Dr. John Malen and his staff are absolutely wonderful. Everyone is extremely friendly, patient, and truly takes the time to make you feel comfortable. After learning that I've lost about 30% of my hearing in both ears, Dr. John carefully explained what that meant and walked me through which hearing aids would be most beneficial for me, answering all my questions without ever making me feel rushed. I wasn't ready to order right away since I had a vacation coming up, so I waited. In the meantime I did a little research and later called the office with a few more questions. I reached a recording and didn't leave a message, planning to call back later- but within seconds of hanging up, the office called me back! That level of attentiveness really stood out to me. Everyone I spoke with was kind and helpful, and all my questions were answered clearly. I ended up ordering my hearing aids and got them a little over a week ago. Dr John helped with the App and set a couple things up. They are easy to put on and getting used to them was actually very easy. I don't wear them all the time but so far, so good. I have a problem with my left ear. I have Tinnitus. Sometimes it rings. Sometimes both ears ring but only when I hear loud sounds around me. I went to my doctor & she recommended having a hearing test. Just to make sure I can hear from both ears. I was given an appointment to come to this place. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed, the staff is friendly, the place is clean, plenty of places to sit, music & air-conditioned. I met the doctor, John Malan. He explained to me about the procedure & the hearing test. First he checked my ear canals & eardrums. Nothing wrong. Then he proceeded to do the hearing test. I passed it. I still have great hearing. There is no cure for Tinnitus. Many people over time will get this problem. Some early in life while others later on. In order to continue to have good hearing, don't blast your music when using earbuds, headphones or raising the volume too high on your speakers whether at home or in your vehicle. Keep the volume to an acceptable level. Meaning, keep the volume level down & never go too high or past a certain level as loud sounds will damage hearing over time. read more

Dr Malan at the Ascent Hearing Center has been treating me for about 4 years now. There has been nothing about the experience that hasn't been outstanding. From the ladies at the front desk to Dr Malan I have always been treated like family. Since I don't have great dexterity in my hands, I visit the office frequently to have my hearing aids cleaned and the domes replaced. I am always helped immediately and always felt welcomed. We had a July appointment that we made in April. I couldn't believe it would take that long for just a hearing test. She called me May 6th and said she had a cancellation for the next day so I took it. It's a very nice office friendly staff and I was able to do the paperwork online so we were in and out in under 20 minutes. Overall positive experience but waiting months to get seen is a bummer glad I asked to be on a cancellation list for an earlier appointment. read more

Dr. Malan is amazing! Walked in, I sat down for maybe 10 seconds & Dr said to come on back. They were very personable & efficient. They took care of my uncooperative son & showed a great amount of patience during his exam. The Dr explained everything in depth about aftercare. I was out within 30 minutes as promised by the receptionist who scheduled us. I did not feel rushed at all during the appointment. I requested for the records to be faxed to me regarding the exam, by the time I returned home- complete medical records were sitting in the fax. Excellent customer service & efficiency.
