I paid a ridiculous amount of money for an entire house of blinds from this company because I was told that they guarantee product quality. Most of the blinds had to have their pull strings replaced AT MY EXPENSE within a few months. When the fabric of one blind literally disintegrated -- a blind the same age and sun exposure as 5 other windows, so clearly a product fault beyond normal wear and tear -- Advanced Blind wanted to charge me $200 just to replace the fabric (not the whole shade, mind you)! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I walked across the street and got an entirely new shade for $50. read more

Wow, these guys really screwed up our order! Our first measurement was August 20 and we made the deposit on August 22 and it is now three months later and they have no record of our order. Today they are installing a second order that doesn't fit. Mistakes happen, ok, and yes I was upset because we've taken off work three times now to get the measurements taken and be there for installation. But their office made no apologies for their mistakes - only excuses: we are really busy, construction projects take time etc. Absolutely apologies or sympathy for our situation. That office person needs to be replaced if this local firm wants to stay in business. She concluded by saying you are certainly free to take your business elsewhere - I certainly will take my $1,500 order elsewhere. read more

We've had good service from Advanced Blinds in the past, but this time they really dropped the ball. Three months ago we had someone come out to measure two mini blinds in our home for replacement. Two months later, having not heard back, we contacted them to see if our estimate was ready. Crickets. Eventually we got a call, promising our estimate in a few days. That was a month ago - still nothing. We've since gone with a different local company. We're hesitant to try Advanced Blinds again, because this was such a small order, and they still couldn't get it done. read more

Recently we had cellular shades installed by Advanced Blinds and Shades on our new dining room bay window, as well as replacement vertical blinds on our patio door. Tom Baker had come out to measure and help us choose the colors, materials and styles. Arturo came and installed them. He did a great job. They looked beautiful. Today I had Rob come out to adjust the height on one side of the vertical blinds. Our house isn't perfectly level, so it can be a challenge. Rob did a wonderful job making it straight! In fact, he also gave me some awesome pointers about our living room bay window. That lead me to call Advanced Blinds and Shades to schedule Tom to come out once again and this time to measure for cellular blinds on that window, as well. And I'm going to have Rob do the installation. I'm confident he'll do a great job! Update: Ron DID do a wonderful job installing our front bay window cellular blinds. I needed a repair to a product that is no longer made, and she carefully described how they repair could be addressed. I left the showroom with a smile on my face. The gentleman who came out to take measurements, Todd, was also fantastic. He took the time to explain the smaller details of the project and was patient when answering my questions. Never again. Did not listen to what we wanted for a bathroom shade. Refused to take ownership for the screw up but offered to remake it at a discount. After crunching the numbers it was the same price just moved numbers around. Workmanship on shutter finish rough. Not plumb. Our entire house done by this store 6 years ago and the difference in the finish from 6 yrs to the new shutter is night and day. spray job incomplete and rough. read more

Great experience working with them. I first went to their showroom on 41st to see my options and the customer service was amazing. They were able to answer all my questions and show me different swatches, within minutes I knew exactly what I wanted. They were able to have a technician come to my house within a few days to take measurements. Bill came to the house to take measurements and took the time to explain exactly what I would be getting. He also advised on if the blinds should go within in the window frame or above the window. Bill was very patient with all my questions and gave me a realistic time frame when to expect the blinds to be installed. The blinds actually came a couple weeks earlier than expected so that was a nice surprise. Christian installed the blinds and he was very friendly, efficient, informative and clean. Christian even took down the old blinds and neatly stack them which made it easier to store them. I could tell he took proud in his work and he made sure I was completely satisfied with the job! This is my first YELP review but I had to acknowledge these folks for going above and beyond for me. So rare these days! Took 2 shades in to be cleaned and they didn't meet my expectations when I arrived at home and put them up. Park of me rationalized that they were old and maybe my expectations were unrealistic. Decided to call and was so happy that Max, the Manager, said there would be someone over the next day to take a look. Johnny, the technician that cleaned the blinds, was at my door the next morning and listened carefully to my concerns and explained the process that goes into cleaning them. He was so helpful and graciously offered to clean them again when he got back to the shop and he brought them back the next day. They look great! Advanced Blind did a great job helping me choose the appropriate coverings for my house. We have a mix of top down/bottom up, blackout, and cordless shades and they all work great even six years later with constant use. Recently, when some rambunctious guests damaged one of our shades, I called to see if we could order a replacement and they had all my measurements and everything still in their system. I was able to order it over the phone with no hassle, and it matched the old ones perfectly when it arrived. Plus, when I needed it done by a certain date they were really helpful, and the price was right. I really appreciate being able to work with a real person at a family business rather than trying to order something from a website, especially when being off just a fraction of an inch or one shade of white could totally mess you up. I'm sure if I had gotten shades at some bargain store there would be no way to get a perfect match six years later and I would have had to redo the whole house. I wish I could give a higher rating because the place is a locally owned establishment. I came in with my mom a few months back with questions about the different styles and costs of shades, but we were treated very poorly by the older woman at the front desk. She didn't acknowledge us as we came in, and seemed completely uninterested in answering our questions when approached. When she did respond, she was condescending, rude, and short. She made us feel unwelcome and her behavior immediately changed my mind about wanting to do business with Advanced Blinds. Unfortunately, they lost a business opportunity in addition to the respect of local customers. We won't be back. read more

If there was a way to add more stars to this business I would! I had Advanced blind come out and measure and make blinds in 2020. All went easy and totally smooth, and they did a wonderful job installing them. 5 Stars. When they put a larger blind in I asked for it to not have the cords (seemed more novel just to be able to pull/push the honeycomb up & down). Well, that ended up being not so great...I actually got frustrated and tore the blind b/c I pulled too hard playing w it. I took it down and brought it in for repair. Not only did they repair it (for free!), but they converted it (AT NO CHARGE TO ME) to have the cords. What an absolute treat to use a local company and have the blind fixed within just a couple days!! I can't tell you how much this exceeded my expectations and really made me happy. We just wanted to share with anyone needing new interior blinds and/or shutters that Advanced Blind & Shade based in Soquel, Ca, once again (as we had done business with them many years ago) provided excellent/superior value, support, and service in us selecting and them quoting and then us ordering and then them installing blinds ands shutters on every window in our two story 4 bedroom home. Todd R. who helped us to select the best of the plethora of options to meet our budget on each and every window (and shutters for between our family room and den) took as much time as was needed to make sure everything we ordered was perfect, as if it was his own place! And then when Todd and Rob came to install everything, they were courteous and conscientious about installing without so much as even a nick to any of our walls or hardwood floors etc. as well as masking up for protection against Covid-19 virus. I watched throughout the day as they worked very hard in completing the install professionally and effectively and then Rob as he finished to job, literally vacuuming around the base of every single window so that once he finally departed there was no trace of any of the install work to be seen, other than our beautiful new blinds. These gentlemen are real pros and their behaviors from engagement to install completion defined the concept of support and service which is truly second to none. Todd even called a few days later to ask if any final tweaks needed to be made as well as to confirm everything working just fine and that we were completely satisfied. He happily showed up a couple days later with a longer wand my wife had asked for on one of our vertical blinds so she could reach it easier. If you want to engage/work with a vendor who treats you like their own family and delivers on all they promise and including when (as we also had a deadline which they promised they would met which they did) then you should give them a call and have them come talk to you about your needs and see firsthand how they go about supporting and quoting for starters and with no obligation to make the deal/give them the business which is awesome. Finally, If you are like my wife and I, while we wanted to minimize our expense yet desired high quality, then Advanced Blind & Shade is a potential solution and worth your serious consideration before going with anyone else. This is my first Yelp review. I typically lurk to find good businesses in my area. Saying that, this is not one that I would recommend. I called to have broken slats replaced in my blinds. One of which was broken by the cleaners, so they recommended that I call ABS to get it fixed. The guy came out Dec 6 to look at it and said he would email me a quote for not only the blinds, but also for new blinds in my master bath. Jan 3 I had to call them to ask where my quote was. On that call, I got the quote and told them to go ahead with the repair. They said they needed to send a guy out to measure which I thought was already done in Dec, but ok. We scheduled for Jan 9. They followed up with an email of the quote and a confirmation of the guy coming to do the measure. He showed up and told me it would take 2 days for the new ones to arrive. Jan 31, I had to call back again to ask again what was going on. I was asked if I paid the deposit. Me: What deposit? ABS: It's on the quote. If you don't pay the deposit, you don't have an order. Me: At no time during my chasing them down calls did anyone say I needing to place a deposit in order to get this ordered. I didn't have any issue with but this guy was being a jerk about it saying it was up tome to read the quote and make the call to pay the deposit and place the order. I though the order was already place back in Jan when I said "yes, let's move forward with this" Feb 3rd, I called back again to ask where my blinds were. I finally got a time/date of that week. At no time did I get the quote for new blinds in my master bath. I'll now be looking elsewhere. 2 mos to fix 2 broken slats is too long...the customer experience through it was awful.
