We couldn't be happier with John and Libby and the entire crew at Advanced Construction. Our 1970's kitchen was in major need of an update. After years of thinking about it we knew we wanted to maintain the existing footprint in every way because it suited our needs. We had done A LOT of cooking in that kitchen and knew well how we used it. The idea was to change out EVERYTHING within that footprint with new and more functional cabinetry, surfaces, flooring, lighting, and appliances--on a strict budget. I knew from the first phone call with Libby that we would work well together. She's a designer and I'm an artist who likes COLOR and Libby was so receptive. Their initial quote was clear and detailed enough that we could toss things out here and there that were beyond our budget without harm to the overall plan. When we made our first visit to the design studio, Libby and I were like gleeful kids, playing with materials I'd brought in and drawing from her collection of samples and colors. Demolition started right on time and the detailed schedule kept us abreast of what was happening when. The crew consists of delightful folks John and Libby have used for years, and who work together seamlessly. Communication was a breeze during every step of the project. Our new kitchen is beautiful. Ok, I thought we picked an honest contractor who we wouldn't have to check on. I was wrong! Libby and John came over and spoke a good game and although expensive in my book for a 90 sq/ft bathroom, but at least the wife was satisfied. We contracted a complete gut of our master bathroom for roughly $22k, not including the shower glass and a few other purchases like the vanity, medicine cabinet, sink fixtures, vanity light and toilet. After week 1 the wife paid the first installment. Week 2, the second. Due to confusion of how much was due, we were about $158 short. Not a huge mistake right? Well John left a rude and unacceptable text stating we were short and we were to pay the difference when he came buy the following morning. In my opinion, this could have waited until the next installment was due the following Friday. Our mistake, so we made good on the oversight. Throughout the construction, I noticed issue with the shower, vanity, medicine cabinet. I honestly believe if I had not brought the issues up, John would have left them as is. The vanity was in stalled, screwed to the wall, with the plumbing tied in and the counter caulked to the wall. The problem was the front legs were off the floor more than a 1/2 inch. The free standing faucet for the tub was completed tub caulked to the floor, but the faucet was not secure wobbling to the left and right substantially. Again, we had to bring it to their attention to get fixed. This meant removing the tub and tearing up some tile. Anytime we would bring something up, Libby would make excuses or say, John handles construction she does the design. It's both their company and the customer service was far less than desirable. Paint- one would think painting the bathroom is a given with a complete bathroom gut when the existing wall color doesn't go with the design. Especially when Libby mentioned it during the job walk. Well that was not the case. When we asked during construction, Libby said she didn't include it in the estimate and it was going to cost more to paint the bathroom. Finally, you would think cleaning the bathroom after everything was done would have been a forgone conclusion. Well, again John and Libby fell short. The window was filthy, the mirror had finger prints from installation, the tile still had a film and the vanity was dusty from drywall dust. To get John and Libby our of our house and our lives, we had the cleaning costs removed from our final payment and my wife ended up having to clean everything. There are a few other disappointing issues we experienced, but I won't go into those as I believe I've already painted a good picture of what you can expect should you enter your not a contract with Advanced Construction and Design. read more

I'm in the process of a home renovation. I needed 2 cabinet doors. Advanced construction and design were able to make the doors alot faster than having lowes order them. Plus being in the construction trade for all of my adult carrier, I can recognize quality work & theirs is top quality. I will definitely be using them again. read more

We were struggling in a small kitchen with old cabinets that barely fit any of our stuff. We needed a lot more storage, but had nowhere to extend the kitchen space. Even though it's usually nerve wrecking to trust such a big project with a contractor you find online, John and his designer won us over the first time we met. Their pricing was very reasonable, and they knew exactly what we needed and how to make it happen. They came up with the idea of extending the cabinets into the dining area which gave us all the storage we needed and then some. John was such a joy to have around, he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our final result. He was always timely and thorough. We are very grateful for all the hard work John and his designer did, they've changed our life for the better. Woman came out to get info for an estimate. Came at the wrong time. Everything we mentioned thinking about doing for various projects, she rudely shot down as totally wrong, terrible design and the worst material choices but when my husband asked follow-up questions, it was clear she didn't even know what we were talking about. Left saying she was going to get back to us by the end of the day with a bid for the original job. Never heard from her again. read more

John and his team were excellent. This was my very first remodel and I was very nervous. John and his decorator walked us through the process and gave us an EXTREMELY accurate estimate on our master bathroom. I felt that the decorator really had my best interest at heart and we really worked together well as a team. Every worker that came through from the demo team to the tile setter to the framers were very professional and did great work. I never felt pressured to buy anything extra and they even saved my existing tile floor at my request. All items that were suggested were very reasonable and none were needlessly marked up. He was on time, honest, professional and extremely accommodating. He's also an all-around nice person to work with. His associate Otto was equally professional and polite. He worked within my budget and accomplished all of my goals, which included: installing laminate flooring, a complete bath remodel, tiling, replaced a tub, repaired drywall and did three built-in shelves and built a kitchen counter that is also a pass through bar.
