hearing aids here. She normally complains that the sound is piercing, but I notice even then she has a hard time comprehending. I'm found Advanced Audiology and immediately Stacy answered and was super kind. When we came in Karen worked with us and explained her hearing loss better than I had understood it previously. She let us do the free 45 day trial and I love that they are not pushy sales people, so patient, and instantly knew what to recommend.
